I purchased a vehicle from Evolve Motor…

I purchased a vehicle from Evolve Motor Group on 21 February 2026 for £13795 ,and unfortunately experienced significant issues within a very short period of ownership.

All of the issues described below arose within just a few days of purchase.

After driving approximately 370 miles from the point of purchase, the vehicle developed a cooling system fault, with the engine temperature dropping noticeably during normal driving. An independent garage diagnosed a failed thermostat housing which required replacement. The total cost of this repair was approximately £650.

In addition, suspension components required attention shortly after purchase, at a further cost of around £1000. One shock absorber appeared to have been replaced previously, while the opposite side was worn and leaking, leading to uneven handling and tyre wear.

Given the extremely short timeframe and minimal mileage, it is reasonable to conclude that these issues were already present or developing at the point of sale.

I provided the dealer with full documentation, including invoices, mileage evidence and video footage clearly showing the faults. Despite this, the claim was declined. The primary reason given was that the repairs were carried out by an “unauthorised” garage, rather than addressing the actual faults themselves.

The garage that carried out the work is a legitimate independent business with a physical premises and proper invoicing. Dismissing the evidence on this basis alone does not seem reasonable.

The dealer did offer a partial contribution of £69 for the thermostat and the cost of one shock absorber, excluding any labour costs. This was in relation to total repair costs of approximately £1600. I was also informed that the work had been carried out for my “peace of mind”, despite clear evidence of faults.

While I understand the vehicle is around 8 years old with close to 100,000 miles, faults of this nature occurring within days of purchase go beyond what would reasonably be considered normal wear and tear.

I am posting this review only now, as I was waiting for my case to be formally opened and assigned a reference number by the finance company.

During communication, I was also threatened with potential legal action, which I found unnecessary and inappropriate given the circumstances.

As the matter could not be resolved directly with the dealer, the case has now been formally raised with the finance company for review under the Consumer Rights Act.

I hope this review provides a clear and factual account of my experience and helps other buyers make informed decisions.

Great service great product

Great service great product.

Came to pick my car up today, guys couldn’t be more helpful insisting on going for a test drive to make sure I was happy with the car and walked me through all the ins and outs of the background and couldn’t be more helpful with everything.

Highly recommend anyone looking for a car to give them a go and look at what cars they have on offer.

Overall great company, great staff and great service can’t ask for much more.

Really positive experience with Evolve…

Really positive experience with Evolve Motor Group. Moj and his team were friendly, clear, and genuinely helpful throughout, which made the whole process feel straightforward and built trust. They were easy to deal with, answered questions openly, and made me feel comfortable from start to finish. Would highly recommend.

I am so pleased with my new car

I am so pleased with my new car. I was given a good test drive to get feel for the car and the purchase was seamless!! The car had a full valet when I went to collect it, like a brand new car. Over the moon. Thank you for such a great service

Overall very disappointed by a few things

Overall I was disappointed by a few things that will be contested here but I feel I have to include them in the review. First of all I am perfectly happy with the car and price. No problems there.

I drove down from Leeds after putting a deposit on an A5. Had a loose agreement with Shaj of £400 for a part-ex on my A3 (We Buy Any Car had offered me that initially but easier for me to part-ex at that price). Agreed to buy the A5 when I saw it but they would only offer me £150 in part-ex and told me the car would be scrapped. Having driven down 200+ miles from Leeds I had very little choice as leaving the vehicle would have meant another round trip down from Leeds to pick it up. I would have got the train down had I known they would knock it down to this extent and kept the car. However, when I logged in to write a review I saw that they hadn't scrapped the car but put it back up for sale at £2,495. I get that it may have needed some work doing but that is one hell of a jump from the £150 I was given!

Also advertised ay 97,000 miles but when I collected it it was at just under 100,000. Was told in our conversation that they drive the cars 2000+ miles when they receive them to make sure they drive OK. That's John o' Groats to Lands End twice and more which I think is a bit excessive to be honest.

Shaj did call to 'resolve the matter' but to be honest nothing was resolved. Feel a bit let down by the whole process, but like I say no problems with the car.

It does say on the advert that there is an 'admin fee' which I missed. This admin fee is £300 which was a bit of a shock to me, but couldn't really argue as 'admin fee' is in the add. Did mean that in total I left a further £550 lighter than expected. Just something to be aware of.

Overall I have just left the experience feeling a little disappointed. I am sure there will be a rebuttal of what I have written, but nothing is untrue. I wouldn't use them again because of the above.

Great Customer Service

I had a great experience with Evolve Motor Group from start to finish. The customer service was excellent — the staff was friendly, and knowledgeable. They took the time to answer all my questions and made sure I felt comfortable throughout the entire process. I was given plenty of time to inspect the BMW 4 Series I purchased and take it for a test drive, which I really appreciated. There was no pressure, just honest and helpful guidance. The car itself was in excellent condition — clean, well-maintained, and exactly as described. It drove smoothly and clearly had been taken care of.
