HBXL Estimating Service Reviews 

I was extremely impressed with the quality, detail and professionalism of the building cost estimation reports and spreadsheets provided by the HBXL Estimating Service.
What really stood out was the personal service from Senior Estimator Simon Wild. It was clear from the outset that this wasn't a generic or automated exercise. Simon took the time to understand my self-build project in detail, and that level of involvement was reflected throughout the reports.
Before using HBXL, I had tried cheaper automated and AI-based estimation services, but I found them difficult to trust and ultimately a waste of money. In contrast, HBXL gave me complete confidence that every aspect and nuance of my design had been carefully considered and accurately reflected in the estimate.
I now have a comprehensive suite of reports, spreadsheets and supporting data that will allow me to budget, monitor and track costs throughout my entire self-build journey.
For anyone serious about understanding and controlling the costs of a self-build project, I would highly recommend HBXL. The quality of the information and the confidence it provides are worth every penny!

As a result our prospective client awarded us the contract!

Last month, I requested an estimate for a project in North London and paid an upfront fee of £799 plus VAT. What I received in return is disappointing. I have never seen such a poorly prepared estimate from an estimation service firm. The estimate lacks clarity on how the values are calculated; there are almost no material quantities listed, and many work activities are missing from the cost breakdown, which technically makes the estimate irrelevant to the project. The client’s paperwork is visually appealing and presents a great first impression! However, upon further review, the work descriptions and financial figures appear questionable. A few days after receiving the estimate from HBXL, I wrote a brief email to them confirming that the prepared paperwork was insufficient for acceptance. To date, I have not received a response from the firm. In summary, I can conclude that HBXL Estimating Service is poorly managed and unreliable. Its services are overpriced, making it an untrustworthy source for construction project estimation.

5 Stars not just once or twice, but every time we use this service - and we use them a lot! Reliable, friendly and knowledgable staff - a 'can do' attitude where nothing is too much trouble. The expertise of the estimators and their knowledge of the software they're using, not only wins us business time and again, but also lightens our load, allowing us to focus on what we do best!

Sadly no response and wasted my time. Met The Build It Estimating Service at a self build show, very polite and sounded just what I needed, liked the idea of a Free 3d design too. I proceed to add my documents online and wait for my quote for the price to estimate. 7 days went by and I heard nothing so I telephoned, 'sorry for the delay he said, I'll get somebody right on it and get someone to call you back' that call never came and no quote. Wasted over 10 days waiting for a quote. should have tried another estimating company 1st. found another in the end who where easy to talk to and deal with. If you don't want the work at least let people know. would not use 'buildit at estimating-service' again

a great bit of software for speeding those quotes up, it takes a bit of playing with to get used to it, but it does get the estimates made quickly and professional looking, the one thing i would add, check your local material prices and adjust accordingly otherwise you will take a hit

I am very pleased with what has been provided and the level of detail included. I now have a basis upon which to budget and a clearer understanding of the process. As a self builder it will provide a useful benchmark for the various trades and contractors that I will need to employ, along with a good idea as to material costs. This would have taken me many hours that I simply did not have.

Working with the estimator at HBXL was a really worthwhile piece of work. The estimator was knowledgeable and took time to alter specifics and listen to queries. Overall the final result was a detailed document which is proving really valuable to our self build experience.

All of the team at HBXL are amazing!! Patient, helpful, knowledgeable and professional. The service is exceptional. Would highly recommend!

No issues or reasons to use anybody but Hbxl. 1st class service Every time.
