Bitter dissapointment. Recieved the boots, after paying £92 of customs charges. Description on the website is really confuing and unclear, it says: "incl. Tax, free shipping (UK), plus custom duties"... See more

Ordered a belt in October

Ordered a belt in October, payment was taken and there was no indication that the belt was out of stock. A few weeks later I got an email saying the belt was out of stock.
The item never arrived and in the end I was refunded 50% of the original cost.
I emailed the customer services department twice before leaving this review, but I received no reply.

Do not order from the UK

Do not order from the UK, as they do not make it clear that customs duty are not paid. They give the impression that they have a UK hub, when this is not true. The "fine print" says this, but this is how rubbish company's work.

Beware of Brexit!! Customs charges.

Nothing wrong with the buying experience, the goods or even the customs delayed delivery but when considering a purchase be careful to read all small print as it isn't always clear that customs duties have to be paid on post-Brexit UK deliveries. Either make sure they're included or add them on the to purchase price for the real price.
It's what "we" voted for - hurrah!! (deliveries via unicorn).

Never again

Never again. The article was promised to be shipped in 2-3 days. After waiting for more than week, wrote them email to cancel the order and refund the money. No answer yet after 3-4 email. Called them as well and the response was that they have to many orders so may take time.
Already 20 days passed since the return, and seems the only way to get the money back would be through PayPal customer service.

I've ordered twice from this company…

I've ordered twice from this company now. Things take a little while to get to you and their comms could be better. But the goods did turn up and at a great price! They do have a customer service line in the UK if you need it, which I did use to check the status of my order.

I would buy again, but not anything I need in a hurry.

I was buying shoes from Alpinetrek, also from Germany without any additional customs charges. Worst thing is, they dont fit and I will need to return them...

Items on eXXposed Website Not Disclosed as Backordered and Phone Calls were put on Hold for Longer than 15 minutes.

Recommended Improvements for eXXposed:

- eXXposed includes items on their website that are
not in stock. Items backordered should state that
in the description of the item on their website.
- eXXposed should have more resources to handle
customer calls as talking to an eXXposed
representative would have reduced the five and half
weeks between when the order was made and when
three out of five items were delivered.

I ordered five items from eXXposed on September 23 and the cost was paid through Paypal and charged to my credit card. Three days later on September 26 I received an email from eXXposed advising that the most expensive item ordered, a pair of Dolomite shoes, was not available. I replied that the remaining order could be filled but expected that the shipping cost be reduced. I received another email from eXXposed on October 1 stating that the order was still in process and that they had to wait for a reorder at the manufacturer to arrive at their warehouse and the order list excluded the shoes and had a reduced shipping cost. I replied that if the shoe was backordered for more than a month to cancel the entire order. I had tried calling eXXposed several times, and international call from Canada, but was put on hold for longer than 15 minutes, after which I ended the call. I received an email on October 9 from eXXposed that was the same as the email sent on October 1. I replied that the order less the shoes should be shipped. I sent an email on October 14 requesting a confirmation that the order would be shipped without the shoes and that tracking information be provided. On October 17 I received an email from eXXposed stating that another of the ordered items had to be re-ordered. At that point I checked the eXXposed website for both the backordered items and they were both still showing on the website with no mention that they were backordered. On October 21 I sent eXXposed an email requesting that if the second backordered item was not received by Oct.22 to cancel that item and send the rest of the order and if confirmation of shipping and a tracking number could not be provided by October 23 to cancel the entire order. On October 23 I received an email from eXXposed stating that the order had been shipped but it did not state what was being shipped. On October 26 my PayPal account was credited for the two backordered items and for a reduced shipping cost. On November 2 the order was received less the two of the items originally ordered.

A previous order made in 2021 with eXXposed was executed expeditiously. The order placed in September of this year was less than satisfactory because two items were back-ordered. The communication of the status of the order took too long between emails and had my phone calls been received by a person and had I not been placed on a fifteen plus wait, the time between when the order was made and when it was received, would have been less than five and half weeks.

Awful company, avoid.

Awful company, terrible service.

Ordered some shoes, which said 5-7 days delivery, they took nearly four weeks. Emails took usually around a week to get a response and when the shoes finally arrived, I need a size up.

Unbelievably, they're now trying to claim I can't return them because they've been worn. You what? Ever heard of trying shoes on?

I honestly wish I'd just ordered full price from the UK, it is not worth the hassle.

Took a chance despite negative reviews

Took a chance despite the negative reviews below. Product was brand new as described and well packaged. Delivery took eight days, as expected because of the need to clear customs. Tracking info was provided so no surprises. Would happily use again. (Rab duffle bag 50l)

Do not buy anything from Exxpozed

Do not buy anything from Exxpozed! I spend €1314.88 for 7 items on their website, but only received 1 items after 3 months. @eXXpozed refused to send rest of items to me. If you see their reviews on Google, my order still haven't received, and no refund at all. Do not waste your money.

MISLEADING PRICES IN UK

MISLEADING PRICES IN UK

La Sportiva boots advertised as £203. Charged £163 on PayPal and they stated the customs bill would be around 2.5%. Based on this I ordered but then get a bill for £75 from Parcel force. The pricing is deliberately misleading - I don't expect to have to calculate fees when the price on the website says all fees and delivery included. Customer services didn't want to know. I have ordered from another German based retailer and these fees were included as the returns address was based in the UK.

XIX century service

I ordered some close as a Christmas gift to my suppose. Unfortunately one item was defective. I contacted to the manager and they offered to send it back, but refused to cover delivery cost. Finally, after several reminders they refund the item cost (89 Euro), but I spent 47 Euro more for delivery that was non-refundable. Really bad service and managers neither client oriented nor responsive.

Negative reviews are largely UK specific...

I placed an order on this website prior to reading reviews. After ordering, I read reviews and was immediately regretful and certain my order would not arrive and that a refund would be impossible. HOWEVER....I was pleasantly surprised to receive the product, in a relatively timely manner (considering it was coming to Canada from Germany) and it was exactly as expected. I think many of the negative reviews are related specifically to UK customers who have issues with the customs/duty process. I am a very satisfied Canadian customer.

Deliberately misleading UK customers

Be warned! The shipping information for non-EU customers is designed to trick customers. Expect to pay almost 50% extra in tax/customs and duties on any order to the UK. Exxpozed do not want you to know this: links to more information do not work, and they tell you shipping the the UK is free. It's not. They even have a "UK site", which is completely pointless if you can't order from the UK without incurring enormous charges.

Exxpozed, please make the situation for non-EU customers much clearer on your site. It is very poor business ethic to pretend the taxes have nothing to do with you and trick people into ordering. You must get tired of customer complaints on this issue, so just make it clearer on your site, or stock items in the UK!

Beware Custom Duties for UK Orders

Like many others I was unaware of a hefty Customs fee (>£100 for my item) needing to be paid to allow UK delivery of the purchased item. Whilst this fact is mentioned in small writing when purchasing items the warning is very small and also not entirely clear. "incl. Tax, free shipping (UK), plus custom duties" could easily be interpreted as Custom Duties ALSO being included, rather than additional. However, I simply missed even seeing it like others. The fact that I am one of MANY who missed it should highlight the ongoing issue to Exxposed. I understand it's due to Brexit but it's the ease of which most seem to be missing the small warning that's the reason for the one star. The company is well aware that this is happening from other one-star reviews over many months but of course is happy to let it continue.

To elaborate on many of the comments…

To elaborate on many of the comments here, I too have had a dire experience of this company.

However, to their defence, they do say very clearly on their website that they are based in Germany. They also point out very clearly that they do not pay VAT for the respective destination countries and that the customer may end up with these costs, and those import duties which might become payable. It would not therefore be fair to criticise them for the extortionate charges that individual countries might impose. Blame your government for that ... and in the case of the UK the Brexiteers must take some responsibility for the now restricted and very much delayed trade with the EU.

Given the above, neither do I feel having a .co.uk website address is in any particular way misleading. Vast swathes of companies that operate abroad have website domains in the country in which they trade. Companies do so for very many reasons; search engine optimisation, or for the language differences. To have a website in perfect English rather than broken German, it makes absolute sense to have a completely separate website using the English language. Would you even notice, care, or decide not to order if the website URL had .de on the end instead of .uk were it not for their distribution problems? I doubt it. You were looking for a bargain, as was I and we did not see beyond believing we stumbled across a fantastic deal. We click, click, clicked straight past all the flags they raised in the shopping cart process. That's our bad, not theirs.

In that sense I have some sympathy as a businessman that many of the problems about their company reported here are indeed beyond their control.

Why I absolutely rank them one star and recommend that customers avoid like a plague is their staggering failure to recognise, willingly accept or deal with their distribution problems and the upset they were causing with customers that had bought in all good faith. The minute it became apparent that deliveries were not getting through they should have suspended their foreign operations, slimmed the business down and stayed loyal to German customers until the situation became resolved. To continue trading abroad knowing problems were stacking up was reckless and short-sighted.

Dogged persistence has resulted in me eventually obtaining a refund for goods that still sit in a warehouse somewhere in the UK, six weeks after they arrived there. I do believe they're there. I do not think for a minute this company are somehow forging or mimicking DHL or Parcelforce tracking numbers for fictitious product. I entirely blame UK customs for the hold up, but Exxposed for getting into this situation in the first place. Even companies like Helly Hansen that do pay VAT and import charges are finding their product randomly held up by the UK authorities currently.

Sadly for the above reasons I therefore strongly recommend you avoid this company until stability returns to the foreign trading of goods.

.co.uk website is in fact in Germany

Sadly, if you are in the UK you get slammed with an enormous bill for VAT, DUTY and handling fees by DHL because the items are arriving from Germany.
eXXposed.co.uk failed to explain that.
They should not be allowed to trade from a .co.uk website - MISLEADING!
