I do not live anywhere near this company's main office, but I am very happy customer all the way out in Tennessee. Their customer service honestly blew me away. I had a problem with my sauna recently, and keep in mind that it is more than 13 years old. I called to see if they could help, and they walked me through the issue step by step right over the phone. The person I spoke with was so friendly and patient, and they helped me get it working again in no time. The fact that they were willing to help me so thoroughly even through my warranty expired years ago says a lot. I am beyond grateful and expect this sauna to last me many more years. If I could give more than five starts, I absolutely would.

I am writing this review to warn everyone: DO NOT do business with Enlighten Sauna (enlightensauna.com). This company is a complete fraud, and I am still fighting to get my money back after months of lies, incompetence, and at this point outright theft.
An Abbreviated Timeline:

Placed order and paid deposit. Promised delivery in 6-8 weeks.
NOTHING. For over 8 months, we were strung along with excuse after excuse. "It's coming soon." "Just a few more weeks." "Shipping delays."
Finally cancelled the order after 8+ months of waiting. They stoped answering emails or calls and disappeared. We were not able to recoup our deposit.
Then, after months of waiting and not being able to receive our deposit back we notified that our sauna has arrived. When we received it, they had sent us THE WRONG MODEL entirely and we were missing parts. We promptly returned the incorrect unit and requested a full refund. Now, nearly a year later, I'm still fighting to get our money back—stuck in an endless cycle of dodging, unanswered calls, and complete lack of access to management, billing, or any department beyond a single customer service representative who cannot resolve anything.

We have been working through this issue since 2023, and this is the first time we've been informed of any staffing challenges on your end.
To clarify: the sauna was not returned damaged. It was partially assembled when my assembly team discovered that the incorrect model had been sent. Your manual covers both sauna variations in a single document, which is why the error wasn't immediately apparent.
When I initially reported the missing parts and damage upon delivery, you were made aware of the assembly situation. I also documented the entire packaging and return process on video, confirming the unit was not damaged when returned.

We filed a BBB complaint against Enlighten Sauna for engaging in bad business practices. I should never have done business with Enlighten. Our Enlighten Sauna was under warranty, but a faulty part caused it to stop working. Enlighten required over $1,000.00 to replace the faulty part under warranty. It has been over 6 months, and Enlighten has not provided the part needed to get the sauna working after cashing our check.

I have file a lawsuit in California against Alec Sparks dba Enlighten Sauna. If you choose this company you will likely lose your money. Maria K. ,Mark S., Olga Z. And Jessie O. appear to be active participants in this unethical business enterprise that promotes scam like practices. BUYER BEWARE

Maria K. Emailed me and told me management would call me 3/2/26. No one called or contacted me. I filed a small claims case against Alex Sparks /Enlighten Sauna. Absolutely believe this is a scam being perpetrated by Enlighten Sauna. Mark S., Olga Z. and Jessie are complacent in this operation. Suggest filing claims against Alec Sparks/Enlighten Sauna if you want to resolve your issues and stop any fraud that may be occurring.

No call from Management to resolve this issue. After further research, I discovered this company does not have a registered license in San Francisco or San Mateo County according to the San Mateo and San Francisco County Clerks. Their address at 1395 Marsten Rd. Unit A, Burlingame, CA 94010 is no longer their working address. The new address given to me is 1559B Sloat Blvd Ste. 146, San Francisco, CA 94132 and is a UPS Business where they receive mail. This gives them the ability to reject court summons or registered mail. You will need to sue Alec Sparks since they are a Sole Proprietor Business. Finding his address information to serve papers has been made difficult apparently intentionally. They are suspected of criminal activity due to the numerous complaints filed to the BBB and fact they owe numerous refunds and have taken downpayment of over $4000. and up to $18000. I have emails, phone logs and printed contracts to support my findings. I it crucial we shut companies down like this to help our fellow consumers. File a complaint with the California Attorney General's Office to show this is an ongoing problem and hopefully they will investigate.
Failed to deliver Sauna ordered November 24, 2024. Down payment for $3250 was sent November 26, 2024, and cashed on November27, 2024. After numerous excuses for not delivering the sauna, I requested my guaranteed deposit of $3250. refund on June 3, 2025. They refuse to honor their guarantee acknowledged via email, verbally and in writing. It is now February 5, 2026, and they still refuse to refund my money.
Update February 18, 2026
The reply they gave me on this platform means nothing to me. I have heard this explanation for several months and they never follow through. This company definitely appears to be a scam. They have no business license listed in California because they are a Sole Proprietor. They have changed their listed physical location in San Mateo, CA with no disclosure of their new location. They receive their mail at this address: 1559 B Sloat Blvd Suite 146, San Francisco, CA 94132 They currently owe refunds to multiple customers and at least one authorized dealership that I can verify. I have informed the FTC Fraud department and will continue to expose Enlighten Sauna as an apparent scam company.

Useless.
Contacted technical support once who said the only solution would be investing in more heat source. After dropping more than 6k for that sauna it just doesn’t feel like a fair thing. And 3 years later and the sauna looks like crap inside and out. Does NOT hold well on the elements.

I have ordered a sauna from them in March 2025 and wired them the down payment, I still don't have a sauna and they say it is on a boat being shipped from over seas, they have been saying that since June.
I called many times asking for a refund and they are giving me the run-around
To be honest I really don't think I will ever see the sauna from this company and I will be out the money..

In December 2024 I spoke with Mark at Enlighten Sauna. After many phone calls with him, I decided to make the purchase. This required a 50% deposit in check form only. I didn't hesitate since Mark seemed honest and very knowledgeable. The contract stated delivery within 12 weeks. It is now October 2025, I have no sauna, I am out $6050.00, Mark has not returned my calls or emails since April 2025. They pass me on to either a virtural assistant in Asia, or Maria, who is only messenger of information with no ability to refund my money. I have learned they have an F rating with the BBB and there are other customers who are in a similar situation. One even filed a Lawsuit against them. The good news for you is you have read my review and its 100% true. Now you can avoid making the same mistake I did !

I had high hopes for this sauna
I had high hopes for this sauna, but unfortunately, the experience has been incredibly disappointing. Not long after installation, the exterior of the unit began to warp, change color, and even show signs of rot. I reached out and spoke to Armand, who assured me he would take care of the issues. Despite many promises, there was no follow-through.
Instead of honoring the warranty, Armand told me to pay for the repairs out of pocket and said he’d reimburse me once I sent the invoice. I did exactly that—but after multiple calls and messages to both him and customer service, I received no response and no reimbursement.
This company simply does not stand behind their product or their word. I highly recommend buying from Plunge instead. I purchased their cold plunge, and they’ve been everything this sauna company is not—reliable, responsive, and supportive. I only wish I had purchased my sauna from them as well.

The facts of my experience:
Received a sauna with a non US compliant heater. Contacted enlighten that they must have sent wrong heater since they advertise the sauna as being compliant with US electrical standards. Was told the rep my electrician reached out to was not actually an enlighten sauna rep and received a phonecall and voicemail with directions to wire the heater in a non code compliant manner in order to make it work.
I notified enlighten their approach was non compliant and I would like a replacement heater with one that was UL compliant. The pressed me to have it wired not to code for several additional weeks and only after I reached my breaking point of patience and threatened to pursue legal action did they finally agree to replace the heater BUT I had to send back the non compliant heater first. I sent the heater back and was ghosted for several weeks on getting confirmation or next steps. I finally wrote a review of my experience on Yelp and shared it with enlighten, again threatening legal action if they didn’t rectify the situation. I received nearly immediate response that they had just been busy and couldn’t get to my matter but they did receive the original heater and would send options of replacements.
Then they sent me a link to an option which I confirmed was an acceptable replacement. Then they sent several emails and a voicemail indicating I needed to remove my review in order for them to send me the heater. As of 4 days ago I refused to do that and have still not received a confirmation that I’ll receive a replacement heater.
Summary:

- know that there are likely many many more customers that experienced similar challenges but may have taken their reviews down in order to have their matter addressed

PLEASE READ BEFORE CONSIDERING A PURCHASE WITH ENLIGHTEN SAUNA - If you value your hard-earned money, please go elsewhere for your sauna. I purchased a Sierra 3 outdoor infrared sauna in January 2021 and after the wrong sauna was delivered in July, I finally received the model I purchased in September! This was after Enlighten tried to convince me to keep the wrong sauna.
The sound system installed was not the one included in the specifications I received when I initially made my purchase and there are drip marks from a messy stain job on the window seal. When I notified Enlighten Sauna of this and asked for a partial refund, I was told I would need to sand and restain my sauna myself and I was completely dismissed for the wrong sound system, with no response. They have ignored attempts from the BBB to resolve this issue.
The heaters only go up to 118 degrees and it takes 4 hours to heat up. This is a defective product that’s not worth a fraction of the price they charge.
They have been an absolute nightmare to work with. Horrible service and will take your money without honoring your original agreement. Please do yourself a favor, take it from my experience and go with a different company.
