Customer Service A+

Good customer service while overseas. EQ Bank MasterCard was accepted most places in Asia/China/etc. Small issues with preauth being locked due to multiple tries on some apps, and the Android app has issues which require the cache to be cleared before every login.

Fees are way too high

Fees are way too high, I had shares in UK as an ex Standard Life (now EQ) employee and left it in Equiniti (EQ)until I decided to buy them. I had a reference number which I indicated. This reference number was indicated in all updates I received from EQ but they charged me over 60 £ for retrieving a certificate. I had about 600$. Transfer fees + certificate research fees cost me over 130 £ (240$) plus 15 $from my financial institution. Avoid EQ cause you will get your money stolen.

You cannot trust this bank on its offers. E.g. I signed up for a specific interest rate when transferring to the bank. After 6 months it was significantly reduced. Their response - we reserve the right to change our rates anytime. That was for a 'guaranteed' rate. Next I signed up for their pre-pay credit card. After a year they now introduced fees on all ATM withdrawals, any bank or terminal. And so forth.

I would never recommend anyone to apply for the mortgage with EQ bank. People working are lazy and unprofessional. They are time wasters. Person name Katie MacPherson is really unprofessional where she don't even care for the opposite person's timeline.

Unable to pay bills at night

Unable to pay bills at night. What a stupid system. I have to pay bills urgently and whenever I click "submit", the webpage redirects itself to the login page. I've spent hours trying this loop and failed to submit. The call center is out of service at this moment. EQ is so not reliable.

You get what you pay for

Apparently service fees pay for actual service, neither of which EQ Bank has. For months (since September 2025, it's now January 2026) I have been trying to access a business account which I set up with EQ, without success. When I contact their "customer service" - they are working on it, but apparently it's beyond the capability of whoever is "working on it" to actually fix it.

Customer service

Customer service? None. Over the last year, they quietly removed the option to contact them by email. Even when the option was present, they wouldn't respond. Now, you can contact them by fax or mail. But will they reply? No, not at all. Sure, you can call them, but you won't get anything in writing. For that, you need to register a formal complaint with the EQ Bank Ombudsman. I can't wait to see what kind of chaos they will bring to the banking industry once they revamp or merge PC Financial with EQ Bank.

I’ve used them about a year now

I’ve used them about a year now. I’m super impressed.

From app chat to calls. They are very responsive and friendly. And patient.

I ordered McDonald’s for mcdelivery via the McDonalds app.

10 pc nuggets, large fries, large drink and 2 dips….

Delivery was great. Came on time. Fries was hot and no ice in the drink as requested… so what went wrong?

Well. After paying $22 for the order. The highlight of my meal, the nuggets… was MIA. Yup. No nuggies

Reached out asap to Facebook and left message via messenger asking for assistance. A full day goes by. Finally someone answers. Call this number. Called the number. Sorry we don’t handle this. You must contact the store directly. Contacted the store. Was yelled at by a lady whom I later find out during the call she is a manager and she said no we don’t handle any issues related to app orders call this number. Send request via contact form. Okay. It says thank you we will reach out in 3-5 business days… next day, called the number again and the said TOO BAD SO SAD it’s been “3” days…. Are you joking. I messaged, called, called, emailed…. For “4” days. And I’m still
At this time waiting for a reply to the online form… so when they get around to it in 5 days well it’s outside their 3 day policy. What a joke!

Called EQ and asked to file chargeback. Wasn’t even sure that was possible. But. Apparently it is possible. I filed it as item not received. And I only disputed $14 of the $22 and I think I’m being fair about this. I just wanted what I paid for.

Agent helped me file it and I was refunded within two hours.

I’m still hopping mad with McDonald’s for being so difficult and dishonest with something so simple. I will never order MCDELIVERY ever again.

Thank you to EQ for protecting your clients and helping us stand up against these merchants who have gotten so big they don’t see what the problem is when a customer is out $14 for food they paid for and didn’t get.

Glad I chose this

I’ve been with this bank for a year and pretty happy so far — with the website, customer service and the card. It has a higher interest rate than any physical bank and even some of the online banks. The card is fairly easy to use and I can choose how much is on the card and easily see my transactions.

It is surreal

It is surreal. This is definitely a joke of a bank! I have my money in the account and I can see it through my dashboard but guess what? I cannot transfer any amount from it. I needed my money for my mortgage and because of whatever is going on, I am unable to access my funds. Their system is saying I do not not have sufficient funds but clearly I have sufficient funds much more than what I was transfering. This is a nightmare! I am going to be delayed which definitely is not going to be OK.

This cannot happen if you missed a single payment with this bank. They are quick to approach the credit bureau. I cannot believe this is happening.

My account was locked with almost $1200…

My account was locked with almost $1200 inside and I was told some of the transaction was reported as fraud then I immediately get in contact with those who send money to my account during that period and they said they never did and let the bank know then they investigate my account for 30 after 30 day I did not hear from them I get in contact with them and they said money in my account will be refunded back to the originator and they won't disclose any information to me. Then if you are to refund the money back to the originator then $700 should be refunded back to my tangerine bank because out of the $1200 inside the EQ bank $700 was transfer from my tangerine bank to the EQ bank. I even reach out to those who send money to me within that period they said they never receive any money back
