I have been an ExecThread member for many years. It is a great tool to find career opportunities that may not be listed elsewhere. Because there are various free and paid membership levels, and several career services that can be very helpful, you can tailor the membership to your needs.

This is pretty much a scam to get desperate job seekers to pay.

1. Pay-to-Play Model Disguised as “Curated Access”
Users are often prompted to “unlock” job postings or application details by either inviting others to the platform or paying a fee.

This pyramid-style referral model can feel like a bait-and-switch, especially after seeing enticing job titles.

2. Jobs Are Often Not Exclusive
Many of the listings are aggregated from public job boards or LinkedIn, meaning you can often find the same roles elsewhere without paying or referring people.

ExecThread rarely has direct employer relationships, making the "exclusive access" claim questionable.

3. Questionable Job Curation
While the platform claims to offer only executive-level roles, many postings are for mid-level roles or ambiguous titles — and may not be vetted at all.

Some users have reported broken links or misleading job descriptions.

4. Shady User Experience Tactics
Aggressive email marketing, frequent upselling, and pressure to refer others to unlock full access are common complaints.

It often feels like you’re the product, not the customer.

I was featured in ExecThread's monthly CEO newsletter spotlight and the experience was outstanding. The interview process was professional with thoughtful questions that allowed me to share meaningful insights about impact investing and leadership.

What impressed me most was the reach - the newsletter went to 575,000 ExecThread members and was amplified on LinkedIn, providing excellent visibility with Equities.com, a financial media site designed for the modern, mindful investor and the financial advisors who serve them. The team was responsive and clearly understands the executive community they serve.

For any CEO looking to build thought leadership, I highly recommend ExecThread. As a reader, I also value learning from other CEO interviews featured on the platform - it's a great resource for executive insights and career development.

ExecThread is a great resource to find out about senior level positions that may not be posted elsewhere as well as a great consolidated resource to easily access roles. It is great to be able to sort by geography and function so that you only view what is relevant to you.

Exec thread is a great way to find career opportunities directly from the source. Constantly updated, you get to explore Exec positions often before posting and get a feel for the overall marketplace.

In addition, I was selected by Exec Thread to highlight my non-profit Board positions not just to my network but across the platform - it was one of my highest impression posts. Such a great idea to amplify the passion work of Exec Thread members on a monthly basis.

Lastly, I love how Joe (CEO) shares his heartfelt experiences bringing much needed empathy and human touch to the search process as well as innovative policies he shares to help teams perform at higher levels, including mental health support.

Highly recommend for anyone even thinking about the next step in their Exec career.

You have demonstrated a culture of support superior to most recruiting companies and therefore have the power to influence the opinion of your clients to take calculated risks and dare to really diversify their work teams without prejudice of origin or appearance, because is very clear that THE GOAL IS TO MAKE THE COMPANY MORE PROFITABLE.

ExecThread does a great job marketing to get subscribers, although I was not impressed with the quality and quantity of executive job postings. If you are interested in non-profit and small-cap organizations, ExecThread might be helpful for you. I was disappointed to find limited postings from mid-cap and large-cap companies.

ExecThread has been laser focused on helping execs find under-the-radar opportunities. I've been a user since day one and it has been great to watch Joe and the team really stay true to their mission and build something of value.

Because ExecThread 'threads' the needle to laser in on only the highest caliber professionals, I've found top-notch candidates to hire effectively, efficiently and successfully. I attribute my success to ExecThread's unique 'insider' platform designed to post only unpublished job opportunities by high-level executives like me - peers within nearly 1M (!) members, making the candidate referral pool deep and wide.

Relevant, strategic opportunities with consistently high quality postings. Appreciated that it gives (most of) the info for 75+% of the roles (salaries, etc.). Highly recommend!

ExecThread is one of the more valuable platforms out there for uncovering executive-level roles — especially the ones that never make it to public job boards.

ExecThread also leans into the power of its community. Members share unlisted roles with each other, which adds a layer of access you won’t find on LinkedIn or Indeed.

ExecThread's CEO Joe created a service that is not only practical for job seekers, but builds a genuine connection with his readers. His messages are genuine and at times personal based on his life experience.

Selective. Confidential. Direct. Very useful "marketplace" concept for networking and connecting to actual opportunities without hassles.

Thanks to ExecThread I was able to get an Advisory Board position. It is a very exciting application to digitize executive hiring.

ExecThread is a well run and curated community for access to Exec level roles as well as Board roles. I have been a member for years.
