Fed up and annoyed
I received the filter within the 9 days. I’m still waiting for the jug and filter well over a month now.
I sent several emails. Eventually one came back saying they must have over sold. No real apology. I’m also concerned bearing this in mind they’re still advertising the things on Facebook.
An email came through over a week ago saying it’s now on its way. Fingers crossed.
It’s the worst service ever.
Amazing customer service
Amazing customer service. Have now used for 3 years and anytime I’ve had an issue they have resolved.
Stock does seem to move quick these days but I assume that’s down to more people being savvy with their water.
Will continue to use going forward.
Bad customer service
Bad customer service, no filter for weeks and condescending replies to emails about waiting for a further 5 business days, bad website that doesn't let you manage your own subscription, overpriced product compared to zerowater. Been a customer for a few years but I am done and it seems like this company wont be around much longer.
A Replacement Filter does not make it okay
I appreciate that Epic will send out replacement filters quite liberally for failing filters, but why when a Pure Epic water filter should get 150 gallons does it last less than 10-days and maybe 20 gallons of water? I mean if I had 2-hours for it to filter through, you could call it working. But it shouldn't take longer than 20 minutes. We know how much water we are putting in because after the 3rd filter change in less than 2 months I started a tally each time we filled it. We have a water report and it is actually good water. We purchased this because it does more than the Brita. We should have mud coming from the faucet at this rate. I am looking into a new system - perhaps osmosis this time. I actually think they hide bad reviews because there are none really. Kind of crazy.
No replacement filters available for months
We bought the Epic Smart Shield under sink water filter a few years ago to remove lead from our city water. We replaced our filter once without an issue but the replacement filters have been out of stock for months and we can’t get a replacement. We’ve got super low water flow on our kitchen sink but no new filter to replace it with.
Customer service told us the filters would be back in stock at the end of July but it’s August now and there are no replacement filters to be had.
I’m thinking we’re going to have no other choice but to replace the system as we definitely have lead in our water supply. This is frustrating and disappointing.
Bad product and terrible customer service
Bad product and terrible customer service. Like some others, we ordered the Epic Water filtration pitcher which worked very well for a couple of weeks. After that the flow rate through the filter became so slow that it takes all night to filter a minimal amount. I could not reach anyone at Epic Water by phone so I sent an email requesting a replacement filter. The company responded by email stating that we probably had water with high turbidity - and they would "look into it" Our town tests its water annually and reports a very low turbidity (1.38 NTU).
Longtime Epic customer
I've been an Epic customer for close to a decade and although they never fully or directly answer questions via email and nobody's ever answered the phone, their customer service when it comes to faulty or underperforming filters is impeccable. We have multiple personal bottles and the Pure pitcher. Anytime we've had a filter issue, whether difficult from which to drink or just stops filtering after only a few weeks, a new filter is immediately sent out.
Prior to the Everytap and Everywhere, which are the only individual bottle filter options now, we only had one issue over the years.
Pure Pitcher filters are constantly a problem with maybe every 3rd working as intended. We only use it to make coffee, filling it once every day, so it should last 4-5 months, according to their website. I'm in a small NH town with very clean water, right from a river, filtered through the town system. It always varies but a few have lasted the 4-5 months as indicated, while most don't last half that time, which tells me it's not my water.
Had I left this review a few years ago, 5 stars, hands down. They seem to be slipping though and I hope it's just a fluke. We love Epic and don't want to go back to bottled water.
Ordered the Epic Nano water pitcher and…
Ordered the Epic Nano water pitcher and spare filter in May. It's now July and I still haven't received it (in the UK). Numerous emails sent to which the replies are very wishy washy and tell you no detail, what the problem is or when it'll be sorted. Fingers crossed it arrives soon, but judging by other reviews, I doubt it will.
Replacement filters never sent but they took my money
I ordered an epic water filter on May 9, 2024 and just to be ahead of the game, I went ahead and ordered three replacement filters. My order showed up with the water pitcher and one filter and it is now June 9 and I still have not received my replacement filters.
I contacted them around the 18th and somewhere in the 25th of the month of May to ask where my replacement water filters were and they told me they would be sent out the following week…not only have I not received my replacement filters, but they have essentially held on to my $92 for the replacement filters for 1 month.
I have sent them three emails the first one asking where my replacement filters were and they said they would be sent out the following week when I had heard nothing and had no update the following week I sent them another email and in that email I told them that it was unfair for them to hold their customers money and not update them on when the product would be arriving. I stated that if they didn’t have the products in stock, they should tell the customer that they can give them a refund until the product is back in stock and can be shipped or they should not sell things on their website that they don’t have in stock.
I did receive a full refund for my order however, I now have a water filtration system that I don’t want and that I have no replacement filters for and I will not be using this company again because they do not have ethical customer service or good customer practices.
The second time I emailed them they sent me a $10 refund to my order saying they were sorry for the inconvenience… I don’t want $10 of my money back. I want my filters or an actual delivery date. Their customer service is absolutely terrible and I feel like they lie to their customers after you’ve already given them your money. You can call the phone number, but no one ever answers and when you leave them a message no one calls you back.
I would not purchase from this company if you value your time and money.
Avoid, not working
Avoid.
Epic Water should inform their users that their filter do not work in some areas of Australia, such as Melbourne, because of the number of sediments in the water. But they do not inform them.
Never again, finally giving up on Epic Water Filters...
I can only echo what other reviewers are saying and this is now a disreputable company as clearly they are not in the business of fulfilling orders. For years I happily used an Epic Water Filter jug and filters until they cancelled my auto-subscription for water filters, I have no idea why. I tried to order a new filter recently and their delivery time had massively increased to 7-10 days...2 weeks later I chased the customer service team and they auto 'reconfirmed' the order. No personal email or apology. I chased them again after about a week to ask them to confirm my delivery date as by this time my filter was very old and I was desperate for clean water. Again, I received an automated email advising of a £5 refund, which I assume was an attempt to buy more time. Finally I emailed a third time and asked the team to provide a personal response from a human being (!) to confirm when the filter would arrive and again there was no response except an automated re-confirmation with a new order number. I finally requested a full refund after over 3 weeks, which I was concerned if they would actually do. Thankfully, they did process the refund but for such poor service I will never purchase from them again. The filter and jug will be recycled and I now have to research new filter companies that actually having a functioning supply chain and customer service.
Good experience with customer service
I must say I had a good experience with customer service despite the delayed order. I reached out to Epic Water after 4 weeks of not receiving my order, they were very responsive and I'm happy with the solution they gave me. Judging by my own experience and other people's reviews, orders do take a long time to arrive to UK (4-6 weeks, posted from US I believe), however the products are good quality.
Not impressed with the service in the last couple of years
I’ve been a customer since November 2019 for a bottle and jug. October 2021 was the last time a bottle filter was sent. I was charged July 2023 for a bottle filter that never arrived but only noticed in November 2023 I think, that I’d been charged and it wasn’t fulfilled. I was given a refund when I contacted the company. If I hadn’t noticed would they have realised! In the past they did send me a free lid I think worth £19. Just hope I will still get the new filters on the old subscription otherwise I’ll find a new company for filters like Zero water
The filter is leaking tiny particles…
The filter is leaking tiny particles into the filtration jug which ends up in our tea. When one drinks the tea, the bits get stuck in my throat. My kettle is cleaned so that is not the problem. This is a new jug which my lovely son bought me last week to use in tandem with the Brita jug.
Having read the appalling reviews by other unsuspecting buyers, I wish I had done my homework first on this product. And, I will not waste my time getting in touch with this company. My advice is stick to Brita Filter. I have taken images of the bits in the bottom of the jug and also in my milk free tea. Nowhere to post them though.
Abysmal Customer Service Practices
Like others have said, this company used to be so strong, but they just lost me due to terrible, disrespectful customer service and awful, deceptive shipping practices.
They don’t care at all about their customers or losing business. They certainly do not ship via USPS priority mail (takes 2+ weeks to receive filter replacements). I felt like customer service was almost mocking me every time I reached out. I did get a refund, though.
Stay away from this toxic company, the vibes are so bad and you deserve better.
FYI, there are after market replacement filters on Amazon for $19 that seem to be made of the same stuff and the water seems just as good (and I received them in 2 days).
Used to be great, not anymore
As many mentioned here, at the beginning Epic was great. Good quality filters, customer service, and on time deliveries. But last half a year I've been having problems: I place an order, get charged for it, but a month later it still would not be shipped.
My last order was placed and charged for on 11/16/23, I cancelled it on 12/11/23 because it was never shipped, and I was told it would be refunded. It's 1/15/24 and I still didn't get a refund. Good thing I can dispute this through my c/c.
I don't know what happened to Epic, maybe they have too many customers and can't keep up. But they don't seem to be interested to keep customers, even their email replies were polite but basically telling me if I'm not happy with them shipping my filter whenever, they'll be more than happy to not ship it to me at all.
It's a pity, but kind of forced me to search for a different water filtration system, and I hope it's as good or even better.
Disrespectful and Apathetic Company
I am a loyal UK customer of EpicWaterFilters and have been for many years. I have come to rely upon their Nalgene bottle filters. I drink a lot of water and I was so happy to finally find a reliable filter system for water bottles. I have multiple EWF bottles and have bought many replacement filters as needed over the years. I’ve drunk many thousands of litres of water through Everyday bottle filters.
EWF initially had great customer service. Stock was plentiful and delivery swift. There was a club subscription service which offered better value. When I needed some replacement rubber straw tips, they sent them out no problem.
This all changed about a year ago. UK stock suddenly completely dried up in late 2022. You can get effectively nothing on the UK website. Replacement bottle filters have been unobtainable for well over a year. Thousands of UK customers were given up on overnight, with gobsmacking indifference. Bear in mind the entire business model is based on replacement filters; customers are completely reliant on getting replacement filters when needed. Their UK website is effectively a useless shell at present. The US website is not much better most of the time.
At first EWF claimed that because they were releasing the Everywhere bottle filter, that they were in a crossover period, to explain complete lack of any stock. In very apathetic emails they made thin promises about imminent stock rejuvenation. At this point there had been no stock for many months. More emails and more apathy and promises about imminent stock renewal. After a while I gave up contacting them every couple of months. Their promises were all lies, stock has never been made available. Months are soon to become years.
Zero notices or messages have ever been communicated to customers about the problems: not via email, their websites, or their social media. They are completely radio silent as if all is fine. Social media posts go out as if all is great.
The complete disrespect shown to customers is astonishing and something I have never witnessed before. They absolutely couldn’t care any less about their customers and are quite content with having scored wealth through initial sales before abandoning the market.
The Everywhere bottle filter released to supersede the Everday and Outdoor bottle filters. These are obviously also not available in the UK. However they eventually came available to order on Amazon from the US (at a considerable markup). Reviews for this new filter were already bad, almost exclusively with regards to flow-rate. But with no alternative and desperate, I ordered some. The Everywhere filter’s flow rate and effort required for sucking water through are absolutely atrocious. I tried many possible methods including pre-soaking, of allowing adjustment after a couple of weeks, etc. (None of which are suggested, you are told nothing is needed, just pop in and good to go.) These filters hurt my mouth with the power needed to extract water. I actually feel like it is bad for you to be using these over a prolonged time due to the negative pressure. As someone who used the filters everyday for plenty of water, it’s a non-starter. A perfect product ruined.
I understand they wanted to create a supposedly more eco-friendly product. But the benefits on that are questionable. And having one filter for indoor water and one for outdoors is fine. Condensing into one product is a mostly illogical move as outdoor filtration has to be much greater which severely impacts flow rate. Thus disregarding and alienating the vast majority of customers using EWF products to filter tap water. EWF don’t appear to care about this.
The company continues to post zero updates about stock and has clearly given up on the UK market. The company has stopped distribution anywhere in the world of the Everyday bottle filters which were perfect for filtration and flow rate. If they made a more sustainable version of that filter, fine! But they obviously have no plans to.
EWF has gone from great to not only awful, but actually disrespectful of the customers who made their company successful. And with the UK market their behaviour is unethical and outrageous.
Excellent filter
This is an excellent filter - well-designed so the tap is low down and the water doesn’t sit at the base like some other filters. Easy to store and to use.
This company started out strong
This company started out strong, but just like everyone else, I had issues with filter replacement program. They were quick to charge, but failed to send. Emails to customer service were promptly answered, however after I was promised my order would be sent soon (the delay was due to launching a new and improved filter), and 1 month passed, I ended up canceling my subscription. I really like my Nano, so I'll try my luck through Amazon - fingers crossed!
I would avoid ordering this until they…
I would avoid ordering this until they improve their customer service and replacement filter programme.
The jug is good and seems to work well, however their customer service is quite poor. I signed up to the replacement filter programme and my filter was supposed to arrive months ago. It never did and every time I've reached out to customer service they just say it will arrive soon. Looking at other reviews, I'm starting to wonder if they are just trying to get people to spend money on the jug, even thought they know they can't fulfil filter orders. Really frustrating as it otherwise seems like a great product.
