I have been using the EquityZen , they are very good from the customer context, they don't do carry on for most cases. Only draw back is, we don't get premium top class companies but outside lot of investment firms do give that opportunity but will carry on percentage

Great way to get access to privately held companies looking to go public at a decent valuation. Just made my third investment.

I've never wanted to be a customer of this company, but they seem to think they can force me to become one. Their strategy to sign up customers seems dodgy at best. Out of the blue, I got an email to verify my email and get started. I disregarded it, but they keep sending me newsletters. When trying to unsubscribe, the link only leads to a sign-in page.
process itself good. Only major issue is the intransparent holding structure and the SPV vehicle.
You need to be much clearer about this

Very creepy, insecure company! Got an email from them to verify an account I never signed up for and the email said, "Don't worry if you got this by mistake it's just a test!" Responded asking for the unauthorized account to be deleted and haven't heard anything back. If they're just sending random test emails then I can't imagine what they're doing with your investments.
I’ve used EquityZen for almost a year now. Have purchased and sold on the platform. It’s a unique way to get access to private equity. The biggest hurdle for me was trust. Service has been impeccable. It’s legit.

Poor communication about fund transfer timeframe in initial offering paperwork. Should be provided prior to signing agreement.
I have a straightforward question that I need answered clearly. I transferred $100,000 to EquityZen to purchase 625 shares of Shield AI, yet I currently have no tangible proof of ownership. These shares do not appear in my investment portfolio, and when I search for them on your platform, they only appear under the “Closed” tab.
To be direct: if I were to invest several million dollars through EquityZen, would the only confirmation I receive be that the transaction is “Closed”? My original question to your team was simple — where are my shares, and why are they not visible in my portfolio? The response I received merely directed me back to the “Closed” section, which does not resolve the issue.
At this point, I need EquityZen to provide formal documentation confirming that I do, in fact, own 625 shares of Shield AI. I require tangible proof of ownership, as my funds appear to be marked only as “Closed,” with no accessible evidence of the underlying asset.
I understand that I need to further educate myself on your processes, but your client services have not provided sufficient clarity. Therefore, I am requesting that EquityZen issue stock certificates or equivalent official documentation. Please send hard copies to me through any appropriate method.
Regards,
Lance

Easy straight forward process, however on exits and reception of shares post ipo process slow and slow updates and info gathering. But onboarding and purchase process very streamlined

I get allocation to a lot of companies at valuations that you wouldn't normally get if you waited for them to hit the public markets. EZ closes the business in relatively quick time and updates you on any pricing events. Distributions have been smooth and even when we sell out of a position in the secondary private market EZ has made it a smooth process. One drawback is getting companies earlier in their fundraising process to increase returns. Our first access to most companies (from when we are first interested in them to when we can finally make an investment) is still too long and sometime there is no opportunity at all. But this is a great service overall and so far I've had no problems with their SPVs.

EquityZen is an amazing platform, I can't say enough great things about it. I've been using it for years and have always had exceptional experiences. The support is great and so are the opportunities.
