Monastery of St John the Baptist (Online Bookshop) Reviews

I’ ve received it much sooner than expected. Really nice package as well! I have bought previously other books so I knew what to expect 🤗

Amazing service, lovely packaging. Overall great experience!

Great, friendly and professional service!
Bought a 2026 calendar for my son.
It arrived quickly and he was very happy with it.
Thank you 🙏

Carefully packaged with love , made my day . Thank you so much , will order again soon , God bless you

The monastry took such care of my order. My book came quickly and was packaged with care. It also included a bookmark and a card with Elder Sophrony's image on it, which i will treasure. Thank you. I have just read the first chapter of We Shall See Him As He Is. It has already spoken to me and touched me deeply. It feels like synchronicity as it is speaking directly to my sense of my current situation, which is always such a blessing. I am looking forward to reading more.

It is always a great honour to receive the Holy books and audio books from The Holy Monastery of Saint John The Baptist. Reading and listening to them enlightens us and gives great joy to guide and help us to understand the path of truth.

I bought two books which are presents and they both arrived promptly which is great. Had one gift wrapped which was beautifully wrapped with much attention. Thank you to all for the fantastic service.

Excellent swift and caring service. Thank you

The beautiful books I ordered arrived very promptly with timely updates regarding the order delivery. The books themselves are excellent both in their craft and their content. I would recommend essexmonastery.com to other potential customers and am likely to buy from them again.

I almost hesitate to open the box because the container itself is so carefully and tidily packed, and I don't want to disturb even the outer promise of what I know will be a richer interior! But I will, shortly, knowing that anything and everything produced by the Monastery is of such high quality and beautiful presentation. Meanwhile, I simply look forward ... :-)

Hello dear Fathers and Mothers. It is always a pleasure to open your packages and see how carefully the books are prepared. Thank you very much. As for Father Zacharias's writings, I always feel how he makes the living presence of Christ so vivid and present. It is a great privilege to be able to read his profound teachings. Glory to God.

Excellent books (content is extraordinary as you can see on their website, binding is high quality), and the service and shipping are likewise superb. I have placed at least a half dozen separate orders and they were each promptly dispatched and received, including secure packaging that assures the books arrive in perfect condition (and have beautiful, giftworthy interior wrapping with bookmarks). While everything about buying from the monastery is provided at a top level for worldly concerns, the writings in the books themselves will lift you beyond with encouragement and inspiration toward the Divine.

The books I purchased arrived beautifully, and lovingly wrapped, with flowers!

The books themselves are full of the Holy Spirit, from this Holy Monastery, for which I am truly grateful.

To visit this Holy Monastery is Heavenly.

Very smooth service. I was kept informed of my purchase at all time. Books were packaged very well and they gave me icons of Saint Siluan and Saint Sophrony with the books, which was a lovely surprise. Please keep me informed with your new books!

A prompt response and courteous service will win me over every time.

Without question, I plan on ordering more. But not until I'm done with these, and my wallet says it's okay 😄

Easy ordering after payment the book arrived within a week. Great communication over the whole proces en the book was wel packet and arrived in good order.

Brilliant service, speedy delivery, very well packaged, good communication throughout. The book is of excellent quality. A blessing. Thank you.

I will start this review by saying that the content of all the books the monastery publishes that I have read has been exceptional.

For those of us who hunger for the deeper life with God they provide insights and bread crumbs that are helpful, inspiring and challenging. Definitely things to aim for……

As for the physical books themselves - I ordered a few last spring and just recently downloaded an audio book from the monastery and I have been so impressed by both!

As for the physical books - they are truly beautiful!
The binding, the ribbon book marker and all the other “little things” that take a book from being functional to being something special are there.

The ordering process was easy and being in Canada (where I am used to very high mailing fees from places much closer) I was amazed at how reasonable the postage was.

My more recent purchase of an audio book has been equally impressive.
To be able to listen and contemplate such works while out and about - or doing mundane tasks is a real blessing.

I am hoping they will issue more of them soon!

Fast, efficient, courteous service. Book very well-wrapped.
