First tome ive applied to family fund & i needed a much needed hobby room for my autistic/adhd twins. When told i was granted £500 towards the 16x8 shed i needed i was so excited as its a massive help & i had been looking into reputabible companies like powersheds/tiger sheds/ project timber. Well i was guided to a unsecured trampoline website where the products are so limited & prices are so increased, it makes the 500 basically useless & id be throwing it down the drain!! They came back with £1696 on quote for max 12 x 8! When i can get better quality & bigger size 16x8 for only £1299 at other companies. Wow! Seems to me maybe family fund own the specific companies or have connections which is why they feel like scamming disabled parents is cool.

Family fund is a scam

The family fund has turned into a scam in terms of the funds it provides for leisure activities and honeslty I’m in shock with what I’ve just dealt with. I’ve applied to the fund twice in 5 years for a leisure break - the first time we went to centre parcs which was great - I took my son out of school so it was quieter and we had an adapted room - it was amazing and I was truly grateful. I had a high paying job before my sons needs became too complex to manage alongside full time work so I was truly grateful to the fund for this. This sadly isn’t the case anymore and the system they’re running is tantamount to fraud. I received a voucher in January for £450 and was directed to the inspire travel page. I found somewhere to book and my email was requested to send a quote to the actual property. The property then emailed me back to say the prices were 3 times as high as their actual prices. When I rang inspire to discuss this I was rudely told that I could book directly with the hotel if it was cheaper but my question is how can the family fund promote leisure opportunities for disabled children using charity money only to allow parents to be scammed by companies who are out to make money from disabled children? To make it worse when I actually rang the family fund to query this as it is clearly wrong and shouldn’t be allowed to happen I was met with another rude person who told that the travel agents have to charge more as they have to make money somewhere and when I queried if it had to be 3 times more - she went on to say she’d been looking herself for holidays and that’s how it is and that I didn’t have to use the voucher if I didn’t want to. honestly I’m absolutley disgusted that a charity for disabled children is allowed to operate like this - absolutey scandalous!

Amazing Family Holiday Thanks to Family Fund! 🌟

We received a £450 voucher from Family Fund for inspired Travel, which allowed us to enjoy a fantastic holiday in Northumberland. The experience was truly amazing, and we wouldn't have been able to go without this generous support. Thank you, Family Fund, for making unforgettable memories for our family!
