After 11 months fighting with this…

After 11 months fighting with this company for my refund.People be smart and never ever book anything with these people.First of all they don't care about you as a customer they will never answer your calls or emails. At last I filed claim from my credit card and at last I got my money back after 11 months of constant calling and paperwork. Im glad its all over got my refund from Mastercard 1350$.so people dont loose hooe if these people dont want to pay u and u paid your flight with credit card then just file a claim and u will get reimbursed.

It's like playing a lottery

It's like playing a lottery. If your flight goes on time, you save several bucks. If it gets canceled, you lose big time. I had to request a refund for my canceled flight. Even though Turkish Airlines and Alaska both offered full refunds, FareScan was only able to return about 60%. And I was told the refund would take about 3 months. It's not a scam, but it's unfair business practice. Zero stars. Stay away from them.

LIERS, LIERS, LIERS

UPDATE, after I made my first review warning people not to buy tickets from this company as they will simply lose their money and be left devastated, Farescan replied to my review and had the audacity to write that because of me filing a dispute with my credit card company they are not able to process my refund. LIE. When after months of communicating and realizing that they are not going to refund I told them that I would file a dispute as that is the only thing left to do and their response was “Go ahead , do it”. In their response to my review they stated I would get contacted ASAP . Another LIE, nobody has contacted me. They also stated to contact them, so that they can assist me in my interest. LIE... I contacted them, emailed the addresses provided in their response. Their stupid response was that because of numerous requests to Airline companies, in my case it is Aeroflot it is taking longer. What a LIER this company is!!!! I have a letter from Aeroflot with my E ticket number stating they have refunded my ticket to Farescan while back. Since April of 2020 these people have given me so much headache and anxiety. I had put aside 20 dollars each month for the last three years in order to be able to buy a ticket and see my loved ones and now that I have started to post my experience as a review they have the audacity to reply that there are still non existing reasons for them not to give me my money back. I truly do not want anyone to be in my position so I hope my experience will serve you as a lesson. DO NOT BUY TICKETS FROM THIS COMPANY.

DO NOT BUY FROM FARESCAN

DO NOT BUY FROM FARESCAN. They are professional liars and scammers. I was tricked by Kayak.com into thinking this website was legitimate. I have been waiting for a refund for almost a year now and have been told constant lies by the company. They have come up with completely false information in order to avoid giving me a refund even after filing a complaint with the Department of Transportation and Better Business Bureau. I was contacted today with a completely false story by Farescan as an excuse for why they couldn’t process my refund so I am waiting to see how the DOT handles this. I am fully prepared to take this company to court and receive my refund if things do not work out soon. I am absolutely tired of dealing with this shady and clueless company. This will be an easy win in court and as a result won’t be expensive for me at all.

We booked a flight on January 9 2020

We booked a flight on January 9 2020. The flight got cancelled by the airlines and we were due for a refund. When we called, farescan customer service said that the refund is already in process and just want a few weeks. It has been 12 months and there is still no refund. When we emailed about this, there is no response from the customer service. The funds were already refunded by the airlines to farescan so it is complete unacceptable to not have a refund to date.

Start A Dispute with Credit Card For Refund

NOTE: ALL FLIGHTS HAVE REFUNDED MONEY TO THE AGENCIES. This agency still did not want to return my money so I called my Bank and started a dispute against them. I was finally able to receive my money back (through my bank) as my Bank and Visa got involved thru a dispute.

Please Start / Initiate a dispute with your bank ASAP, it is the only way to get your money back from these guys. You will also get back the FULL amount.

Do not believe anything Farescan/Exploretrip guys say on call (Billing cycle, airline delay etc). Just call your credit card company and start a dispute.

Horrible Experience

If I could give a 0 I would.
This was my very first time buying a ticket with this agency.
1) They increased the ticket amount as soon as I paid for it. They advised the airline did not have the one I bought available anymore.
2) Recently found out that the international ticket I bought was cancelled. Not only the international one, but all the stops on it as well.
I called them plus the airline to fix this. They didn't have a proposal for another ticket, so I just wanted a refund.
Agency advised they will not issue a refund, that the ticket is non refundable and I am not due anything. This would be enough for a customer to be frustrated, but adding to the trouble, I spoke to an unprofessional and disrespectful agent. I advised I would contact DOT and file a complaint, as I am paying for an unused service.
An agent called Maverick replied: "Go ahead! You will get a big fat zero".
Such a negative attitude towards the customer. I will report this, and make this known so for sure no one makes the poor decision of buying anything from this agency.
And for the others, know your rights. Contact the Department of Transport. They have a form online where you can fill out your information and write the details of what happened. By law, if any airline that touches US soil cancels your flight, you are entitled to a refund. This is a non used service that you paid for. But airlines/travel agencies have been playing this game as things are very confused right now with COVID.

Seems freud honestly I don't want to give this one…

Honestly I don't want to give this one star too. Am waiting for my refund from aproc one year and 2 months before they said it will be in my account in 3 weeks. And now its 8 week. I called today and they said they can't help me. About it. So ridiculous. I don't recommend it to anyone. If wanna save your money don't even try to book from fare scan

Very unprofessional.

Very unprofessional.. feels like I am being scammed twice . I had booked a return ticket for my parents due to COVID the flight was canceled , they refused to do a refund and if I wanted a refund I would basically loose 75% of what I paid , to get a future credit I had to pay $300 per ticket or loose all my money because we would be considered a no show ( don’t understand how that’s possible when the airline canceled the flight ) . Ok paid the $600 for 2 tickets for future credit , called today to book new ticket and this time rather then booking a return ticket only booking 1 way because my parents are going to be staying a while . Total value of credit was $1845 for 2 return tickets , was told today that it will cost about $140 more for each ticket to be booked for 1 way .. are you serious found the same ticket they are trying to book for my parents online for 1100 .. they told me I can only use this credit once .. I was willing to loose my balance on the credit that’s about $683 but they want me to pay $280 more ??? What kind of business are they running .. tickets I am trying to book now are $683 cheaper from the previous booking , I can live with that but pay them 240 more why .. paid 600 extra to keep my credit $1845 now more money .. will be the last time using them !!

Horrible experience . Refund taking literally a year .

Made a reservation with them for almost 3000 us dollars for my entire wife’s family . They first of all charged hefty cancellation fees and made the final amount I would refunded back down to 2200 dollar but wait it gets much better . Wayy back in may they said it would take 1-2 billing cycles ( not sure why soo long since air India doesn’t say they take that long on their website ) . 2 billing cycles later they say it will take 3-4 billing cycles. 4 billing cycles later they say it will take 10-12 billing cycles . “ nothing we can do airline has not paid” . I am not a very rich person and I desperately need this money back as it is on credit card but they are content taking their own sweet time with it and not bothering to make any amends . Obviously the last last time I am ever booking from these terrible booking agencies . Last I called them they said it may take a year . What the hell is one year ??!!! That is like taking a loan from an unwilling borrower . I have a family to feed and a lot of things I need that money for !!

Anyone booking please learn from my mistake . Even if it is a bucks extra spend it and book from someone else . I have had decent experiences with cheapoair or even just directly through the airline themselves . It is 2020, you really don’t need a middleman agent in reality .

Please please do not book from these people .

DO NOT USE THEM!!!

I am now filing a claim with my credit card because these people are basically refusing to issue a refund, even though the airline processed my July 2020 trip refund by mid August. A full refund at that, even though farescan attempted to give me a partial refund and stated that’s all the airline was providing. This was my first and last time booking through a third party. Farescan is nothing but a bunch of criminals giving you the run around. “Oh this person processed your refund. She’ll call you back when she’s back in office with an update”. Still waiting on that call. A damn joke.

Never ever book through this website.

Literally the professional website to loot the money. They wanted to make money regardless of the circumstances. I would have given negative star if it was possible. Previously i made a booking through this website where the journey was cancelled due to covid-19. The airlines offered free credit voucher but these guys asked me to pay $75 in-order to process the voucher. Later when i want to book with my credit they asked me to pay $250 USD + penalty as the voucher is not accepted on all the flights. I felt something suspicious and contacted airline support. They made the process easy by booking a ticket for me with my credit within fraction of minutes. It’s better to confirm policy with airlines and proceed with this website. If i had studied law or if i hire any lawyer, i would definitely sue this website for fraud activities. It was a lesson for me to read reviews before booking through any website.

They will try to screw you for your COVID credit, so read this review!

Don't ever use this company to book anything. And make sure you read my workaround at the end of this review, it may help you too. My flight was canceled during COVID. I called to rebook a couple of days ago. First they said they couldn't find my reservation by the PNR number I had from the airline. Then somehow found my reservation and wanted to charge me $159 per person to change the date when the airline advertising price was only $59 different. The customer service rep was condescending and was getting impatient with me as I asked for a breakdown of the fare and taxes etc.. Nothing what he was saying made sense. So I asked for an email breakdown. He instead said I would have to email them! I found all of this very suspicious. So instead I called the airline, explained that when I called Farescan nothing came up with my PNR numbers for them, could they look into it and let me know the status. It was AirTransat and they transferred me to their GBS department. From there I was able to rebook directly with the airline at the price the airline advertised on their website. They said the third party should have been able to make this change for me the same! So I ended up just paying the $59 per person and saved the $200 extra I would have had to pay Farescan--probably a scam!

SCAM..SCAM..SCAM...BUYER BEWARE

If I could give this company a 0 I would have. They have cheated us out if $5000. We had 4 tickets booked to Australia in December and due to Covid all international flights have been cancelled from the airline.
-Called farescan, they said I could have a refund or future credit to be used within 2 years of original purchased date. Opted for credit. Nothing happened.
-Called back changed thier mind said no refund future credit only but now they said only 1 year to travel from original date.
-Hung up called back they said if I wanted a credit if have to call the airline.
-I called the airline, they said BC I booked threw a third party I would have to get credit from them as that's who they already credited back.
- Called back farescan they said they would look into it and get back to me.
-2 weeks went by no call back so I called them
- They are now saying BC Virgin is still flying, I'm able to use the credit for Domestic flights (within Australia I live in Canada) but I have to use the credit on or before Sept 24 2020. Mind you they are telling me this on Oct 15 2020 and my Original flight was for December so I would have had to use my credit before my original flight would have taken place ( mind blowing )
- So basically what they are saying is to bad so sad, you could of used your credit but now we are just keeping your money not my problem.

THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM ... THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN.....

Farescan is 100% a SCAM

If I could give these morons a negative star I would. This company is 100% a SCAM!! I had my flight from Shanghai to LAX cancelled in February of 2020 due to Coronavirus. I talked to the airlines and they said a refund would be issued to Farescan since my flight was booked through them.
After contacting Farescan with my PRN # and my booking info, I was promised a refund by multiple "booking agents" at Farescan but NOTHING ever got refunded. I finally had to file a claim with my bank to report the charge as fraud.
I reached out multiple times to Farescan's escalations department and I never heard back from them.
FARESCAN IS A SCAM, PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS!

This company is a scam

This company should not be allowed to represent the airlines. They are a scam. They have not refunded my ticket (full refund) per Turkish Airlines policy and per their own website policy. They have violated their merchant agreement with Visa & MasterCard and this is the only way to receive the amount they with hold due to not providing a service which they have (or the airline has) cancelled. These people are crooks. They should never be allowed to operate under this or any another airline ticketing consolidator name.

Contrary to their reply, they have not processed a refund and this is now being dealt with the CC Company given that they are in breach of their merchant agreement ie by charging a fee and not providing a service...they are in breach of any published policy from the airline and of their own policy on their website.

I would give them no stars if I could

I would give them no stars if I could. They owed me a refund of 1,000 dollars and kept me running around for 6 months- promising a refund- then denying knowledge of my claim and very existence. The BBB needs to shut these charlatans down!

We did try to get a refund from the airline but to no avail.
Please be informed that as per the airline's policy this ticket is Non-Refundable and as a travel agency we ought to abide by the airline's policy
However, due to COVID-19, Airline allows passengers to redeem an e-voucher/credit voucher for the total amount of their booking, valid for one year from the date of issuance without any penalty but fare difference is applicable, if any.

covid 19 refund

I had booked tickets for May 2020 and flight got cancelled because of COVID 19. I requested refund from farescan and farescan asked 55$ per ticket for issuing a farescan voucher or 425$ per ticket for refund. Both options does not make any sense. I opened a dispute with my credit card and i got the full refund check from my Credit card after 60 days. In the past I had traveled with exploretrip with out any problem. Even though i bought the ticket from farescan, it was booked under exploretrip based on the airline. But if something happens like flight cancellation or refund, we will be in trouble.

Took Months to Receive a Refund

UPDATE: I finally received my refund. Refund was in full. Overall flights are affordable, it’s not a scam site or anything but book at your own risk because you may just be wasting your money.....Since I have received my refund I updated them to 2 stars....

I booked a flight with farescan about 10 months ago. I was notified by the airline that my flight was cancelled (there were no covid-19 travel restrictions for my destination at time of cancellation and I was actually able to fly with another airline). The airline offered me a refund via farescan within 28 business days. Since then I have been contacting farescan for months looking for a refund. First I was told all refund requests were by email but no one ever responded to me. Then I was told the refund was delayed due to the airline. I contacted the airline and of course this was not the case. Then I was told my refund was sent for processing to their billing department and that they were experiencing delays. The last I heard was that the refund would be available within 14 days. Which I heard twice. Now for the past two days I‘ve contacted farescan and I’m being told they are unable to get in touch with billing dept for a status update. I’ve been promised a refund and a return call on the status and I’m still waiting after 3/4 months of emails and calls.
