This was my first time using an eSim. Previously it was always a case of paying the $10 per day Roaming charges with Telstra for a capped amount of data with high charges for additional data. Setting... See more

Very bad coverage in Costa Rica
It was no problem to get the eSim, instal it and start using in Costa Rica. The problem started when I realized Holafly only contracts Liberty network in Costa Rica and they have really bad coverage. I was constantly without internet connection! If I went again I would just buy the local Kolbi sim card. It was super easy to get in any supermarket and they have some tourist package with internet.
EDIT: After writing this review, they have contacted me and gave me partial refund, which I appreciate greatly. I would still not recommanded this option to anyone. We struggled a lot without internet connection.

Holafly delivers as promised!
Travelling to Costa Rica for 10 weeks, we needed a data plan. Holafly gave us unlimited data for a very reasonable price. It was pretty easy to install the e-sims on our iPhones. The coverage was excellent and we had all the data access we needed. Their ordering website was very easy to use.
Works great for Costa Rica travel!
I Used Holafly while travelling throughout Costa Rica and it was the best money spent! Only had no service a couple times in remote areas which was expected, otherwise had great fast service the entire trip. Esim is easy to install and use. Would highly recommend for Costa Rica travel.
Worked great in Costa Rica
Easy and reliable
Went to Jaco in Costa Rica and never had an issue with connection other than being in the jungle off grid where nobody had signal which was intended. I enjoyed the service and highly recommend. It was only $40 for unlimited data for 5 days.
Bad connection
HI Pablo.
My name is Anders Lundin.
I´m been using your e-sim in Costa Rica.
It's work part time during the traveling.
You promise on your website to "Stay connected wherever you go” And
“We give travelers peace of mind wherever they are..."
You are very meticulous about charging me for the service.
Under the holiday I put a lot of time try to connect with help from your support without any success.
The support promised me money back and say that they are sorry.
Now they say that I can have “partial refund”.
I am also sorry and regret that I trusted your customer promises and agreements.
I work as a lecturer with 25,000 followers on social media and now have a good case to tell, about the difference between words and actions.
My advice to you is to remove the text about " We give travelers peace of mind wherever they are " from the website because it is not true.

Life saver
I needed to complete an urgent task from work while commuting in Costa Rica. I bought the e sim and it worked perfectly all the way through! It saved my day.
eSIM for Costa Rica
The eSIM I purchased for Costa Rica was simple to install, and running within minutes. The price for unlimited data was the best I could find. Coverage was good but slow in some areas.
Customer service representative…
Customer service representative Alejandra, was patient and helpful I was in a crunch. I had been working long hours in the states and had a family member pass away I did not have time or was to tired to realize I didn’t set up communication arrangements for international travel. Having a later model iPhone “eSIM” is the only option for me. I bought plan in COSTA RICA but could not activate, because I didn’t contact my carrier stateside first. I was able to receive refund which will take 5 to 10 days. I would use service again in the future. My advice is talk to phone carrier to unlock prior to travel, purchase plan, install it , and activate it after you arrive in destination country.
Hector made it really easy!
Hector made it really easy for me to install the eSIM and answered all my questions immediately via Whatsapp. Now, I can travel to Costa Rica without stress. Thanks again.
Perfect from start to finish
Perfect from start to finish! I traveled through Peru and Costa Rica for 5 weeks using holafly and didn't have a single problem with my mobile data at any point. It's certainly not a cheap service, but I guess that's the price one has to pay for convenience. Fully recommend!
I was traveling in a country that I was…
I was traveling in a country that I was not familiar with the roads. I had a family with children. Hours into my adventure I could not get internet. You need internet for Google maps to keep working. I could not communicate with hola fly because I had no interest. My children were scared, we were up in the mountains. We drive around aimlessly. late to destination, cost us money. I will never again use Hola fly. Once I did get wifi, I contacted hola fly. on a number of occasion I had this situation fixed but again would lose internet during my travels. On the day I canceled the esim I was waiting for hours for someone to get back to me. Totally unacceptable. on my first trip to Costa Rica 2 years ago I connect with my service provider and I had absolutely no issues. This trip I was recommended by The Dufresnes and I wish I didn't listen. Yes it's all good, they refunded my balance remaining which I think I should have been refunded the entire 14 days. Yes they gave me a 10% coupon for next time, which I will never use. All in All, horrible experience ruined my 4 days of travel and I would not recommend Hola Fly to anyone. Unless the person knows where they're going and has hours of time to fix the esim problems then go for it. For me never again!!!

Fast and effective
I had a problem in Costa Rica trying to find connection and the supoort team helped so so fast and effective! Good work guys
Would never use again
Would never use again. Feel cheated for £40. Checked with hola fly told good Costa Rica coverage and compatible with Iphone 13.
Purchased sim on day 1 of 14 day Costa Rica tour. Worked for few hours then when moved on next day stopped working with no connection since.
Have had to wait to for WiFi connections to contact customer support with lengthy delays in responding meaning trying to stay in one spot for over hour on subsequent days on holiday to get sorted with no reply or fix before having to move on again. Each day need to restart the process of asking for help from beginning.
Gave up day 5. Was told problem couldn’t be fixed and would be considered for refund but will take up to 10 days for decision and if sim used only partial refund allocated. Awaiting decision after paying £40 for few hours service and using too much holiday time trying to sort.
Be wary of purchase.
Despite having a reply to this review stating they would be in touch nearly 3 weeks on and have heard
Nothing and received no refund from application for refund on 6.8.24.

Great coverage and speed at a very competitive price. I have used Holafly in Mexico, Costa Rica, Iceland, and the UK. All were fantastic. Highly Recommended
5 star🌟 easy
Bought 23 days unlimited data in Japan. Travelling around Japan: Osaka, Hiroshima, Kyoto, Kanazawa, Matsumoto, Kawaguchiko, Tokyo.
Easy to buy, easy to install, high speed connection (5G) almost 100% of the time.
Excellent customer service.
5 star 🌟 easy
Do it again in Costa Rica in a couple of months.
Choose a local sim and not Holafly
Really bad service and internet stability in Costa Rica. Paid 36€ for 10 days and had service in very limited areas, where you could find cafes and places with free WiFi. It was really slow the little time i would have connection.
In Costa Rica price for internet is a fraction, next time better off with one regional SIM card.
Process of getting any sort of reimbursement tedious. Many emails exchanged, first i got an offer of 3€! over my 36€… quite ridiculous. After escalating to PayPal, they offer 12€. Honestly this is a ripoff for the poor service given, plus a poor customer service experience.

Truly terrible service in Costa Rica
Truly terrible service in Costa Rica.
First off, they have no coverage maps. Why? Because they don’t cover much. Customer support said, “as long as you’re in the city it’ll be fine”. Uhhhhh…. I’m in the country.
Second: all traffic is routed through Hong Kong! So you get ping latencies of 850ms!
Nearly worthless.
I do have to say that customer service is actually pretty darn good! Just the actual service is bad.

Great holiday use in Costa Rica from UK
Really convenient way to set up to use overseas, great online real person chat to help choose the right tariff and to set you up. Used for 10 days in Costa Rica from the UK
First two weeks good and last week no internet
So, I took out a 3 week e-sim plan thought the Holafly website. It worked seemlessly until it didn't. I got two weeks and a bit. I spent 49 minutes with Customer Services who were nice but my issue wasn't resolved. At €47 for three weeks I expect it to work for thee weeks and, yet, here I am in Costa Rica with no functioning internet. It feels like someone has stolen my money. Will never buy anything from this company. Ruined the last part of my holiday.
