I have previously been a customer of Engines Plus and historically their own shop provided excellent service. Orders were handled efficiently, communication was good, and any issues were resolved quickly and professionally.
Unfortunately, since transitioning sales and fulfilment through Midland Chandlers, the customer experience has deteriorated significantly.

Whilst the customer service representatives were polite and apologetic, the overall process demonstrated a lack of ownership, poor communication between departments and an inability to resolve a simple problem within a reasonable timeframe.

My frustration is not with the individual staff members, who appeared to be doing their best, but with the systems and support structure now in place.

Based on my experience, the level of service I previously associated with Engines Plus has been lost since the move to Midland Chandlers, and it is difficult to recommend them as confidently as I once would have done.

They do not honour their warranty. I purchased a fully rebuilt suzuki motor from them and it arrived missing the timing belt and kit. I installed the motor and it leaked from the front oil seal. I sent photos their solution was to offer to send a new one. I chose not to wait and replaced the front oil seal warning them that it looked like a slow leak from the rear oil seal as well. We monitored for a month and after sending phots they sent me a rear oil seal. I replaced that with full engine out required. I have sought a modest amount for parts and mechanics labour as part of the their parts and labour warranty and they have denied all responsibility including lying to fair trading.

Easy to navigate website. Delivery was really quick, although not the cheapest, I got what I needed.

This company took what I consider to be a substantial postage charge (£12+vat for a very small package) and then proceeded to take 6 days to get it to me. From a comment made by one of the staff, I believe that it actually took them 3 days to despatch the item. I have contacted the company by phone four times and was told on each occasion that 'there was an investigation being carried and someone would phone me back'. No-one has ever had the decency to respond to me regarding this complaint.
This company sees fit to charge inflated postage charges, but then takes no responsibility whatsoever for sending items in a timeous manner. This company also clearly thinks that it is good policy simply to ignore customers when issues are raised, and to generally treat customers with utter contempt.
I would advise that you only deal with this company as a last resort.
