AVOID!!

If I could give zero stars I would. When we had wifi set up with Fast WiFi Wales they couldn't be more helpful. Advising us about the government grant, getting us set up and connected quickly. It all started out great! It worked good for a year or so and then that's where it went down hill. It completely stopped working for 2/3 weeks over Christmas, and no one was answering me as to what was happening. No one got on touch, no email no text nothing to advise there was an issue, and when it would be back working. It finally came back on in January after a few weeks. Then it stopped working again months later, and I had to beg someone to come out and check our equipment from them. It took weeks and weeks of me begging Isabelle to arrange for an engineer to come out. My emails would just be ignored, or excuses made on my phone calls to them, and I was told to just see if it comes on in a day or 2. It didn't, i would ring them again and just go around in circles, this went on for weeks!! Finally an engineer came out. He couldn't fix the problem, as the problem was the ariel was no longer picking up wifi. He tried their newer ariel and it worked. They would not supply us a new ariel, and that was it, our wifi never worked again with the equipment we had from fast wifi wales, the equipment that we were in contract with them with and paying them £60 a month!!!. We were told we could pay I think it was £800 upfront for a new ariel to get our wifi back working again, that was the only solution given to us. We declined!!
They will offer you zero customer service, they do not care at all once you are signed up with them. Your equipment will fail like mine did and it will never work again. They will just keep blaming EE, and make excuses. Then when you ring EE they will advise there is no problem at all with signals, no outage, no issue with wifi connections and the issue is only with Fast Wifi Wales! I took it up with EE Technical Team and EE complaints, and there really was no issues with EE at all, it was with Fast Wifi Wales and their equipment!!
Fast WiFi Wales do not care one bit, they will take your money, and if the equipment stops working and you have zero wifi you are on your own to try and sort it out yourself, they will not help at all. Ours never came back on with the equipment from them, we were left without wifi and they didn't care one bit!

Avoid, dont put yourselves through the utter stress we did, go to a reputable company that offers good wifi for half the price, that cares about their customers, and offers great customer service and resolves any issues, and importantly doesn't leave you with equipment that stops working and zero wifi!!!

To the Manager, please don't even bother to comment on my review, so that you can make up lies about EE being the issue, and the excuses for your disgustingly poor service, as I've already heard them all before. Our wifi never worked again with the ariel we had from you, and you just left us like that!!

I’ve had a mixed experience with this…

I’ve had a mixed experience with this company. Ok the system worked well enough, but once the contract expired I wanted to cancel it. EE told me I couldn’t as it was set up by a third company (fast Wi-Fi wales) so I asked them to cancel it for me. They didn’t and told me I needed to cancel it myself through EE. Long and short of it is that I now have a demand for a service I haven’t used and have tried to cancel both through EE and Fast Wi-Fi wales.
But this isn’t the worst of it. I have discovered that the whole business model here is not really to supply fast Wi-Fi to people in rural areas, it is purely to access government grants. The truth is anyone can buy the equipment necessary for around £150 (currently being offered at a “discount” of £600 by fast Wi-Fi wales), and can be operated perfectly well with a sim from EE for around £20/mth (I was paying £60/mth and was offered it recently for around £40/mth from fast Wi-Fi wales). From what I can see once they have supplied the equipment at over inflated prices, they do pretty much nothing apart from take £20/mth from you. You don’t need them.
The Welsh government is overpaying these people for a service that is completely unnecessary.
My advice would be to avoid them and get your own outdoor 4/5g router.

If I could do 0 stars I would

If I could do 0 stars I would. July 2024 the Internet went from 40mbps to below 1mbps! After various phonecalls and email to Isabelle and more often than not being ignored. A year on we are still getting disgusting speeds. A phonecall to EE themselves rather than Fast WiFi Wales has highlighted that it is practically a scam. EE does not cover our area. Therefore the system should never have been installed. They also stated how it would work for a small amount of time and then not which is EXACTLY what is happening.
They are not following OFCOM regulations as the contract is no longer viewable.
We are now going with another provider thanks to EEs help and guidance.

Do not trust this company as they will take your money and will not care.

OFCOM, Trading Standards & The Welsh Government will be informed of this and we have so much proof.

Hello,

Thankyou for this feedback.

As you have pointed out that when we installed the equipment you were getting good speeds at 40mbps. This is great news, however I understand your frustration if the speeds have declined.

Unfortunately, we only install the equipment which receives the internet and does not transmit the internet. This is purely in the hands of EE. It’s EE’s network – Similar to if you had a TV aerial on your home and your favorite TV channel stopped transmitting, you wouldn’t go back to the installer (let’s call him Dave) of your TV aerial and threaten them with the above, this may come across as a bit silly. Dave is not a TV executive – Dave is a installation Engineer.

Sometimes TV antennas need adjusting, or your TV needs retuning (pre-streaming days) – this is the same with your router, and we can help with that.

I feel you may be venting your frustration in the wrong direction. I am happy to explain the set up and the detail of how your system works if you would like?

I am unaware of the Ofcom rules/Trading standards/Welsh Gov regulation you are referring to, but I have asked the office to co operate with any questions that arise.

Many Thanks
The Fast Wifi Wales Team

Refreshing change!

Having been raoed for years by BT and the standard group of charletens that perport to be reputable a fast polite and efficient chap came out and installed, took 1 Meg at best to 50!! Not the cheapest sim rental but worth it for the service, seriously impressed.

Do not trust these people!

Do not trust these people they are pushy salesman until they get the grant money and then you are left with a system that doesn't work and are fobbed off with excuses as to why it is and no help at all thereafter. I had a better signal before they got involved, at least my children could do their homework at the very least. After countless emails simply asking them to refit my old system that the engineer pulled off the wall and left hanging so it could not be used again I was simply given the same excuse over and over and I am now being completely ignored. Do not trust this company.

Hello,

Thankyou for taking the time to review our company, I am very sorry you feel we have not met your expectations.

We operate under a grant-based system which pays for the equipment to be installed that is capable of a 30mb download speed. Every installation the customer must witness this. As this system uses the mobile phone network, we are unable to offer a guaranteed speed.

We offer a truly unlimited data package which includes full remote and onsite support, prices for this can be found on our website but currently £36 plus VAT.

We also offer an installation only package giving customers the freedom to choose from the whole market of data providers, however it is explained preinstall, that we have no control over the performance, billing, fair use policy or constraints of your chosen provider.

Unfortunately, as you are not a data customer of ours and you have opted out of our support plan, we are unable to assist you further. We are happy that the installation is correct, and we have done everything we have been contracted to do.

We have installed over 2000 systems to date with a small number of complaints often associated with the incorrect plan that has not been taken through us.

If you would like to opt in of the support plan, then we can investigate further why you may be having issues.

Kind regards
Nathan Goldsworthy

THE PERFECT ANSWER TO RURAL WOES ON THE INTERNET

Very polite and efficient engineer. System installed and is proving the complete answer to decades of slow internet.

Excellent installation and if it wasn't not for the letter from the company, we would have no knowledge at all of the offer .

Go for it if you are undecided as it is perfect.

Good job

Installation process was straightforward, the installer was polite and efficient. Clear information provided re WAG grant provision; communication throughout process from Fast Wifi Wales was excellent. Time will tell whether our internet is better - but so far, so good, download speeds massively better thus far.

They do not even own the internet…

They do not even own the internet provided at all. So when the service is down they just do nothing and tell you to wait. It was perfectly fine for over 1 year but now it has gone down and they do not want to even help in any way. I have called and asked repeatedly for help as I work from home so each day i lose more and more. But a month later and still nothing. No help. No care. They always leave you with the classic ''Ill get back to you'' and they do not. I would love to be able to write more positives but nothing but negative for the past 2 months.

Just had the initial consultation.

Just had the initial consultation by phone but unfortunately we have decided not to go with this as it won't eradicate our problem of slower broadband and will cost a lot more than we are paying now.
However, all well explained and calls were clear precise and professional.

Hello,

Many thanks for this feedback, I'm sorry to hear you don't feel our system will help with your needs. Every day we deliver faster and more reliable speeds to our customers using equipment funded by the ABC grant from the Welsh Government.

Our price structure and packages remain one of the most flexible in the industry by allowing customers to use the whole market to pick data packages from.

We appreciate our own packages are a little more expensive should customers choose to use us. However, this is a calculated price based on level of cover, after care and the service we offer.

Should you ever need our services again, please do get in touch and we will happily help in getting you connected.

Many thanks

Life changing

Life changing

We finally have internet! after so many years not being able to stream or game, we opted for the upgraded 5G router which has given us a download speed of over 400mbps.....Our BT line doesn't even get 1....Bt offered another 4G option however not as good and more expensive.....

The engineer was very efficient and tidy, the application process was what you would expect for a welsh government however fast wifi wales talked us through the process and made it easy.

I and my gaming household can not recommend Fast Wifi Wales enough. Thank you so much!!!!

Business saving!!

I work from home so having reliable internet is so important to me and my business. We were with BT for years and the speeds were slow and inconsistent. Fast Wi-Fi wales have been a lifesaver. They explained the tech to me and were very patient with my questions as I’m a bit useless with this stuff. I knew it might not solve all my internet issues as it’s a mobile broadband solution , but the test speeds were good so I decided to give it a go- particularly since it was funded by the welsh government. I’ve had the system in place for a year now and honestly it’s been amazing, the speeds have allowed us to run all the usual internet based things we need as a family with no issues , but more importantly I can work from home holding video calls reliably. There has been the odd day that we have experienced outages but these are rare and the team have been great at explaining this to me when I’ve called. I highly recommend this as a solution to slow speeds and as a company to work with. Thank you !
