Epic Rap Battles of History (ERB) Steal Fans’ Money
Epic Rap Battles of History (ERB) on YouTube has really gone downhill lately. On their Patreon page, they have hundreds of fans that supports them each month with their hard earned money in order to see new rap battle videos. However, Peter "Nice Peter" Shukoff and Lloyd "EpicLLOYD" Ahlquist literally does everything besides releasing new rap battles. Last year they promised two new battles but only released one. It’s been a year since the last battle was released, and the second one is not in sight.
Instead, they’ve started making reaction videos to matchup suggestions. This is pretty much the most annoying thing they could have possible done. They sit and react to battles that they could make, but probably will never make since they never release any battles anymore. Why talk about matchup suggestions if you’re never going to release new battles? “Don’t talk about change just do it!” as they themselves wrote in a lyric a couple of years ago.
Also, they’ve apparently made a lyrics writing video tutorial series over on some paid third party site. What? Seriously?! We’re paying you each month to make new rap battles, and you take our money and go and spend your time and energy on making a sponsored video tutorial series that we have to pay extra for to watch? This so dumb that it’s actually stupid and almost to the point where it’s funny.
Sometimes they also do livestreams on their Patreon page, do quizzes with prices, talk about five new battles they have in development etc. However, most of this stuff is getting old and annoying. Also, when I read the updates it’s clear to me that they are overly ambitious with the new battles to the point of a dangerous perfectionism that results in us never getting new battles. Peter has been burned out before, which he shared publicly in a Reddit thread, but it’s annoying that he has not learned from this, because if he had worked on his perfectionism issues, we probably would have had new battles by now. But no, instead they’ve gone to a new level of perfectionism and advanced video production involving new software, motion capture, etc., which has just resulted in new battles never getting released.
To summarize, they do B, C, D, E, F & G - but they never do A, the battles, which is what we’re all here for and paying for on their Patreon. I want my money back since they haven’t delivered what they promised.
