I just got the Xreal 1S and i like it alot, especially with the new 3D feature. Paired with my Xbox Ally X, it gives me a massive 1080p monitor wherever I go. For me this is the couch, traveling or bed. The virtual screen is perfect, sharp, and enhances the 7inch ally screen.

Gaming performance is smooth and responsive, and the sense of scale makes everything feel more cinematic. Fast-paced games, racing titles, and open worlds especially benefit from the big-screen experience. It genuinely feels like you’re inside the game rather than just playing it.

The real highlight is the 3D mode. It’s impressive for 2D platform games. The depth feels natural, environments have a dimensional presence, and the immersion jumps to another level.

Comfort and portability are also good. The glasses are lightweight and easy to wear for long sessions.

My only wish is that future updates improve the FPS performance and in 3D mode a bit more. It’s already very enjoyable, but smoother frame rates would make the experience better. Also some open world games can get some improvements.

Overall, i like the Xreal 1S and it is a nice step up form my Xreal air 2 pro.

Pros:
- Very good 3dof
- Superb electrochromic dimming
- Comfortable
- Wide field of view (Fov)

Cons:
- There are areas in the glasses that are not sharp. Not just the edges but also areas mid-screen, bands of unsharpness. Not really noticeable with media consumption but definitely with productivity (text)
- You cannot have ultra-wide mode as the default, switching to ultra-wide restarts Samsung DeX which is somewhat annoying.
- I contacted support for the blurry issue and was told to make a photo or video of the issue. This is not possible, you cannot position a camera well enough to highlight these intricate lens distortions. I was too late to return my glasses within the 30-day return window and will have to live with it.
- No EU address on their EU shop, you will not receive a proper invoice and this makes it hard / impossible to file this as a business expense.

I had high hopes for the XREAL Pro, especially after seeing so many positive reviews on YouTube and tech blogs. Unfortunately, the product did not live up to the hype.

I tested the glasses thoroughly across multiple PCs, with different cables (including a DP cable with USB-A to USB-C), and even purchased extra accessories that weren’t included – all in an attempt to get a stable experience. Still, the device kept disconnecting:

The glasses frequently dropped the connection after a short period, especially when watching Netflix.

Moving around caused them to disconnect completely and restart.

Sometimes, they failed to detect any video signal at all, despite everything being properly connected.

It felt like being a beta tester for a product that still belongs in development. I spent an unnecessary amount of time troubleshooting and buying extra gear – something you definitely don’t expect from a device in this price range.

The result? Return. I’m choosing to wait a few more years and hope that someone finally gets this technology right. Right now, it’s simply not good enough.
