Worked fine for 10 months. Died on me so called customer services. Everything went down hill from then. D7 now been at shop for almost 4 months and no closer to seeing it again. Email reply’s from letmerepair Scotland are just be with you in 3-6 days or waiting for parts. Still trying to get someone to take ownership of problem instead of fobbing off to others.
I expected more
I was excited when my Neato D3 connected was delivered today. My joy quickly faded when the device didn't work and I couldn't get any customer support! After 5 attempts to reset the device, reinstall the app and go through the set up process, the device continue with "having trouble" tap her to learn more. If only the tap worked. I gave up researching what batt_deep_discharge met and returned the device for a refund. The device not working didn't upset me as much as not being able to connect with anyone for support when the instructions clearly stated "need help, call customer support!"
Would not recommend - terrible customer service
I bought a Neato Botvac Connected.
For quite some time I had this bot and it worked pretty well (obviously some adjustments had to be made but overall I'm fairly happy with this part), right up untill around January 2018 where the bot would not start anymore. According to the troubleshooting I did with the vendor, the device was proclaiming it wasn't clean and would not start.
I had cleaned everything, shown them pictures of it all and they agreed this was an error on the bot - so it got sent to rep and I got a new one immediately.
In my country - this means a full on new 2 year warranty with regular use, so for me, this was actually pretty good.
Unfortunately, this is when the problems started - after about 3 months, the bot died again.. With the same symptoms. I cleaned it up, sent reference to the old case where I'd gotten a new device, but this time, I was to send in the robot for repair - that was fine, as shipping & everything was free... So I sent it in.
I got it back, the repair team saying they "cleaned it" and that it worked afterwards.
Seeing as how I followed all guides of maintenance & cleaning to the letter (and then some), I was a little disappointed so I asked what they cleaned. The vendor sent the query but got no answer.
Three months later, same thing - same rep, same situation.
Got it back again.
Unfortunately, the third time my warranty had JUST ended (we're talking weeks here), so of course Neato wouldn't cover my expenses this time around.
I proclaimed my concern saying that the past two times the device was "simply cleaned" (provided case references and all), and that this MUST mean Neato are not disclosing fully how to clean their bots, meaning they will rather easily eventually break. The customer support could of course not do anything about this.. And this is why I am now writing this review.
This is not the guy/girl on the hotline (Customer Support's) fault.
This is the product and the management behind them who have made these choices actively so that they can cash out on their product.
Don't buy Neato.
Fragile robot - good customer service
The robot is good for a year and then it stops working...
I bought a D3 connected two years ago and after few months it stopped working following a firmware update. It was still under warranty so it was sent back to the repair centre and I received a new one free of charge, but the year after the warranty expired and the robot breaks again even if you religiously clean it and service it.
Please be aware that this thing has a problem every year.
This time the repair centre asks for £75 (€90) just to collect it and see what’s wrong. £75?!!!!?!!! On top of that you will have to pay for the repair!
UPDATE: added more stars - the Neato customer service is really good - they offered to collect the faulty robot free of charge and repaired even if out of warranty. I have to admit that I was pretty upset at the beginning because this expensive robot breaks too often but what Neato lack in robustness, Neato definitely make it up with their good customer service.
Basically I am happy with the bot (D3…
Basically I am happy with the bot (D3 connected).
But there are two problems with the design of the bot, which I do not like, of which any buyer should be aware of:
1. A better engineered bot would be easier to clean. It is almost impossible to clean the brush from all the hair which has been caught by the axis, Why? Simply because it is impossible to disassemble the brush. Bad for the owner, good for Neato, because now they can sell more spare parts.
2. Similar problem with the battery: It lives barely for 24 months. Then you have to replace it. Why? Because the Neato engineers did not find it necessary to implement the basic battery management a Li-Ion battery needs in order to stay healthy. Again, bad for the customer, good for Neato, because they can sell their replacement battery (bad for planet earth too, but who cares..).
If you want to spend all your time vacuum cleaning buy a Neato
If you want to spend all your time vacuum cleaning get a Neato. Support is helpful, but you spend hours trying to make the machine work, and it never does. It's useless and they promise what the machine will never deliver. Really, really disappointing!!!
when it works
when it works, it does it's job. so frustrating to get support when it quits working. less than a year old. i cleaned after EVERY use. customer support so pathetic, i threw it in the trash. recently learned from bobsweep vacuum
that amazon won't share purchasing info with supplier, so the customer support process will wear you down before you can get a resolution. shame on you amazon! and i suggest these companies find other sources for selling their products. at some point poor reviews will kill sales.
Good when it works
Good when it works, but most of the time it doesn't. You've been warned.
I had a Roomba that was outdated since I had it for 6+ years altho it still worked great but i decided to upgrade. It was a difficult decision to choose between iRobot or Neato products, but I decided to go with Neato ( big mistake ).
The Roomba required almost no maintenance, i had to set the schedule once i bought it and empty the dustbin every other day or so. Also I needed to replace the filter every six months and purchase a new battery every 18 months.
I had the same expectations for Neato, should have read these reviews first.
With Neatos D7 (top of the line and most advanced model ) you never know what fail will be the next.
Here are a few that I experienced so far ( i have a strong feeling there will be more):
It can’t find its base, just rolling around the apartment until the battery gets low.
Some times it gets stuck just in the middle of the room or in the corner and just sits there with an annoying humming noise.
The D7 has failed many times to find its floor plan, in order to solve this, it requires a new re-mapping of the apartment. That means I have to re-establish the "zones" and "no-go lines" again.
And one more that really frustrating, the D7 gets off the base and just seats upfront of it with running motor ( annoying humming noise mentioned before), however, the app status said the robot is cleaning. When the battery runs low the app tells you that the robot is returning to the base. But the D7 stays in the exact same spot and doesn't move.
Therefore I come repeatedly to an apartment that hasn't been vacuumed.
Also, the app seems to be great in the beginning but soon you will realize that is really not that useful, except for a few things.
If you will need to reset the D7, you will lose all your settings, the map and the "zones" and "no-go lines".
So you will have to start from the very beginning.
So when ( and only when ) Neato works it is doing a good job cleaning, better than the 6+ old Roomba.
Unfortunately most of the time it doesn't work...
So if you on the market for a new vacuum robot i would definitely recommend you to purchase beautiful and famous Roomba made by iRobot.
Then you will be 100% sure that your place has been vacuumed as and when it should.
Nice robot, truly dreadful customer service
I'm a new customer, with a Neato D7. Just reading some of the other reviews - which of course I should have done before purchasing - I'm now praying that my Neato won't develop any faults.
As far as the vacuum is concerned, so far so good. It seems to clean well and the app is ok though it could be a bit better. Allowing linked e-mail addresses to use the same robot would be an improvement.
Neato's customer service on the other hand is truly diabolical. It's taken 5 attempts to contact them either via online chat or e-mail, as there is no published phone number, finally to get a response out of them. My 4th e-mail couldn't have been blunter in spelling out that their customer service needed a rapid and immediate improvement but I now know that despite being sent on 24th Jan, it wasn't even read until 29th Jan - and then it was ignored. To read a message as blunt as that mail and then still do nothing until a 5th message was sent takes a level of customer care that belongs among the absolute bottom-feeders.
Today I've been contacted by Dylan who has sorted my immediate issues and promised that he will be on hand quickly to step in with future problems. That's great, but of course for an upmarket premium-priced product I shouldn't be reliant upon the goodwill of an individual who will sometimes take leave, go on training courses, or feel unwell - or for that matter hand his notice in pretty soon if Neato treat their staff as badly as their customers!
For a product costing what Neato charge, great customer service needs to be part of the deal.
If I was scoring so far on the functionality of the robot and app I'd probably score 4 stars. If I was scoring on the customer care and attitude of Neato I'd be asking why there isn't a zero star rating, so I've met these 2 factors halfway and gone for 2 stars.
I love my Neato botvac connected when…
I love my Neato botvac connected when it's working but the problem is that it rarely are working so there is not much love there. To times i got a replacement unit and yet for the 3 times it is mailfunctions again Now love is turn to hate and i can not recommend the unit because of a bad relationsship. It is a poor qulity product.

Verified Purchase
Style Name: Neato D7
I've had this product around a month and loved it
BUT - BEWARE
The product has a side brush and whislt is does not look much, it is needed.
The brush is driven by a small rubber belt, which within a month on mine snapped.
I contacted Neato who are willing to have it sent away for repair HOWEVER looking online revels this is a known fault.
I've told Neato i'm happy to pay for belts as I really like the product, but they will not sell them.
Look online and you will easilly find others with the same problem, the product is not fit for purpose and with the service centre outside of the UK you have a 10 pence part that is absolutly going to fail that is going to cost you serious money to fix.
For me this just is not good enough for a product that retails st £700 and although I got mine at £425 i'm sending "Dobbie" (yes you can name it) back and going for the Roomba 980 I talked myself out of.
Great idea, finds its way around and my house has never been soo clean (dog hair and dust get everywhere so having one of these has a knock on effect on bathrooms etc u never would anticipate) but I feel I have no choice bit to opt for the main brand, the pretender to the throne has a silly fault we could live with, but not of they won't sell you the part to fix it, thats simply not on
Botvac d7 connected
Botvac d7 connected. It's rubbish. Constantly stuck, brush needs cleaning all the time and doesn't keep charge.
Also no longer finds its way back to docking
A waste of effort , can't be left alone as after a few minutes some error will stop it working , easier to get the real vacuum out .
One plus the dogs prefer it to a real vacuum
Avoid buying products of this company!
Horrible experience with a company. Don't buy their products even if they look good! I bought Neato Botvac Connected, used it once and it stopped working. Had to send it back by guarantee. Repairs took 2 months! Moreover, they don't extend your guarantee by these 2 lost months. Customer Support was always giving promises and couldn't really solve issues. I contacted them around 5 times asking when my robot will be repaired and the answer was only "we don't know, wait a bit". Only when I referred to their own Terms of Use where it's written that they should return money in case they can't repair a product, I received a robot back. Not a company but a joke.
Absolutely horrible experience with …
Absolutely horrible experience with Neato Connected Robot! I wish I had not bought it. It just can't move without getting stuck. Constantly beeps (if it's stuck upstairs you move it and it re-starts cleaning, it gets stuck and keeps beeping) Imagine how crazy the beeping can drive you when it gets every 3 mins. App is absolutely disgraceful. Doesn't work most of the time even on fibre broadband! It's not very intuitive and can't even do one run of a carpeted floor without intervention! Can never leave it on when I'm out of the house and we have no clutter, objects on the floor. If the app stuck you have to manually lift robot up and place on dock. Very basic features for s robot this size! My older roomba is much much better. Don't waste your money.
Good while it works
Good while it works. Once it's in need of repair, you'd better PRAY you are under warranty, otherwise forget it. They refer you to FUNAI, which has got to be the single worst company EVER. I could write for days about how frustrating it is to deal with this company. If I could give them ZERO stars, I would have. BEWARE. Do NOT waste your money on this company, unless you wish to buy a new one each year.

J'ai eu la malchance d'avoir un problème de batterie, le service client de Neato a été irréprochable et m'a envoyé une batterie neuve très rapidement ! Merci a Florian pour son aide et sa rapidité :)
Famous "Stuck Wheel" Failure .. take your chances
Hi. I loved this unit.. better than the Roomba 770. It navigates top notch when it's working. The problem is that in day 5 on bare tile ... it had complete failure. When you get that error message, it actually means that the wheel motor has been torn up ... I've read that it's due to a cheaply designed wheel motor. I've read horror stories on Amazon.. people going through up to five of them. It's been going on for over 1.5 years. More than 10% report complete failure. Redesign that portion of the robot, neatorobotics. Assure us that the design has been updated. Yes, they do send out another. Customer service is not horrific.
Laziness through Gadgets
Have you ever dreamed of having a robot or some sort of magical power allowing you to clean your home in a short time without effort? I had.
At first I was very reluctant buying a cleaning robot. My earliest impression of them, was that they was silly machines, whom bumped mindless into every item in my house, and getting stuck all the time. But after reading an article about Neato, I reconsidered, and decided on pursuing this old dream.
Here we are today, our latest addition to our gadgets stack is “Roberta”. “she” is a neat little thing, with the generic name Neato XV25.
The purchasing criteria was: I wanted a Vacuum Bot, and not a swipe bot. I wanted a machine doing vacuuming the way I would have done it myself.
Neato innovative technology offered just that. It’s laser visual creates a virtual map over the rooms, and offers the ability to clean in a systematic and intelligent way.
Now a month after the purchase I’m still convinced that it’s the best way to clean your house is the new robotic vacuum cleaner! And I can recommend acquiring such a device. That said, robotic cleaners isn’t designed for excellent results. It keeps the need for normal vacuuming to a minimum, but that’s it.
A great addiction to a robotic vacuum cleaner could be if scheduling and mapping was combined with your other IT equipment. This would allow for mapping out the house, and making advanced scheduling for each room.
Sheer genius
These vacuum cleaners are so good, I have at least a dozen friends who want to buy one now just off my recommendation and seeing it in action! I can't imagine not having one. Now if only I could find some way of being a distributor or getting an affiliate deal ;-)
