Very encouraging

I enjoy the lessons. However I struggle to hear the answers when everyone is allowed to speak at once. Also I would like a study group for Ulpan 2 at a convenient time. I cannot make any of the current ones. I would like one on a Tuesday at any time between 10.00 am and 7.00 pm

The classes are wonderful, but ...

The classes are wonderful and the teachers are all excellent. I've used the classes, study groups, and seminars. Every teacher I have interacted with has been knowledgeable and friendly, even the one that sounds like a drill sergeant. There is one big problem with the course. That problem is the frequent extraneous noises from other students. Examples are: barking dogs, other people in the house, background music, children and grandchildren. I'm paying a lot of money for the courses and want to pay attention! The noise from others interferes with students' focus and learning.

Overall excellent

Overall, excellent experience. I am learning more and learning it more completely than other methods I have tried. Much better than Duolingo!! It is sometimes unclear what the teachers' expectations are, such as homework and when to email assignments. My questions have always been answered, however. The immersive discussion groups can be challenging, especially when you reach the Intermediate stage, as these are Ulpan 2 through 4. Despite this, the teachers make an effort to incorporate speaking cadence and expression to enhance understanding. It is also appreciated when they recognize the different abilities of students in these mixed sessions. Although I have not yet made use of it, it is also beneficial to be able to retake a course or attend a beginning discussion group when you have just entered the intermediate phase. . I receive a fair amount of communication regarding special tuition breaks; however, I have signed up for Ulpan 2-4, so this can be

Rosen Hebrew School Ulpan 1

Our lessons are enjoyable and well thought out. I love the fact that there are so many extra Study Groups that you can go to, in addition to the weekly lesson, and my husband, (who is doing the course too,) and I are both attending between 3-5 Study Groups each, a week. As some of these cover material that we haven't yet reached in our weekly lesson, we are being challenged a lot! However, the teachers are aware that for the open Study Groups pupils are at various stages of the course, and most are very good at explaining things so you have a good chance of being able to join in, and learn new concepts.

Excellent Modern Hebrew

I had Ulpan Aleph-Bet for five and a half months in Israel on a kibbutz, then Ulpan Gimel for another five and a half month program. I tested into Ulpan 7 in Rosen, but I'm in Ulpan 6 due to scheduling. It is excellent! The kibbutz ulpanim in Israel back in the 1970's were great, but their weak points were that at least back then, class presentations were receptive with little expressive practice, and there was very little reading, and no writing except for the alphabet at the beginning and notes throughout the programs. Rosen insists on live practice, and I'm in the academic program with graduate school in Jewish studies still on my mind, so credits can transfer. This keeps my nose to the fire. I also download class MP4's for future reference, and of course I have the coursework (no pun intended) hardcopy and downloaded electronically. I highly recommend this.

Howard, thank you for sharing such a thoughtful review and for drawing on your long journey with Hebrew, from the kibbutz ulpanim of the 1970’s to your studies with us today. It’s inspiring to see how Rosen’s focus on live practice, reading, and writing complements your academic aspirations and deepens the path you’ve been on for decades. The way you preserve recordings and materials for ongoing study reflects the very spirit of Hebrew’s revival, living, dynamic, and always evolving, and we’re honored to be part of your continued pursuit of Jewish studies.

Educational and fun

We love our teacher! She is patient, kind, and most importantly - our kids look forward to the lessons with her!

I love how the material is taught, and think my children have benefited from it a lot.

I would recommend to anyone who is looking to learn English.

I have a wonderful teacher

I have a wonderful teacher, Niva ben Yaakov, who is so encouraging. I have been learning at the Rosen School of Hebrew for 10 years and it has been a pleasure. I find it easier to learn in a private lesson than in a class.

Ask Questions BEFORE Payments Are Made

Originally, I had given a one-star rating to e-Teacher, with a very lengthy review under the title of “Disappointed & Disillusioned.”

However, I have done an extreme edit here, completely removing the previous review and changing my rating to three stars.

Out of gratitude and appreciation to Chris Abrams (head of the Customer Relations department) for his time, attention and dedication to resolving my “requested refund” issue, I will say that I hope our direct exchange of dialogue during several phone calls provided enough honest feedback to keep the Israeli Institute of Biblical Studies in good standing.

Although there are still negative reports floating out there on the web, I encourage anyone considering registering for classes with this Institution to write down and ask all pertinent questions before any transaction and payment is made.

I wish you all a positive learning experience and in the event of misleading and miscommunicated information, I hope you benefit from the direct support of representatives like Chris Abrams, who definitely came through with his expressed desire to make things right.

Thank you & Shalom 🙏🏽

Impressive learning online

First of all, I’m happy that communicate via WhatsApp is not only get news or promotions for courses but also a good way to contact and get fast response from your team. The course I learn at moment is good enough for me to learn. I like the way teacher trying to get all students to involve on reading and answer questions which mean the teacher can correct our mistakes and we don’t get bored for learning. Impressive!

Uncovering Truth

There are so many layers of truth that is observed in the original languages. It brings clarity and depth of understanding that gives answers to many denominational differences and debunks Biblical contradiction claims. It makes so much more sense in its culture and is so beautiful in it's original language.
