Investing in bonds for good causes…
Investing in bonds for good causes (which may be risky) made easy

Good for the planet and ethical causes
Easy to use platform and I'd like to think is helping to do my bit both for the planet and ethical causes. So far, the companies that I’ve funded have met their obligations except one that has suspended final reimbursement while it reviews options for refunding after COVID disruption to it’s business model. That’s a reminder that these investment are not risk free.

Investing for 4 years to help Africa use its natural resource.
I have been investing for over 4 years in order to help countries in Africa make the most of their natural resource. The site is easy to use except I have yet to find a way of transferring my money back into an ISA account.

Great Company to deal with.
Very easy to deal with and this is the sort of investment we all should be doing. In the long run the whole world will benefit with this type of investment as it helps with climate change.

Reinvestment experience
The process of reinvesting money was straightforward. In this instance I had received an email notification of a new investment opportunity before it was fully subscribed. This is not always the case.

I’ve used this platform for several…
I’ve used this platform for several years now. It works well and is user friendly. You can choose either an ISA (IFISA) or non ISA account and easily transfer between them. Processing of returns to your bank account are quick and easy. The investment opportunities provide a higher return than the mainstream savings with variable but usually modest timescales for repayment. Typical returns have yielded 5 to 6 percent and a payback of capital over one to four years. But each opportunity is unique and offers diversification from mainstream investment options. So far, the companies that I’ve funded have met their obligations except one that has suspended returns while it reviews options for refunding after COVID disruption to it’s business model. That’s a reminder that these are not risk free. It feels good to invest in projects that improve the circumstances of communities in Africa and contribute to the growth of renewable energy or other social / sustainable objectives. As such they feel like a win win. Bonds typically sell out quickly. New investors should fund your account when sure this form of investing is right for you. Respond fast to the ‘new investment alerts’ but be patient and don’t throw everything into the first bond offered. Spread your savings over several bonds covering a range of countries / companies to diversify the risk.

Affordable investments
Affordable investments - just £50 minimum - and simple process. Important to remember, of course, that all investments involve risk of loss, but Energise Africa make this clear.

You need to register
Usually offers are snapped up so quickly that I fail to invest. This time I've been able to and the process was easy, however, be aware that you need to register with them first and provide ID, which can take a while so best to register if you might want to invest through them.

A feel good investment
Ih have been investing with EA for 4 years, initially the minimum sum for several projects to test the water, but now a little more.
I have been delighted to use money I was lucky to have to help the environment, to help people in Africa trying to educate themselves or make a living. So good to use solar instead of nuclear, which can cause such devastating health and environmental consequences.
I have made good returns on 99% of projects I have invested in- one has had problems, but the risks of investing are emphasised repeatedly and the interest rate was much better than banks or building societies
Maybe I could make more investing in Big Pharma , mining or oil industry- but I’ve got to live with myself
