First time filing-Outstanding!

We filed our first claim with Embrace for our girls annual wellness exam. Initially there were some technical issues that customer service had to get their IT department to fix. That was accomplished in a short period of time. We filed our claim that same day and were notified within 24 hours the claim was completed and reimbursement would be in our account! I have used 2 other pet insurance companies previously and this is the first time that our claims were completed so quickly. Their customer service and claims departments are outstanding. Only wish we had use this company previously!

Support staff very helpful in submitting claim forms. They also connect directly to the provider for information.
Even though they are an online service they do provide humans for help when needed.

DO NOT BUY EMBRACE HERE'S WHY

I paid Embrace $31,200 over 13 years, to ensure my senior dog would have insurance that included a $750 deductible; with only 2 medium sized claims that were still under my annual max. Embrace increased my premium to $550 a month! Didn't even ask me raised the rate and emailed me one time. Now where do I get senior dog insurance? This cancels the reason I was ever a loyal customer, was for my dog's senior years. They invested my money and made far more than what they paid me out tiny claims, if any. I feel dumped at a critical time I might finally need pet insurance - even though my dog is still super healthy. I do not reccommend buying Embrace Pet Insurance. Disappointed and feel really used for paying them a healthy premium all these years to get clearly pushed in to me cancelling the policy now that my dog is 13. Give me a break who can afford $550 a month for a dog, If I could afford that monthly, I wouldn't need stupid dog insurance to begin with.

SHOP AROUND. The longer you have Embrace claims or not, the higher the cost; rate increased $45/mo

The problem is... cost. Embrace is more expensive each year and LESS if you go somewhere else or RESTART YOUR POLICY. My dog has NO preexisting conditions so i asked why the $40/mo rate increase? Answer...."the longer you have your policy the more likely to use it" so if youve paid for years your rate goes up regardless of claim history. MY dog is 3 and has been with Embrace since puppy.i have had few claims but got a policy at Pumpkin (sister company) for $40/mo less... Makes NO sence youd think the longer you had them with little to no claims the better your rate would be.....not
Im going toshop around/likely change every year

While your current premium may be higher than a new quote, in general when a pet is insured at a younger age, we expect to be able to cover more of your claims as your pet ages than someone who signed their pet up later in life because they will most likely have more pre-existing conditions that are ineligible for coverage. Due to that pet tenure, your premium generally ends up being higher than someone who is purchasing a brand new policy for a pet of the same age/breed/etc. in the same location. We are unable to price match, but we do structure our policies to allow each pet parent to change coverage parameters to adjust the premium based on what they feel is best for their individual pet and situation. We understand you've canceled your policy and we are sad to see you go, but understand you must do what you feel is best for your and your dog. had embrace pet ins on my 2 pugs for about 2 yrs my oldest 6 yrs old got cancer, they refused claim, then I made it to easy on them and canceled my policy, they just want you money!!!

We are sincerely sorry to hear that your experience with our company has not met your expectations. In order for us to process any accident or illness related claims, we are required to complete a medical history review for the pet. We do offer an option to complete this review upfront, but if it's not requested, we do not review the medical records until the time of the first eligible accident or illness claim submission. This information is also stated in our onboarding emails. Your claim is on hold pending the completion of this review, but once the review is done your claim will move forward for processing. Our only requirement in order for the coverage to take effect at the end of the initial waiting or exclusionary periods is a documented physical exam by a licensed vet either within the 12 months prior to the start date of the policy or within the first 14 days. We strive to be as transparent as possible regarding the coverage, and this condition of the policy is noted in the acknowledgements that have to be agreed to upon purchase and in our onboarding emails. We understand you've spoken with a representative regarding your concerns, but if you have additional questions, please feel free to reach out and we're happy to assist as we are able.

Good, not Great.

I have been a customer of Embrace for 5+ years, as I compete with my dogs in agility and am a USAA member. I also have a low deductible and a high reimbursement; if a dog gets injured, even an initial evaluation with the vet can run $800-$1000.

The good: Embrace covers most of my claims. If a claim is accepted, they are pretty quick about disbursing reimbursement.

The not-so-good: Embrace uses AI to review claims. I've had claims rejected because they use the word "ultrasound," and AI cannot distinguish between therapeutic and diagnostic ultrasound. This leads to a very quick rejection of a claim; unfortunately, Embrace takes its time reviewing the additional information they request, delaying claim processing.

The bad: My dogs undergo regular therapy to keep them in top form (as prescribed by my vet). The rehabilitation facility offers tiered pricing, which includes therapeutic exercise, underwater treadmill, laser, and physical manipulation -- all for one price. Embrace regularly rejects these claims because "physical manipulation" is considered "massage," and they do not cover therapeutic massage.

Other modalities, such as shockwave, are not covered. Even though the price of shockwave has reduced dramatically (from $700/session to $175/session), and it is an evidence-based therapy, Embrace does not cover it. In fact, Embrace will not cover many proven therapies, including Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation (chiro), Massage, PEMF/TENS, Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy.

I have been with Embrace since Jasper…

I have been with Embrace since Jasper was 3 months old, he is now 7. We have had a 2 claims, both were paid quickly and no question on them. From typical puppy antics to a recent very serious unexpected back surgery both were a breeze to file and get reimbursed on. I have a moderate deductible and a cap of $8000. It did go up after this last claim but he is getting older and the customer service person worked with me to get the renewal down. I used to have wellness on this policy as I believe in preventive care but It was really not worth it in my opinion. Glad we had this policy for this last unexpected emergency.

We filed a claim and our insurance rate doubled every month. Talked to them and said that happens and wanted me to take some things off the insurance plan to bring it down a little bit. To have it doubled is pretty bad, so disappointed in the insurance. So beware if you file a claim!!

When pets get older

Customer service is great. Great insurance for pets, Until they get older. Been with Embrace for over 15 years and have had older pets with issues and no big price change. Now all of a sudden they want to triple my premiums due to pet being older with some claims. One pet $400 a month

Rip off
