Appalling customer service…

Eon provide an absolutely appalling service and their online portal is as good as useless.
I have spent the best part of 30 minutes on hold waiting for someone to speak to me about finalising and closing my account. After telling them at various points throughput the call my customer number and twice to two different agents, I finally got through to a team member, who then forwarded me to someone else! Finally, with someone who could help me and I could settle my bill with actual readings - they wanted to charge me more based on their estimates and not my final reading. How does that seem fair? Anyway after much deliberation and them "seeing what they can do for me" the agent went to put me on hold. But instead hung up.
I'm now back in the queue trying to get hold of them! Absolutely dire service and in my next property I will go out of my way to avoid using this company ever again.
Don't even get me started on their website. Doesn't recognise my email address after setting myself up online. Then the login doesn't work. So I reset the password, but the home address isn't on their systems against my customer number. So I can't login, despite me registering, changing the password unnecessarily, updating the address, and then there is a technical fault. I am disgusted that this company can even think they provide customer service. It is outrageous and far from any experience I wish to go through again.

P.S. I am STILL ON HOLD

Moved house in february & settled the final bill and since then I have received a bill for different amounts each month, the last one being over £500. I am sick to death of the stressed caused by these letters & being assured I will not receive another one. Do not use! I will NEVER use Eon again. Disgusting.

Absolutely appalling customer service

Absolutely appalling customer service. Booked day off today for smart meter to be fitted 0800-1200hrs. Received a txt at 1040hrs ‘not coming’. Email CEO AND MD Residence both apparently too important to take complaints - perhaps that’s why their customer service is so bad. Even their exec complaints team are useless- actually laughed when I insisted they would fit the meter today - and their pathetic offer of £30 for not turning up! Has taken them 8 months to sort out my bill! Only one way to show disapproval - Omburdsman and move suppliers

My honest opinion of EON

My honest opinion of EON, is that they are the reason why the government are trying to push laws through to stop energy company from taking advantage of low income homes. From the day I signed the dotted line, I applied for a smart meter on my all electric powered flat. I did this many times in the 18 month contract and never got a single response. I believe this is to do with the fact that they don't want me keeping track on what I am spending on energy. So they can rip me off as they did in the last quarter of my contract. Thanks EON

Stay clear

Unacceptable customer service received complaint has been raised with EON in regards to meter readings being incorrect and a bill being distributed with an incorrect price.

Stayed in the property less than 4 Months one person and apparantly I have consumed approx £1000.00 energy. Being out the house 12 hours a day and not hailing a boiler for the first few weeks working has also apparently racked up the bill.

The complaints team refused to tell the time scales for a data subject request act and pass it to pillar to post 5 complaints advisors now have had my complain all of whom have not had time to investigate.

I have tried to pay the bill EON team have told me not to however percistantley call and when call back the charges are more than £1.00 per minute complained about this to be told this is the only number they have for the team I have to speak to.

Arranged a smart meter to be input driver took photo of door and drove away waste of a morning waiting in.

Complaints are never dealt with.
Waiting times rediculous.
No service received.
Customers are a mere number to the company.

Horrendous service no help or assistance at all stay clear unless want a high gas and electricity bill along with an extremely high telephone bill that you need to pay.

Better eating your money if you have it to waste on EON.

After fighting for the correct standard…

After fighting for the correct standard meter it was eventually installed in October 2017 after finding the initial engineer made a total mess in the cupboard and had installed the incorrect meter! After 6 months I received the correct meter and engineer tidied the wiring. The first 3 months were fine with the meter set at 0 for a fresh start and supposed refunds received from eon but then came the winter months with power cuts/surges so instead of the april/may reading being around 700 units, it read over 7000. Then this month they wanted a meter reading which read over 8400 on an empty property. I rang billing who said "your bills been going up", it wasn't until I said I'm not paying any bills at I am under dispute I was transferred. Now 2 weeks down the line I've an appointment with a meter reader - why not send an engineer to sort it out! Anyone with common sense would know that an empty property wouldn't use almost £900 of electric, especially in the summer!
Worst company I've had dealings with in a lifetime.

Undoubtedly one of the worst…

Undoubtedly one of the worst untrustworthy companies I have ever encountered.

Makes an offer to settle a dispute and then changes it, misrepresents what you say both to the ombudsman and internally, doesn't follow their own policies and lies about not receiving communication.

Worst of all refuses to exchange faulty and uncertified meters which they are legally obliged to do!

I am moving to another company

Absolutely dreadful customer service

Absolutely dreadful customer service. My mum was sent a letter saying her current tariff was ending and she had to choose a new one by 28 July. On the letter, there were some options of other tariffs so after careful consideration she settled on one, but when we logged on to select it, we couldn't find it. After waiting for an age to get through to someone on the phone we were told that the tariff is no longer available and this was a "business decision" so there is nothing that can be done. The other tariffs on offer were around £200 a year more than she has paid for the last year. The customer service agent said she could raise a complaint but it wouldn't get us anywhere which proved to be true. I don't understand why EON would offer a tariff, remove it before the renewal date, then have no other reasonable options. They have now lost a customer, but really didn't seem to care whatsoever.

Nothing but problems

Nothing but problems. I have been battling eon for the last 6 months to receive paper bills via the post. They refuse however I received an email from a member of the resolution team saying he’s sent my last 3 bills in the post. This was in early June, I was waiting to receive said bill to use it to pay for my June charges. These bills never came. Then I received Julys bill with a £300 late fee for missing June. How can a company fine me for their incompetence? It’s ludicrous!! A hate eon so much.

Thieves

Thieves! They quietly let your account build up a credit balance so you don't notice anything when your fixed term ends. They charge you an extortionate rate, but you don't notice as it just comes out of your credit and your direct debit stays the same. You realise after your several hundred pound credit has disappeared and you 'owe' them far more than your usual direct debit amount!
They claim to adjust your estimated direct debit to match your usage, however this only applies if you aren't paying enough (even though you're probably paying too much)!

Thankfully it's been a warm summer, otherwise they would have taken my laptop too!

In my experience (as a customer for a year), EON does not have good customer service and, in addition, the website is not very customer-friendly. I have recently wasted time on the website and on the phone trying to renew my EON tariff - the website 'froze' and I got cut off when I eventually got through to a human on the phone. I tried to contact EON by e-mail and that hasn't been answered. In addition, although the customer services staff I've spoken to have been polite and tried to be helpful, they sometimes don't seem to know how to solve apparently straightforward problems. This doesn't inspire confidence in the firm.

Apparently too thick to deal with house moves. I have been in dispute with Eon since the middle of April and it is still not resolved. I have lost count of the number of times I have explained the situation and sent accompanying bills - all to no avail.
You have to question the intelligence of people dealing with these matters. I actually asked if I was dealing with a person or a robot. We overpaid our final bill, they issued a refund, took a further direct debit and then told use we owed £260. After which, they've reduced the bill to around £90 and then £80 something. Will not listen when I've told them we've paid. Despite all this time of going backwards and forwards, they are ignoring my requests to confirm we are in deadlock so that we can refer the matter to the Ombudsman. I would rather use candles than ever have them as our energy supplier again. Seriously!

Terrible customer service

Telephoned the company regarding the price rise to see if I could get a better deal The customer service advisor was indifferent and totally unhelpful to the point of being rude. He was talking over me to a colleague . The result was that the price was even higher than quoted. When I said I will be looking for a better deal there was silence at the end of the phone. I have been with this company for a number of years. Terrible customer service . I will be shopping around for a better deal and better customer service

I personally have always found Eon very good. They respond to emails and their website is easy for me to navigate. I like the fact you can manage your direct debit on the website according to your energy use. I've been very lucky with them.

Every time I have contacted EON I seem to wait forever. Their service has gone downhill and I constantly get sent incorrect bills which need further meter reading. Not impressed!

I have been with eon for many years but have just found out their prices are going up yet again in August this year (2018) by 4.8 per cent I understand. I went online and chatted live with an agent who I felt was indifferent to my questions. I have decided to switch to a company where customer service is more important than price increase.

Cheat Practice

Today (23/6/18) I received a letter from EON to say my tariff was coming to an end on 1st August 2018. The letter gave me some tariff options, one of which (E.ON Go Online 1 Year v13) could save me £186.12 pa. As I am already an online customer, I went online today but could not see this tariff so I phoned EON. They answered within 5 minutes. I was told this tariff had 'sold out'. I found this incredulous as a) I only received the letter today and b) the letter said that if I didn't renew before the 1st Aug 18, they would automatically switch me to a higher tariff (E.ON EnergyPlan), an increase of £124.67 on my current tariff which ends on 1st Aug 18. As I had acted promptly to make the switch the same day I received the letter, I feel very cheated by E.ON. The letter should have been more explicit and said in big letters on the same page that the lower tariff was displayed, that this offer was limited to X number of customers (how many, 10??). Needless to say I am now looking at USWITCH. BAD EON.
