I've travelled to Sri Lanka and used an eSim from Holafly. Thought good price/ service condition but internet was very slow and it was unlimited but you cannot use the hotspot function. Next time, I'll use Airalo. Half the price for 20GB and you have a fully functional eSim with Hotspot function. Never use Holafly again!! It wasn't in the descripton that the hotspot function is not supported.
Edit: For the customer care support, I can give 3 stars for the overall experiment.

Useless for Sri Lanka
I had an eSIM for my trip to Sri Lanka, and it did not work. Data was not reliable, and barely worked. From my unlimited data plan for 5 days that I bought, I used 200MB of it due to it just not working. Buy a physical SIM from the airport as it’s far more reliable and cheaper.

Unlimited data in rural Sri Lanka
I chose Holafly because they offer unlimited data. I only needed around 11GB over a 13 day trip to Sri Lanka, but the service was excellent. I always had coverage and it was always adequate enough for using maps, general browsing and some light streaming. My wife even streamed a Disney show while in rural Sri Lanka without any buffering. It is capable and satisfactory, although a little pricey, but we all know you need to pay for quality and this was certainly that.

Avoid! Didn't work in Sri Lanka

UK traveller to Sri Lanka. Purchased and downloaded 30day data only esim with no issue.
Upon arrival, it did not connect. Help via WhatsApp was not great, having to select options to best describe the problem. Was asked to remove and reinstall...taking screenshots to show it was on the phone which tincluded data roaming was on and that there was no data connection.
Was then asked to do a "general reset", None of this worked and I was then forced to obtain a suitable Sri Lankan sim card which was alot less than the cost of the £56.05 Holafly charged.
2 says later, via the WhatsApp, I requested a refund. Again, having to select options as to why I want a refund.."IT DID NOT WORK". Their autobot then continued as ask the same questions for why I want a refund.
In the end, I gave up!
So my rating is 1☆, and that's only because there isn't a 0.
AVOID THIS COMPANY.
Yes, many have given 4 & 5 ☆ reviews, but there are critical reviews which hi-light issues relating to no service and obtaining refunds. I doubt I'll get my £ back.
Ended up paying £15 for a data sim. Cheaper and it works with no issues

We had a problem with my mobile not connecting to eSim and Holafly were helpfully to try solve it. They refunded me all!
On the other site, I payed for my wife's mobile to use the eSim tariff for Asia, but in Sri Lanka it did not function, Still wondering why!

I heard about E sims and said I would…
I heard about E sims and said I would try it on my recent trip to Sri Lanka. I had travelled to Italy earlier in the year and bought a SIM card and €40 credit for it and it never worked once. I will be using E sims from holafly in future the connection and service was amazing and even when travelling around the country and to remote locations. My expectations were surpassed. No drop in network and constant data and no limits to it. I used to buy SIM cards when travelling and I will never buy a sim again after this.E sim all the way especially with Holafly

Great solution for data abroad
Used Holafly for an eSim to travel to Sri Lanka for 10 days. Was great and integrated with my iPhone very easily. I had full data when I was there - just like at home. Will definitely use again in the future.
