I checked the website, which stated that dispatch would be on the 11/11/22, today is the 15th and still no response to my email asking for more information, only received a standard email, blah blah. I will never use this company again ! I’ve asked for the order to be cancelled, nothing, no response…
Re telephone call, you confirmed that I would receive my order before 18 November 2022. You also apologised for not replying to my specific email queries. You were quick enough to respond after my trust pilot review. Look forward to my small order this week.

UPDATE: I received my order as promised and they upgraded the Katsu curry sauce to 6 x katsu Set, which was a very nice gesture and surprise. Much appreciated and have changed the stars to reflect this.

The service is ok the products are good but now & again delivery a little bit long

Very bad experience. We have placed an order almost 2 month ago and are still waiting for half of the products. Communication is very difficult and when the person finally answers the phone you get some long winding stories about butchers with heart problems etc.
We have received one half of the products but there is still no info about the rest or a refund. I am so tired of this an will never order again from them!

All well. Took some time, but this was well communicated.

Terrible. I am currently trying to obtain a refund as it has been 6 weeks since my order and there is no sign of it. Communication is non-existent.
There are far more reliable sources for the same product so steer clear of the English Grocer.

I am not very happy at all. I placed an order and when it finally arrived I received the wrong product. I had ordered and paid for a large family pack of mini eggs for Easter, I received the small pack that costs half the price. I have sent messages and have even phoned and was told that i would receive an answer but I still haven’t heard anything from them even though 10 days have passed.

Good service, very pleasant and capable people to deal with. Kept to he days and more or less the hours but that depends on many things outside their control. Fully recommend!

Delivery made above and beyond that expected.

I ordered various items on 21 March expecting delivery within a few days, as I have experienced from other expat services. When I had heard nothing after 10 days, I contacted the company, was given some kind of explanation as to the reason for the delay and was told the goods were being packed and would be delivered the following week. In fact the items were only delivered on 12 April. The bakery products ordered had an expiry date of 13 April. What was far worse was that the supposedly fresh sausages ordered were all more than two weeks beyond their use by date. And there was a note on the enclosed invoice, which had crossed out the fresh sausages and hand written "Frozen sausages - use by 15 April" When I telephoned to complain, I was treated very courteously, told it was an error and that I would be sent frozen sausages as a replacement, which would be sent on 13 April by Express Post and would arrive on the morning of 14 April. That would have been fine if they had not then dispatched these to the invoicing address near Zürich rather than to the delivery address in Ticino! So by the time they arrived, the frozen sausages were unfrozen!
Not a great experience - a great shame as the range of products looks great - but my experience was that the execution of orders sadly was not.
What I can say however is that Max was extremely courteous throughout, attempted to remedy the problems and admitted the errors made.

Excellent service and at a price I'm happy with. Also found The English Grocer is cheaper than using Britstore or British Corner Shop - the main difference arises from customs charges - I've been routinely charged ~ CHF 70 for nothing except box opening and inspection. Also please note, these two companies won't ship meat pies and cheeses whereas The English Grocer will.

I ended up in hospital and was not able to settle up the extra products I had asked for (as in the initial order something was missing).
Very understanding to wait until I was out and able to pay 👍

Always an excellent, very personal service. Well done 👍
