I used Escrow.com to help facilitate a long-distance purchase of stereo speakers from a seller I didn’t know. It seemed like a good idea to use a third party for peace of mind, but the experience has been a nightmare.
On the seller’s side, Escrow.com repeatedly forced him to verify and re-verify his identity, wasting hours of his time. On my side, they refused to acknowledge my wire transfer—despite receiving it—because it came from my trust account. They never proactively communicated this issue. I only found out after spending hours on the phone trying to understand the delay.
Their support team offers vague apologies but refuses to take real accountability. There’s no offer of refund or credit, and they won’t commit to resolving problems within any firm timeline—even when the delay is entirely their fault.
If you're expecting professionalism or reliability, look elsewhere.

I tried uploading drivers license, tax return, picture of me holding my drivers license NUMEROUS times, just to be told to resubmit or upload another document etc etc. Verification rejected and I know how to use a computer, and I have a scanner. Very frustrating experience, thank goodness for the lady that helped me......

Horrible service. I sent my payment 2 weeks ago and they are claiming they didn't receive it.
I provided them with the FED Tracking information for the wire and all they say is that they can't see it, but they won't do any more work beyond that.
I've sent $15k US dollars and they have lost it or can't seem to find it and are incredibly unhelpful in tracking it down.
I've tried calling and all you get is a voicemail.
I just had a terrible experience with them. No amount of information was enough for them so after 1 hour of demanding that they cancel the escrow contract Ron A finally did. Yet, they didn't return the $600 Paypal payment denying that they received it, yet Paypal shows it as a completed payment. Watch out. Find another solution.
I set up a transaction with Escrow.com using my company name ending with an INC instead of an LLC. My contract with the seller had my company listed as an LLC.
Instead of changing my transaction name on Escrow to match the signed binding contract with the seller, Escrow.com asked me to provide a government issued document to prove that my company name in both INC or LLC are the same. Naturally, I don't have this so I asked for my transaction to be cancelled.
Instead of solving the issue easily, they are focused on creating red tape and focusing on the minutia. What a strange company hell bent on creating hoops for the paying customer to jump over. A clear case of a company getting in its own way of growth.
In the end, it did what it needed to do. So, in that way it works. However, the communication from the dashboard often doesnt line up with what support told me. Therefore I needed to be weirdly proactive with the chat support in order for Escrow to continue the process. It's a bit weird that I (the selller) am reaching out to Escrow on a daily basis to see if they still need anything from me. This happened twice which was very frustrating. Besides that I had to repeat basic bank account details three times across two channels (email and chat) across two days. They either don't use a CRM or they fail to update it consistently. I do think I'll look for an alternstive Escrow service next time around.
I had an amazing experience with this platform. The support team was incredibly responsive, professional, and patient throughout the entire process. When I first started using the chat, the chat wanted a transaction ID. As I had none, I just entered 000
New customers barely know what escrow means. Informing what Escrow is and what it is not. I would beta test with a different home page with a narrative of what Escrow is and What it is not and then offer up the get started button.
The chat timed out too fast. I was writing a detailed question but the chat timed out. I was writing a detailed questions as I was uncertain what your service can and can not do.
I think the concierge service you offer ought to be front and center to provide assurance to both buyer and seller. With that, Concierge service also need to be well defined and explained.
