Last week

Last week, they brought oil to my neighbor, which was surprising because I assumed the neighbor was bankrupt. Unfortunately, during the delivery, they accidentally crushed my wheelie bin, so I'm now in need of a replacement.

sorry to see Exswift go

sad to see Exswift go they gave wonderful service but probably it was too cheap to maintain. I’ve gone back to using boiler juice. In the meantime if anyone finds another good company, it would be good to know I live in Surrey.

They have gone into liquidation

They have gone into liquidation. I am an existing customer too. I have a Swiftpay account with over £500 of credit with them. After trying daily to contact them I now have it on good authority they have gone bust.

Unhappy customer

Can no longer get deliveries from this company even as existing customer. We live in Suffolk but have stopped delivering to our postcode. Will have to tell my neighbours since they buy from Exswift as well.

Very competitive prices!

I have bought from Exswift approx. 5 times now. Every time I need heating oil I get a quote from about 4-6 companies to get the best price and every time Exswift have come out cheapest!
They have always delivered on or before the date they promised and the delivery drivers have generally been courteous and polite.
Keep it up Exswift.
(P.S I LOVED those offer codes you gave me when I was a new customer eg. £20 of a 500ltr order etc. - Are there any offer codes for loyal customers?!?)

Thanks Lee!

Made an order via Boiler Juice, and the order was consigned to exswift. The truck that was sent was too large for our lane, but after clambering through bushes and some nifty truck maneuvering, Lee was able to deliver our much needed oil. Really helpful, diligent and polite!

The minefield of oil under delivery charges.

The problem concerns heating oil under delivery charges.
Briefly Exswift do not apply such charges except for 500l orders. However if Exswift deliver an order placed through Boilerjuice Boilerjuice's charges come into effect and these apply to all orders.
Boilerjuice state that Exswift do not have to agree to their charges and actually state that Exswift ask for Boilerjuice charges to be applied.
The result of all this is that Exswift receive the under delivery charge for an indirect order which they would not have done for a direct order.
The customer is not aware of all this until he is suddenly asked for the surcharge and many such charges will have been made by unsuspecting customers.
I have spent much time and effort trying to get both Boilerjuice and Exswift to accept that this situation should be corrected and customers protected.
Incidentally both companies deny that am their customer and tell me I must deal with the other!
I feel I am due to a refund of my unfair £10 charge and considerable compensation for the time and effort needed to fight Exswift's prevarication and obfuscation.
I have used Resolver, a free complaint service and so far my exchange with Exswift runs to 32 question and answer emails because Jason in Customer Service is somewhat unsympathetic to put in mildly.
It is obviously to the supplier's advantage to maximise the volume of oil delivered and many advise customers to over order so that their tank is filled and offer an unconditional refund for any under delivery. Only Boilerjuice seem to want to apply excessive under delivery charges and so don't use them. The supplier however receives the charges and should either choose to not have them made on their behalf by Boilerjuice or refund them if by error or carelessness they are made.
Update 15/8/2023.
The response to the above review was a personal telephone call from Jason Sumpton of Exswift Customer Relations. I don't know where he learnt his trade but he was very rude and sounded somewhat threatening. He asked me if I was recording the call and told me to "stop hassling his staff"! I asked him yet again the basic question stated above but he ignored the request.
Incidentally here is Exswifts own offer!
"Tank Top Up Service*
Simply over order and we will refund the difference after delivery.
*Minimum delivered quantity is still 500 litres."
Finally why does anyone use Boilerjuice when I have just got a quote from both and Exswift is slightly cheaper!
These hidden, anomalous, pointless, unwanted and unfair under delivery charges should be stopped. Preferably Boilerjuice should remove them from their system because they don't get the money and their suppliers do not want the charge.
If they don't then suppliers such as Exswift should ask Boilerjuice not to apply them.
Ultimately the customer should just order directly from a supplier for the best deal!
Let's see what happens.
Update 22/8/2023
After putting details of Jason's phone call into Exswift's Resolver case I received a private email from Geoff the Exswift Customer Relations team leader. He made a number of incorrect statements showing that he did not understand the problem. I corrected his errors, restated the basic problem and asked for contact with higher.
management to resolve the issues.
Never give up!
Update Aug 23 2023
I received a further email from Geoff Livesey in which he continued to discuss anything but the vital question that I want answered.
He quoted me the now very familiar Ts and Cs involved in this matter but appeared to be completely unaware that Exswift don't apply them to direct orders. He even referred to the "regrettable confusion" of his own front line sales girls because they confirmed to me by phone that Exswift do not apply these charges. This is in the face of his own website offering a Top Up Service in which the customer is invited to over order followed by a refund"!
I restated my question and wonder if it will ever be answered!
My next move will be to to present this mess to the ombudsman!
Update Sept6 2023
Yet another evasive email from Exswft's Geoff Livesey who talked about Ts & Cs and anything but the question of why they have these ridiculous under delivery charges at all. I replied with yet another restatement of this question but no response yet!
I recommend everyone to use The Oil Club who I have used for years before making the mistake of trying Boilerjuice. OC have ABSOLUTELY NO surcharges or service charges although they do warn that some suppliers might charge for underdeliver of 500l.
Give them a try!
