DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM THIS COMPANY!!
DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM THIS COMPANY!!! I obtained a car from this company on the 20th of July. It was through another person's insurance company as they had crashed into my car and were covering the cost etc while my car was being repaired. I was advised by an Enterprise staff to take a picture of damage that on the volvo car that I was taking for my records so I did. I had the car 48hrs and I returned it to the body shop as was arranged by Enterprise in perfect condition. Today, over two months later they send me a 42 page email stating that I had damaged their car, billing me for damages of €2500 and if I don't pay in 14 days then they will be taking it from my credit card. The damage they claimed I did on the 23rd of July (even though I had returned the car on the 22nd) is the same damage that I took a picture of in their garage on the 20th of July at 5pm. The staff in the Limerick office, Jack & a new manager who is in the job two weeks were of little to no assistance because I have to deal with their office in the UK & also because the new manager is only in his position a short time, it really was not his problem!!! Two phone calls later to the UK office, I was informed that they had emailed about same on the 23rd of July, which I was not, and that maybe the Limerick office may have made a mistake and that someone will be in touch with me soon. I have read other reviews and a quick AI search shows that this company is known for accusing people in the wrong and sending fraudulent, threatening emails. I have reported them to the third parties insurance company and to my bank and it is my intention to go futher with this. Please, do not deal with this company under any circumstances. If I could post attachments of the report & pictures with the dates etc I would then you would see how truly awful they are.
Extremely disappointed and let down
Extremely disappointed and let down. Regular customer Ordered van on line money taken from my bank account and received a phone call telling me they had no vans to hire. Was offered a car at extra cost, staff not apologetic about the situation. Will escalate to customer complaints department at enterprise head office
Enterprise Rents Defective Car Bills for A Week When Car Returned After Two Days
I was forced to return a rental car early because the car was defective. The car engine stopped at stop lights, endangering me.
I was told by Enterprise that I would not be charged for unused time and would receive an adjustment given the unsuitability of the car.
Enterprise failed to provide me with documentation as promised.
I called Enterprise once and was told the matter would be elevated and addressed within a day or two. I called two days thereafter and was asked to repeat everything from the start all over again.
Enterprise has failed and refused to refund $700. Enterprise further has failed to settle with the credit company, making it impossible to dispute the charges to my account, and leaving me without recourse.
Strange Procedures
I’ve rented a van from Enterprise on several occasions in the past without any problems. I left good reveiws when I enjoyed the service. However, today, when I tried to book again, I was informed that there is a “caution” registered under my name.
I do not recall any incident or issue that would explain this, and it’s causing serious inconvenience. I urgently need to hire a van, so I’m requesting immediate clarification on what this caution is, why it was placed, and what—if anything—I need to do to resolve it so I can complete my booking.
Paying extra for a working car
Enterprise/ Alamo really ripped us off. We originally picked up a hire car from Alamo in St Pancras (it already wasn’t what we’d booked - it was an automatic when we’d booked a manual, but apparently all the manuals were out), only to find that the air conditioner wasn’t working, only blowing hot air (an issue, as it was 33 degrees outside and we had a four-hour drive coming up). When we finally got through to customer support (after several tries) they said no problem- take it to the nearest Enterprise (Stroud in our case), and they can swap it for a similar car with working air conditioning. Enterprise and Alamo being sister companies. Fine - only when we got to Enterprise, they wouldn’t swap the car without charging us more (though the new car if anything was a downgrade). We tried for over an hour to get through again to customer support, but no good - they rang off every time. So there we are: charged once for a hire car, charged again to have one that worked properly. Didn’t get the kind of car we booked, the car we did get was faulty, charged extra for putting the fault right, and no way of getting through to customer support. Since then, despite multiple complaints, no one has contacted us. I really thought that Alamo/ Enterprise were better than this, but they’ve acted like absolute cowboys.
Beware of later hidden fees from this…
Beware of later hidden fees from this rental company. Rented a van for 10 days for our Florida trip so could carry mobility scooter. I am a handicapped veteran, and this company quoted me $521 for the rental period; however, few days prior to leaving I had to be rushed to hospital for brain bleed, and was in hospital for 5 weeks. My partner carried the van back on the 3rd day, and this company charged me nearly $300 plus a credit card hold fee through some company never heard of, and would not post on my account as Enterprise neither; and, me and bank had hard time figuring out what that charge was for until further review come back as hidden Enterprise fee. This company isn't what they appear on paper, and don't trust their promise to customer. It's like anyone could had an emergency and had to end rental unexpected, but according to Enterprise all they want is you to join their club, and pay them some more money. Doubtful rent from this carrier again because of their unprofessional acts, and sure they will say "we're sorry". Grow up Enterprise CEO you're an adult but act like a child, admit your mistakes your the CEO act like your an adult rather than a spoil girl.
Recently learned from research, if you're seeking a van for rental don't look at Enterprise. Go to those conversion van rental places as they have vans they rent, and much less hassle than dealing with hidden fees Enterprise, plus most will deliver to your location and allow 125 miles per day free. Check out Superior vans.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR A ANYTHING!!!!!
Absolute scammers. Supplied a car wet which had a scratch. When the car was handed back they didn't say anything, no emails, no correspondence just wouldn't give my deposit back. When I questioned them, supplied photos, metadata, corresponding evidence. They said I had not enough. They would not supply the reports, their evidence, nothing.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR A RENTAL!! AVOID AT ALL COST
Highly unreliable just hours before my travel informed vechile not available
I booked a car more than a week and confirmed the collection but to my surprise they just called up few hours before collection and informed car not available and left me with no option just before travel. It is very frustrating and annoying in the last minutes my family of 9 people including eldors and booked all travel arrangements for 10 days across various places in the uk. Enterprise could have arranged it from other locations where there are vechicles available. They left me without any options and i have to find myself in other nearby locations but as i booked it last minute i have paid £300 more than my original quote. I have raised complain but none looking after my problem. Highly unreliable rental car option and i felt local car rentals far better and support. Booking ref 1695197078. I should deserve the loss i been through from enterprise as it is enterprise didnt care my travel and left me no option in the last minute.
Very good service very professional…

Clean and functional car
No to Enterprise Car Hire and a warning to others.
My experience with Enterprise Car Hire in Poland has been very disappointing. In my ongoing dispute, no one has responded to repeated requests for evidence that a chip on the windscreen was caused by us. Despite this, they have taken 1,600 AUD from my account and are still asking for more money, threatening me that if I don’t pay, I will receive a bad credit rating. The communication is the worst I have ever had with any company ever. The process has left me without a voice (hence this review), and unable to challenge their claims in a fair manner. I am left with no clear explanation or proof and possibly close to $2000 out of pocket For an international company that should provide trustworthy service, this is extremely frustrating and stressful. The Polish to English translations have also been very confusing. I would strongly not recommend them based on this experience. I loved visiting Poland. Just this experience with Enterprise was awful. As a result I cancelled two other car hires on my Europe trip.
Do not use this company
Do not use this company. Total con artists. First of all only given a couple of hours notice of them demanding the car to be returned that day even before our car had been returned to us. I travel for work so it was really inconvenient as I had to leave work early to accommodate this. We also disputed damage on the hire car which was a small gouge to the tyre Whilst we had done a visual check in the car and looked at the tyre tred. We hadn’t inspected the tyres in that great detail. As the car already had accident damage and the car was not properly cleaned on pick up I wanted proof that it we had caused the damaged and that it was not there previously. The gentleman who handed the car over to us said he told us to inspect everything which he didn’t and his attitude was really poor. We were promised that that no money would be removed from our account until it was resolved. Despite that £150 removed from my account. I asked for two quotes for tyres and got absolutely nothing. I half expect that if I went back to check the car the gouge would still be there. We didn’t choose this company it was one the insurance company arrange. We certainly wouldn’t use the again as you can’t trust a word they say.
Poor post-rental customer service
Friendly and helpful before you pick up car. Less so at drop off and after the rental has ended. Customer service responses after querying a charge are slow to non-existent.
Overpriced
Overpriced, over charged, and they refuse to apologise or refund me for bringing the car back early! Customer care? They have NEVER heard of it! Even used their page on Facebook and still garbage!
AVOID AVOID AVOID !
AVOID AVOID AVOID !
We booked a small van with Enterprise Frejus, for collection at 12:00. We arrive 10 minutes early, to be told that the van needs a new bumper fitting, and it work will start at 14:00. No call. NOTHING !
We decide one of us will wait 2 hours + . Then told we need passports for I.D. NOTHING in the booking mentioned passports. Evetually they accepted my Carte de Sjr. They offer us a car instead - we NEED A VAN! That is why we booked a VAN !
We finally get the van, but on the way home, realise the A/C is not working - on the hottest day ever in France. It is blowing air at 46'C !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
17:30 We call ALL of the possible numbers, but no answer from ANY of them apart from breakdown, who say they cannot help, and to contact the local branch, who don't answer - AGAIN.
The next day we return the van, as it is not useable without A/C.
They want to charge us for the day's hire, even though all they have done is make us waste a whole day, just to pick the useless thing up, which wasn't ready and wasn't working !!!
A week later. No communication. No Refund. NOTHING !! 3 weeks later, still nothing.
Eventually, after 1st complaining to the UK head office (who told us to contact the Local branch - AARRGGHHH) we sent them another email threatening legal action, and only THEN did they process the refund - a full month after we returned the van
This is the worst hire experience ever.
Lesson - DO NOT USE ENTERPRISE - EVER !!!
2 bookings, 2 cancellations , 5 mins before, no solution , didn’t care
I booked a van for a house move 4 weeks ago, at 5.54pm the night before , they called to say it wasn’t available and there was no alternative but they were closing so didn’t care. I went online and booked another one 45 mins away for 8am, drove 40 mins and 5 mins before getting there they called and said it wasn’t available. This meant a whole house moving chain fell through because I could move out on time. The branches did not care, the customer service chat cut off three times and would t give a complaint number, when I finally found one the lady said sorry this happens all the time. There aren’t enough vehicles in the network. I wish I read the reviews. DO NOT BOOK with Enterprise, it is completely unreliable and they no not care when it goes wrong.
Booked a van to hire for 2nd January…
Booked a van to hire for 2nd January 2026 from the Sway Road Morriston Swansea, received a call at 8am on the morning of the colllection day by the manager to inform me that there had been an error and that there was no vehicle available. I was also informed that the payment I made of £160 would not be taken as it was only a pending transaction.
A few days later the payment had been taken from my bank account.
After numerous phone calls to both the branch and customer service centre as well as a personal visit to the branch each time being advised that the refund will be actioned and please wait 10 days to receive the payment in the account no refund has been issued.
This has now been on going for 7 months.
The company has been full of false promises and lack of ownership.
Even the area manager has failed to respond to my complaint.
It’s the worse customer experience I’ve ever experienced in my entire life and seems to be a shambles of a company
Bognor Regis Branch -excellent
We've just returned a loan Fiat 500 we had as my wife's car was in the body shop for repairs for a month.
The service received from the team at Bognor was first class.
They were all friendly, helpful, professional and a pleasure to deal with at all stages of the process.
Jamie and Jess were outstanding.
Such a pleasure to deal with especially compare to the abysmal experiences I have had with other cr rental companies, particulary Hertz who are abysmal.
Well done Enterprise Bognor
No vehicle available
I went online on a Saturday for a pick up on Monday end of day. I received a phone call Monday at 9:30 telling me they did not have ANY cars available.
When your company is renting cars, you should have cars available. It is like saying DQ ran out of ice cream ?!!!
You won’t stay open long if you don’t have cars to rent.
Dodgy practice dirty car
Booked a car through car repair company when I went to collect the ar I was told didn't have any standard cars and had to pay extra. Car was dirty with rubbish in the car and on empty only just made it to the petrol station acted like a dodgy little company rather than a large brand complained twice through the customer care team and advised omeone would contact me to arrange a refund but have heard nothing. Complained to car repair company and they contacted the manager and said this is common practice by them in order to up sell? Still not heard anything absolutely appalling wouldn't advise you use this company a bunch of pirates .
