Nightmare!±

I've had nothing but problems with eOn since I joined them over a year ago. Now I'm having problems trying to leave them too! The worst company I've ever had the unpleasure for experiencing and I won't be doing it again!

The worst

The worst. We temporarily had Eon supply when we moved house. I have not been kept on hold (even in peak pandemic) as long as these guys keep you on hold.
Their systems are always down and the instructions they send don't line up e.g. send you a bill to pay online, but the account is suitable for payment online *facepalm* so you are forced to call and be on hold.

An absolute nightmare...............

I am a direct debit customer and moved house in February 2021. It is a nightmare to get hold of their customer service assistant over a phone call. After failing many hours of waiting to speak to someone, I filled an online form to give my last meter reading and last day at the address. Within a week they deducted 263£ from my acc. They have no authority to do that.

A nasty surprise to wake up to especially when they don't pick up calls. Took a day off to call them and finally after 40 min of waiting, an argumentative idiot picked up my call and told me I am in debt?? How will I be in debt if I am a DD customer and always up to date on my payment? As expected he cut the line.

I called again and this time a sensible one picked up the call. He apologised and told me they never got my last meter reading. How convenient! so what's the point of having a form online??

Moving on, he revises my bill but now I have to call back to get the money back to my acc. Why can't you process it back to the same acc?? So on a beautiful Saturday, I am wasting on calling to get through to someone so that E.on can return my pay. after 2 occasions waited over 50 min, a woman picked up my call and hang up on me within a minute. Does it worth it to be with a service that absolutely doesn't value its customers time and money?? Not to me. GOOD LUCK if you still with them.

Here's hoping someone will pick up to resolve my issue. I am still trying 4th time and just passed 30 minutes.......... :/

No star worth

They don’t even deserve a star ! I moved out of my home mid august iv told them that iv moved out! Now in 2021 they are trying to tell me that I owe them money. They charged me a estimate reading after telling them that by bill was cleared. They gave me incorrect information multiple times and it took a 5 hours to explain the situation as some did not now what to do and some were plain rude. They do not have customer interest at heart. Do not RECOMMEND!

Evil! Avoid like the plague, seriously!

I would literally describe this company as evil and extremely low. I wish that I could give them zero stars. They charged me an estimated bill for over two years (essentially THEIR mistake) and then unexpectedly hit me with a massive bill for two years of energy usage after installing smart meters. I'm an unemployed man with severe schizophrenia and now they're demanding that I make large payments that I can't afford, despite me explaining my situation to them. I'm poor enough already but they literally don't care that they're going to leave me even more destitute. Their customer service is totally and utterly horrendous on every level. Most of the people you'll talk with on the phone are rude, arrogant, unsympathetic, cold, bullying, patronizing, and generally hold the customer in contempt. I've spoken to people on the phone who'll literally try to bait you into getting annoyed. I hope that this utterly wretched company and everybody who works for it one day gets what they deserve. Damn them to the lowest depths of hell!

WARNING!

WARNING!
This company uses algorithms to randomly overcharge, and to harass, customers.
Add to this appalling customer service erratic a litany of serious faults such as unreliability, false promises, fake claims, patronizing and insulting attitude towards reality and facts.
The worst ever customer service with a monumental lack of customer service probity and fairness.
They tried to tell me that despite a current winter deficit of just £175, that I should actually be paying almost double! Codswallop!
What they are doing is trying to accrue cash upfront, and totally deny the whole point about direct debit budgeting, and how the average annual bi8lls pan out to be in reality.
They actually demanded I should pay them what worked to around £5000 per year and not the ACTUAL amount of circa £2000!
I last spent 1 hour and 45 minutes exactly on my third and hopefully final call to read them the riot act, so to speak. Hopefully they have got the message. they have now confirmed in email that they will accept my insistence to pay £150 per month.
TIP: Keep a record of all emails and telephone calls and if you feel they have not treated you fairly, threaten them with an OFGEM complaint, and if that does not work, actually contact OFGEM and complain formally.
See what happens with OFGEM, but whatever you do change to another provider, as overcharging seems to be EON's default mode in my experience!
Do not let them walk all over you!

Don’t join really poor customer service…

Don’t join really poor customer service often left on hold for about an hour then when you finally get to speak someone they don’t know how to resolve the issue so they have to speak to someone else , so then put on hold another 20minutes to often just get hung up on. To cancel you account is a nightmare don’t just rely they have cancelled when they say they have. I cancelled online through live chat who guaranteed it had been cancelled and I wouldn’t need to call I did so anyway after finally getting through they said it hadn’t been cancelled and they would do it. Had to call another time as only cancelled electric even though on dual fuel tariff, so has taken 5 times to cancel account including times I’ve just been hung up on and it wouldn’t surprise me if they still haven’t done this properly. The amount of time I’ve spent doing this is a joke especially when you need it cancelled promptly as nearly out of 14 day cooling off period. Also I have relations with Eon and their energy prices are sky high as Eon offers such poor tariffs to existing customers much worse than other rival big six suppliers, whom also answer their calls much quicker than EON I Would not recommend anyone to join even if new customer and can get good deal. I’ve been with British, Gas, Scottish Power and various others all much better.
