While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

To protect platform integrity, every review on our platform—verified or not—is screened by our 24/7 automated software. The English Shop is a family owned business based in Cologne and was established in 1995. Over time it has expanded to include a Wholesale department which has been active since 1998 and an online department which has been active since 2003. More recently, we openned our second retail shop in Bonn in 2013 and a third retail shop in Dortmund in 2015. The Cologne store is the flagship store where our offices are also located. As keen lovers of British food we import well known and well-loved brands of chocolates, sweets, crisps, teas, jams, biscuits, soft drinks, alcoholic drinks and much more. Our goals are all strongly aligned with customer satisfaction and if you want a product, we shall do our best to get it. We provide a wide range of goods from all your favourite brands such as Walkers, McVities, Cadburys, Foxes, Campbells, Heinz, Sharwoods, WeightWatchers, PG Tips, Typhoo, Twinings, Strongbow and Bulmers to name just a few. We stock products not just from England but also from Wales, Scotland, Ireland, the US, Jamaica, Australia and as far away as New Zealand. And to top that off we also offer a wide range of English books, English magazines, gifts and seasonal goods.

THX for nothing but trouble

The good news is that your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning. I would like to quote from an email I receveid yesterday from the customer service:
"...over the years I have encountered many British customers who have been more than happy with the level of service. Perhaps next time we will have a better experience with you." All in all, let me put the whole situation this employee created in a nutshell:
I will not complain, I simply will not come back and I will simply never recommend this store again!
