What an awful experience?

What an awful experience?
As a mature student, I did not find the program user friendly, or intuitive ultimately, causing me to abandon it very dissatisfied and disappointed

Room for improvement

I have been using Endnote for many many years now but just now bought my own subscription.
I never faced as many problems with Endnote in the past as I di with this new version. It crashed on me few times and also gave me some trouble for which I had to go online and find solution.
Additonally, with this version as well as the last, I always have trouble importing references from a pubmed-created file. I know how to work it now...BUT it is still frustrating !!

I am a long-term Endnote user

I am a long-term Endnote user, since at least 1985. Over the years the software has gotten increasingly complex and powerful. Sometimes reaching past the understanding of this author. However, I have never sought to change to another approach. When this onerous job needs to be accomplished Endnote is up to the task, even when it requires multiple discussions with the software providers.

The connection and ease with referring between endnote and word document. However, it will be great to connect to other Microsoft product such as power points. Also, it will be great if endnote can create subgroup based on reference used in specific document!

Too many bugs!

Word locks up if you try to rearrange paragraphs that contain a quote and instant formatting is on. It does not find articles as it is advertised--iIt gets me to my university, then flips out. The program opens on its own, even when Word is not running.

Too many bugs!

The new UI is good-looking

The new UI is good-looking. However, I hope that I can hide some fields on the literature information page. For example, if I do not need a tertiary author for a journal paper, I hope I can hide this field on the interface where I input the information for the paper. I remember I could do this in older versions by deleting the name of this field in the preference interface.

I purchased the product without a guide of how-to.

I purchased the product in the beginning of my dissertation. I read about Endnote in one of my research books. I believe the product would work great for me if I had time and a teacher to show me how to maximize it for me. I did not have time to write and review how-to videos. I would say be sure you know how to use it before purchasing it.

Endnote: Meh. Not great nor helpful.

Endnote could stand an upgrade in customer service and training that is open to new users. This program is NOT intuitive at all. The customer rep I spoke to several times was not very helpful and I got the feeling, bored with his job. I got the feeling the online help assumed my (the client) has used this platform for years which is unfortunate because he wasted alot of my time. I use Endnote sparingly because I am not able to use it without going through hours worth of videos that sometimes address the issues I am struggling with but most of the time not. Endnote really needs to look into basic education for first time users and technicians that cater to this cohort.

I have used EndNote for years

I have used EndNote for years. My interests are around medical history and, particularly, the history of the American anesthesia business. EndNote is the center of my research universe. I could not have organized and developed my work without it.

Way to long to learn how to use the program when I type it should auto creat the endnote based on the subject. I am having better luck with other AI programs. Iam a sigle person that needs to push out critical documents. There for my time is extremely limited.
This has been the issue since I have bought the program! Exemple even on this page you limit the time frame of experience!

This has made research and technical writing so much easier! I love how easy it is to import materials, or even enter a new reference. I really love the fact you can group projects together. This has been helpful when working on multiple projects. I do wish there was more of a “file” type system where you could archive research materials. Such as moving the various projects group to another file. Other than this more “accessory” feature, this program has been great!

I was fine with the old version that stopped working so I fork over $100+ for a newer version to get my library back and get a constant library conversion request on the Mac version. Poor product design and testing especially when you charge a premium to stay current.
