Contacted Facepunch community/player manager after receiving homophobic abuse in the game. And got this reply "Community-run servers are all privately owned/paid for by the individual administrators and are not affiliated with Facepunch. They are allowed to run their servers as they see fit, pending they are not breaking any actual laws. In the event their moderation style does not work for you, we recommend seek out a new server that better suits your experience"

I was to find a server that bests suits my experience of receiving homophobic abuse. Absolutely the worst experience in dealing with anyone from any company that states they have zero tolerance toward racism and homophobic abuse.

I reported a cheater with my account, which has thousands of hours of playtime, because in the dark, he sniped our entire clan. Three minutes later, the cheater was banned, and five minutes later, I was banned as well. I informed support that this significantly decreases the value of my account. 'Luke,' the junior support, didn’t help but instead sent me a link explaining what a ban means and kept closing my tickets. A team of kids seems to be running Facepunch. Unfortunately, all the hours I invested were for nothing.

My Steam was hacked somehow because of the Huge Data breach even me having 2way authentication on steam! Got a Message in the morning on Steam that I got VAC banned! on Rust I don't even play the crap game got it as a gift! Contacted Facepunch Studio and explained about the Data Breach and that I got Hacked! they did not give a damb ! unhelpful and RUDE! and not listening to a word i said that I was hack by saying (We do not condone ban evasion) Just told them I was hacked w.t.f Is the guy that replied Stupid!! listen TO

If a game account is used to cheat then it will be permanently banned, even if someone else used the account to cheat

Making a new Steam account after being game banned will result in that account being banned as well. We do not condone ban evasion.
While we understand this can be frustrating we must have a zero tolerance policy for cheating to foster a fair game that players will enjoy. In order for a zero tolerance policy to be effective we must hold users responsible for the security of their account.

Why do you let cheating go on in this game I paid good money for this game just to find cheaters in almost all server's I have spoken with other game players and have come to the conclusion that you don't care you just like to take peoples money

I bought a pc online and it was hwid banned when I got it, they wouldn’t lift my vac ban as I was not aware the seller sold the pc for that reason in the aftermath. Spent almost 3 months trying to fix this and they don’t give a care in the world do not waste your time playing this game if you want a vac badge on your profile

May 2022 after collecting skins from twitch drops for many years and having my account since Alpha. All my skins have been removed and once more I could NOT re add them and they have now all gone. Years worth. I have tried numerous time to contact Facepunch they just send egeneric responses not even by a human. I am done with there games Ignorance of the highest level.

how is rust so popular someone please tell me like the game is so trashly made only offlines hackers and zergs there no fun to just farm all day and lose it all in ur sleep game is trash

They give 0 care about the console community. Make custom servers already. Its such a horribly ran company. Get good at what you do.

I didn't spend 80 bucks for people to invade and steel everything I spent days to aquire ( 15 hrs everyday with locks on everything) to have everything stolen every couple of days. hello i was playing rust on my ps3 and i have to many desync i can't shoot somone with a bow

I got banned for no reason at all. Some dude Hijacked my account and pkayed rust to get me banned because I had not valuables linked to my account. Facepumch would not remove my ban because they said theyhad Zero tollerence policy even thought I didnt do nothing. The customer service dudes name was Holmzy, probably a discord mod and he doesnt understand the use of emotion and not just logic, hes partly stupid.

I just to love this game until I had to deal with the Facepunch devs. They're a bunch of a small kids. I was running my own servers and one of their streamers was on, I banned him because he was having a bad behaviour, it resulted in me getting a gameban from the game. Game is 100% commercialized and it's all about the money. Spent past 60 days fighting an appeal with a company that doesn't wanna take responsibility for their actions.

Company ran by kids, stay away, god knows what they'll plan next.

5000 hours down the drain, if I knew this before I'd never started.

Rust is complete trash on Xbox. You literally can’t do s h i t without dying on this game. Idk how you expect me to do anything

Bought rust console edition for Xbox on pre order with the promise that rust beta was coming sometime in April just to be informed they pushed it to a week into may complete BS on business end hold up what you put in your game info cause you convinced a lot of people wouldn’t have to wait too long for beta, it wouldn’t have meant much if u didn’t charge for the beta as extra content, just give me my refund theirs plenty of games like yours out their I’m not willing to take it raw dogg style once again by false advertisement.

I have like 4700 hours in Rust and your servers is the worst i have ever played on.
There are so many cheaters on your servers thats its ridiculous.
10 players have been banned, which I have helped to report.
Now we just lost our base for the 2 time to a hacker..
Waist of time to play on your servers...
By the way, all af the 10 banned players were Russians... Maybe you should look in to that...

Facepunch Studio's take zero responsibility for banning accounts as they outsource it to Easy Anti-Cheat. It is a convenient way to point the finger to someone else and blame them for an error. This company will take your money, have another company take away the product you bought, blame the other company, and keep your money. This is a scam organization and I am in contact with the BBB to ensure this company is shown in its true light.

Recently I have been introduced to one of Face Punch Studios more popular games, Rust. And whilst I can honestly say I have thoroughly enjoyed what little time I have spent on the game a recent experience has left a sour taste in my mouth. I would like to clarify that the game itself in my opinion is an excellent piece of work and I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys first person, multiplayer, survival games. However, this week my brother and I were banned from official servers. Having only played the game for 3 weeks I was at a lost trying to understand what I had done wrong. Naturally, I turned to the staff for support and advise. This is where the experience becomes demoralizing and the situation ultimately hopeless.
Using the provided links, I submitted an appeal to overturn my ban whilst my brother took to an open chat forum in Discord in an attempt to speak to a member of staff. He was successful nonetheless, an admin in the employ of Face Punch responded stating that we were banned from the server because of player association with a hacker, someone using shortcuts to unjustly enhance their game performance. 3 days prior to the ban we had made a friend that we invited to our party, a great social aspect to the game that would make our gaming experience more enjoyable, or so we thought. The official rules state that harbouring known hackers is a ban-able offence. At this point I felt that that my ban was unjust as I was unaware of his indiscretion while playing the game and he gave us no reason to suspect foul play. Baring in mind that I am a novice player with 3 weeks experience, I am still learning the mechanics of the game and can barely navigate the map at the best of times. Just as a hypothetical, a new player could be 2 days into the game and this rule would still apply. According to the admin I should be aware of the various cheats that players can use to outperform other players.
Now that we have a clear picture of the situation, I would like to discuss the response of the community admin when prompted to justify the ban. My brother proceeded to explain our position and convey our side of the story only to be met with a volley of insults and unprofessionalism. As this was an open chat the wider community was able to contribute their opinion on the matter, the entirety of which consisted of insult and foul language, at no point did the admin attempt or offer to depersonalise the situation by starting a private chat. Following on from this, the admin stated that the “Rust community lie 90% of the time”. As my brother’s questions continuously went unanswered the insults continued with the admin declaring he is illiterate and that she needs to educate him. At this point the condescending nature of this community champion bosting 6 years’ experience was clear and we would be best speaking to a member of customer support, a separate entity that would view our story without bias and scrutinise the appeal with discretion. Unfortunately, this is not a resource that Face Punch Studios can provide. It would appear that currently the staff that implement the bans are also the ones to review the appeals, an unjust system from my point of view.
I would like to reiterate the quality of the game is top notch but as it stands the lack of respect from the community admin for the product consumers is dismal and a quality staff/customer relation is non-existent. And again, I would absolutely recommend the game to anyone considering it or is looking for a new and exciting gaming experience. As for myself, I now find myself treading on eggshells limiting my game play as with a black mark against my name I find myself at the mercy of the game admins.
