Really bad and sad customer service

Really bad and sad customer service. Took EUClaim almost 2 years to find out that they couldn't start a case in NL and had to escalate the issue to a partner. After this poor service they just charge you extra costs without any other explanation and not even taking time to write a proper response. Not recommending this at all!

I am sorry to hear about your experience with EUclaim, Jake. I understand it's a pity that we didn't bring your claim to a successful ending. We would have loved to help you to get your compensation, but sometimes it isn't possible due to jurisprudence and more information about the flight we obtain later. I would have liked to see your claim and explain why certain choices were made. Unfortunately this isn't possible, because you didn't leave a claim number. If you would like more information, you can always send a message to our customer care via customercare@euclaim.co.uk. ~Anouk

Waist of money

Waist of money. It's better to contact the airline itself as this company (in the Netherlands) is taking more than one third of the claim for themselves. This is one of the easiest ways of earning money from passengers. If I only knew beforehand that I will need to pay this crazy amount to them I would have NEVER contacted them. I will receive a claim of 250 euros which 101 euros will go straight into the pocket of Euclaim. It's just not fair earning money on passengers who've already been through the discomfort of delay.
Oh and yes if you click on the successfee they do mention about the costs. But this is not being advertised. They are only advertising and telling you are going to get €250!! If you’re going to be transparent then advertise you are going to get €250 minus €101!! So it will be €149! That would be a more transparent way instead of only mentioning it somewhere on the website or hide it somewhere in the conditions. Nevertheless they are ofcourse trying to get you to file the claim through them so they won’t advertise their ridiculous 29% fee plus administration cost. Always try it through the airline or your insurance company (creditcard pherhaps) and only use these kind of companies when you have no options left.

Our service is transparent since they are published on our website and in the terms of conditions. You have to accept these before we can handle your claim. You chose to file your claim with us, knowing that we would do all the work for you. Our no win, no fee service is meant to aid airline passengers hassle-free and ensures us to help all passengers for the same price, as a lot of claims have to go to court. You are always free to contact the airline yourself before filing a claim with us. Nonetheless, I hope you will enjoy the compensation. ~Anouk

It took a while but we got paid

It took a while but we got paid.
We got transferred to Bott & Co because the airline was not responding. I think people should make themselves aware of how this process works. Some airlines are simply not replying, so to move forward in the procedure it takes months. They have 3 months to reply, if you need to send them 3 notices, it will take 9 months minimum. Some airlines will respond to them immediately because they know those guys will be following up. It does not cost you anything, they will only be paid if they follow up all the way to the end. Again, many people blame them, but it is actually not their fault. You just need to be patient.

Would recommend EU Claim as my claim was refused by KLM when I initially claimed direct from them. It has taken almost 3 years to get the 250 Euros per person we were entitled to but thanks to EU Claim pursuing the matter the claim was settled successfully! Thank you EU Claim.

Lack of communication

I try to make a claim with them for my delayed flight. On their website, they claim they are no win no fee, however the terms and conditions stated certain additional charges that may be incurred by the claimant such as disbursements that are not subject to winning the case. When I sent them an email asking to clarify these terms I got no response and they just kept harassing me with daily reminder emails to sign my terms and conditions.
Would not recommend

Do not enter into an agreement with EUclaim. They are fraudsters.

Do not enter into an agreement with this company. I had a delayed flight over two years ago coming. And found euclaim online, so decided to pursue the action with them. After a little correspondence from them, and not hearing back from them for over a year, I decided to pursue to the compensation by myself and got the whole compensation claim by myself from the actual airline. After about another year, I get a message from EUclaim saying that the airline has paid out your compensation, but because of our services you owe us 450 pound. "Please deposit the money into the bank account in 14 days".. So apparently after doing nothing, I was suppose to pay them money for a service that I ended up having to do myself. Terrible communication, terrible website, terrible service. I advise strongly to not use this company by any means.

Time wasters

It took them 13 months to tell me they did not deal with that particular country (Portugal!) and flight. This is after sending them a whole of lot of documents (boarding pass, tickets etc). This has been a total waste of my time, they are worse than the airline.

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME

4 jet2 flights were cancelled at the same time, including mine, which was "caused" by a lightning strike. Are you telling me all 4 flights got struck by lightning at the same time!? Ive waited 2 years for euclaim to get the money and they basically told me they have withdrawn the claim because jet2 said it was caused by a lightning strike so they dont need to pay out. GREAT, ive waited 2 years for them just to accept their word for it. Jet2 are fraudsters and euclaim are unreliable, lazy and pathetic. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.

Crooks

Crooks. They sat on my case for 2 years and 3months and then sold it on too Bott and Co without telling me which I think is unlawful but after all this time I've lost the will to continue. Things were made even worse when having heard nothing from EU Claim I instructed another company and ended up paying £495 in fees for being in breach of their conditions. So after all this time Ive paid £495 to them for my 6 hour delay 2.5 years ago. Bott and Co did agree to reduce my fees so Im hopeful that we will at least get something, so out of a possible £1200 we will get approx £350. My advice, don't fly with Thomson Airways, don't use Flight Delay.co.uk or EU Claim. Bott and Co seem ok so far. Why oh why when our politicians create a new industry with regulations like this don't they ensure its regulated properly . Vultures circling around a small carcase just appalling.

Dear Mr Shaw,
As you state your case took a long time to conclude because the airline did not respond appropriately to our claim letters and we were forced to transfer your claim to solicitors. We transferred your claim to the solictors firm Bott & Co which we informed you of and which we are entitled to do in accordance with the Terms and Conditions you read and signed when you filed the claim. I can see that Bott & Co have been successful in your case. We kept you updated of the progress of your claim and informed you of every step we took to ensure your rights would be upheld.
Without informing us you instructed a third party. From what I understand from your comments, you were held responsible for their costs. While this is very unfortunate for you we cannot be held responsible for this third party and the contract you signed with them. If you have any further questions about this do not hesitate to contact us: 020 3318 3583. ~Kelsie

Flight delayed in June for about 5 …

Flight delayed in June for about 5 hours. I knew we should be entitled to €400 compensation each, but the airline was claiming a delayed departure time that was not accurate. I had no access to official records in order to rebut this, and hadn't the time or inclination to pursue the claim myself so contacted EUClaim. Our claim was transferred to Bott & Co. and net compensation of €260 each was transferred to our bank accounts in August. Am very happy with the service as I would have received nothing otherwise.

Long wait for nothing

After a long period of waiting and sending them everything they requested, they transferred me to Bott & Co (without my permission) claiming that it will be under the same terms. Turns out Bott & Co charges slightly more and their terms are very dodgy. Of course, Bott & Co assures you that they are obliged to send you those terms, but you must trust them that they won't act on them (sure..). Well, after receiving daily emails from Bott & Co, I decided to write them back and confront them about the difference in contract terms and fee, and their response was vague and useless. Eventually they wrote me again saying that there is no way they can win my case. Thanks for the wasted time, Euclaim. I would gladly give you 5 stars for the experience up to the point being referred to Bott & Co. At least be honest about the situation, I didn't have high hopes on winning this anyway.

I'm sorry to hear about your disappointing experience with our service, Adrian. Bott & Co. are a solicitors firm and are accredited by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. This is the reason that their Terms and Condtions differ slightly and it is necessary for clients to sign these. They are bound by regulations and rules that cannot be avoided. As stated in those Terms, they work completely on the basis of no-win, no-fee and no charges or legal costs will ever be transferred to clients.
EUclaim and Bott & Co. both informed you clearly that the fees as signed by you with EUclaim would continue to be in force upon transfer to their offices. Our fee was therefore not going change.

EUclaim tried to find the best solution for your case by working together with a solicitors firm that is specialized in passenger rights and the EC Regulation 261/2004. Based on their extensive legal work they offered you the best advice on your claim. Unfortunately, based on previous legal cases concerning passenger rights, you are not entitled to financial compensation. ~Kelsie

Waste of Time

After almost 2 years of no action from EUclaim - each time I was asking for updates they were repeatedly replying that "your claim has been transferred to our legal department" - they decided to transfer my claim to another law firm "Bott & Co" with much less appealing Terms and Conditions. Indeed, I had already signed the power of attorney from EUclaim but now Bott & Co is asking me to sign "If you lose you pay your opponents charges and disbursements".

We understand that it is very frustrating for the claim to be taking this long. We share this sentiment and are doing our best to ensure that your claim is dealt with in the most efficient manner possible. As you can imagine, we are dependent on the reply from the airline and at this time they have decided to not comply with the EC Regulation 261/2004 and we have been forced to request solicitors to initiate legal proceedings. While it is frustrating that additional documents must be signed, Bott & Co an accredited solicitors film and are bound by strict regulator procedures. Unfortunately this means that they require a separate signature from you. At no time is EUclaim attempting to simply pass your claim to a third party, only to ensure that we can achieve the best result for you in your claim against the airline. All work is done on the basis of No-Win, No-fee and you will be kept up to date of the progress of your claim. ~Kelsie
