FarmEd - workshop space

We visited FarmEd to host 2 team workshops and the whole experience was fantastic. The venue was amazing; great meeting spaces, great eating spaces, a really well maintained environment with beautiful views as a bonus! The team there couldn't have been more helpful, from Steve setting up all the equipment we needed to Juan providing the most amazing food and support during the day.
The food was some of the best I've eaten (lemon drizzle biscuits in particular) and so lovely to know you're eating vegetables grown on the farm.

Very tasty lunch

Very tasty lunch, good value for money.
Unfortunately observed one of the staff filling dog bowl with water, then failing to wash their hands. This could have been overlooked had the individual not then proceeded to wash up coffee cups, glasses etc. Staff need to be reminded the importance of personal hygiene when serving food and drinks.

Farm Walk Friday

Farm Walk Friday: Lovely morning with welcome coffee, honey flapjack and a chance to meet the whole group. Suddenly, you realise that you all have at least one thing in common. Really interesting and inspiring tales from interns on their various projects. Learned about soil health, herbal leys, the market garden and irrigation, amongst others. Delicious homegrown lunch and plenty of good company, including Ian and new friends.
I am a no-dig allotmenteer and would love to go back another day to learn about bee keeping.

An insightful and informative day with lovely food to boot!!

I recently attended Doctor on the Farm, Food Mood, with Dr Sally Bell.

It was such a fantastic and insightful day with talks from so many knowledgeable people. I have taken a lot of the information away with me and starting using this in my own day-to-day life.

The walk around the farm and the knowledge learnt really enlightens you about the struggle of farmers in the UK and the challenges they are set.

Afterwards we were treated to a lovely meal that I have tried (unsuccessfully) to replicate at home.

This was my first time at FarmED and it certainly won't be my last.

Sourdough Day

Sourdough Day
Matt provided an interactive day of tips on starter care, bread making techniques and working with heritage grains, to be able to go home and continue my sourdough efforts.
Informative short walk and talk from Ian, the owner, demonstrating different farming techniques, the costs, the impacts on the land and health. A balanced view demonstrating the positives in a move to more sustainable farming practices, care of the land for the future and better food.
Fabulous lunch. Beautiful setting.

My husband and I have just had a brilliant day learning about heritage grains and sourdough making. Matt, the baker, was an awesome tutor, and we had a great talk about FarmEd and the ethos of the NfP business. Oh, and there was delicious lunch too. Thank you!
