I have sent two wire transfers from my EverBank savings account, months apart. The first was stopped, flagged for "my safety", where I had to spend a half hour arguing with an Everbank employee, forc... See more

Repeated poor service: Please look elsewhere.
My credit card was stolen and the thief made 30 charges in 3 days amounting to $2000. As soon as I found out, I contacted Everbank. Was told to submit a "Disputed Charges form" and upload it on their site. I did so on the same day I was informed. Nine biz days later, nothing from Everbank. Not even confirmation of my upload. So I uploaded it again, noting that again, there was no record of this upload. Not even a confirming email or log on their site.
So I called them. This time, the person couldn't even access my account, after giving them all sort of identifying information.
The phone person admitted that there was something wrong on his end. His solution was to "call back later" and try again. Their fault; my burden.
So I mailed the damned form via registered mail, wasting more time and money.
This service is SO BAD, I get suspicious that it might be done on purpose, to reduce their costs in more ways than one. What else can account for this?
As soon as I can, I will close my accounts and stick with my local bank, which actually has decent customer service. If this continues, I will consider legal help, so tired of this.
Please consider NOT giving them your business; they don't deserve it.
If you transfer money they will hold it…
If you transfer money they will hold it for days. They cost me thousands because I transferred, it said it went through, then they pulled it, and I lost out on a CD rate when CD rates were plunging. Infuriating. What is the point of an online bank for transfer when you can't transfer????? Why not publish that they are also adversely limiting money transfers to $10K? What's the point, it's like keeping pennies. A transfer rate that low is somewhat pointless.
I tried to open a savings account over…
I tried to open a savings account over the phone. Gave my info and was denied-- kinda odd. I hope it's not a scam!
I opened my accounts several months ago…
I opened my accounts several months ago to take advantage of the interest rate for savings. I also needed a new bank that is not California based so decided to try this one after reading about it on a couple financial/tech blogs. Was very easy to open accounts and move money from my primary bank to Everbank. I have not had the need to contact customer serviice so can't comment about that and have not made any withdrawals at this point either.
I got errors using their website
I got errors using their website. Called and instructed I can only use Google Chrome. They need to make their website usable for other browsers. I was happy you could add/modify your beneficiaries on the website, but turned out you can't if you are designating anything other than an individual. The initial opening of the account online did not succeed. It had to be completed over the phone. From the reviews I have read on Trustpilot, I am now nervous to add very much to my new savings account, even though the rate is better than most banks.
Poor handling of estate account…
Poor handling of estate account opening. The process required repetition:
"Pursuant to my call with Everbank today concerning a new estate account I am opening as executor, please find again the Letters Testamentary as well as the IRS Form SS-4 with the estate name and EIN attached."
But they STILL did not open the account, claiming "missing information". Apparently, they knew of additional trust documents which had been provided to TIAA, which spun Everbank back out - but Everbank did not ask TIAA for the documents, nor did they request them from me - until I had to investigate the second failure to open the account.
Then it got even worse.
They did not provide direct access to the 1099-INT for the estate account to the estate executor/trustee. This is UNHEARD OF for a financial institution. It delayed preparation of tax returns.
Then, after having to call them, they took two days to send a secure email with the estate 1099 - except they did not actually include the correct 1099!
Best of all, instead of writing to me, the executor, they addressed their letter to the Settlor of the estate, who had passed away more than two years ago.
These people appear to have no idea what they are doing. I cannot recommend them.
they put a limit of outgoing transfer $2500 a day
They changed the daily outgoing transfer limit to $2500 a day - what kind of bank do this?! I can no longer trust this bank and decided to close my account and stay away from them!
I have not had any issue with them…until now.
I have not had any issue with them until today. I don't appreciate the external transfer limits being changed without notification. When I called the first time the customer service was not very professional or apologetic for the inconvenience. I hung up and called again to lodge a complaint and the customer service rep provided more information and clarity. While I still believe it is a mistake not notifying customers, I appreciated her providing options to me. Hopefully she is a trainer.
Do NOT have a checking account with…
Do NOT have a checking account with this bank!! TIAA, I was with them for 21 years never lost any money as soon as Everbank bought them. My account was hacked for thousands of dollars of which they will not pay back due to a 60 day new term agreement!! Please do not open an account with them. You will regret it like I have they do NOT protect your Money!!
The external transfer limit was changed…
The external transfer limit was changed from $50,000 to $2500 with no warning. There was no explanation on the website about what the transfer limit was, including when I got an error message that I was attempting to transfer beyond the limit. At the very least an email notifying of this change should have been sent.
Changed transfer limits without notifying clients
At 6pm EST on Feb 10, Everbank changed their Electronic Funds Transfer policy from a daily limit of $50,000 to a daily limit of $2,500. However, they did not notify any clients of this impending change. Even the online PDF of their policies stated the former policy as of 10 pm EST on Feb. 10. I tried to initiate a time-sensitive transfer of more than $2,500 on that night at 6:30pm, and was unable to do so because of the new policy. In addition, after initiating multiple transfers of approximately $2,000 as an alternative, after trying for almost an hour, one of those transfers was mysteriously canceled without a reason. I received an email about this on the afternoon of Feb. 11. I had phoned Everbank on the morning of Feb. 11 to verify that all three would go through, and was told that the only reason they might not was due to insufficient funds. There were sufficient funds. When I called Everbank on Dec 12 to ask why the third transaction had been canceled, I was referred to the new policy. When I asked when clients would receive notice of the new policy in writing, I was told that Everbank reserves the right to change the limit at any time. This is not the behavior of an A+ rated business.
So far, so good and great rates
I moved a large portion of my savings to Everbank because of the great yields. The experience has been good. The web site of not as sophisticated as other banks, but it is fine.
Worst Bank "EVER"
Worst bank "ever". All rude people, could care less about their customers. Warning: stay away, don't waste your time
Great rates but inaccessible
Filled out an online application for a savings account and was told it is under review. Five days later I have heard nothing. Something is very sinister and unprofessional about this bank since my credit rating is in the 800s and I have opened up other accounts with no hitch. I can just imagine trying to transfer money or withdrawing money from a bank this bogged down with transactions.
Absolute worst customer service…
Absolute worst customer service possible. Trying to have a freeze removed from my heloc funds that I have paid flawlessly on for 15 years. Wrote a check on my available funds. They refused to honor check with no notification to me. Upon calling I was told that my mailing address not valid and néed to supply evidence that I live there. I have lived in the home for twenty years. Within 10 minutes I supplied the information they requested. Now into second week. No feedback asked to speak with supervisor and was told not allowed. What really aggravates me is that 3 weeks ago I called and advised them that I was going to write a check I was told no problem. Well that certainly wasn’t the case as it now is a big problem as I am eminently on verge of non performance on a contract.
I tried opening a high yield savings…
I tried opening a high yield savings account and was "declined" for no reason provided. I called and they said they have no idea and cannot see any of that information. I've never heard of any company collecting your data and not having any decisioning information. They stated they wouldn't even send a letter regarding it. I was told I could just re-apply, which I did and had the same result. I asked to speak to someone else and the next representative stated that you must wait 3 business days to reapply, so the first person doesn't even know what they are talking about. They explained that LexisNexis processes the applications so I would need to call them and provided me with a phone number. You can't just call LexisNexis as a consumer and be helped; that's not how it works. The company paying for the service should be reaching out with inquiries. Very bizarre experience. Considering they are touting one of the highest saving account interest rates, I find it mind-boggling that they wouldn't have any way to view applications. Additionally, the reps don't even know the rules within their own organization.
Transaction taking more than 45 days!
More than 45 days to complete a transaction, too long!
The time and effort to convert Father's IRA to an Inherited IRA was more than 45 days and required multiple calls and emails to keep work moving. They repeatedly asked for the same information and instructions. It is still not complete! Seems like delay tactic or corporate incompetence. They do not have a method to escalate issues for investigation. I will never use EverBank again.
Update. This transaction complete on January 14th 2025 when EverBank sent an e-mail saying the account was open and funded.
Great Experience with Everbank
After researching virtual banks, I selected Everbank. I read a ton of bad reviews for them and many other similar banks. My experience with Everbank has been exceptional and I can be a tough customer. Their customer service has been excellent and their online tools are really good. I am replacing my big, legacy bank with them for high-yield savings and checking.
Terrible experience trying to close an…
Terrible experience trying to close an expired CD and move it to my on-line savings and moving some funds from pledge MM to the same on-line savings.
It took 3 calls to get to an agent, as phone system first insisted that I leave a call back and second call attempt the agent could not hear me. The third agent was so slow like I have never experienced, when it was TIAA, or the earlier Everbank.
The last agent should be re-assigned from customer contact or be re-trained!!!!
Mobile app
Been a customer when it was TIAA. The new app is terrible and frustrating. Customer service wasn't helpful
