Borealis Rules. Best bikes ever!

I have bought two fat bikes and love them both. Custom ordering was a great experience. My first Borealis has been such a pleasure to ride. Peace on Wheels. I was traveling a lot and decided to treat myself to a second destination Borealis. Again, pleasure to custom order. Shipping was fast and assembly was pretty easy. I had some questions while putting it together. The assembly video was thorough but being a rookie builder I had additional questions. The staff was super responsive and I got it together. A pleasure to ride that one as well.
I’m honestly looking for an excuse to buy another for a new destination bike.
The carbon frames make the bikes very responsive and light I’m 61 years old and ride a standard fork and a Lauf shock fork. Not a crazy rider anymore so didn’t feel the need for big shocks. The tires provide a good anoint of shock absorption so unless you are doing radical downhill or monster trails, save the money, weight, maintenance and go with the fixed standard fork. If you are young or crazy, go for big RockShock.
I also got a set of 29” wheels with thinner tires. Faster and less resistance, but I prefer the ride of the 4-4.4 fat guys. It’s nice having an extra set of wheels but there’s a cost to the 29s. Might consider another set of 26’s with Bud and Lou snow tires that you could throw on when your regulars are flat! I ride one bike tubeless. The rims and tires hold seal as well or better than my skinny 29ers on my other bikes.
My second bike I run with tubes. Makes it heavier but barely notice the difference.
Best bikes ever

This bike was a concession to Climate…

This bike was a concession to Climate Change...shoulder seasons and ski conditions being what they are now I thought screw it, I'm going to have to have a fat bike for these seasons. I rode it quite a bit the first winter I owned it, as XC ski conditions were such that it was a good alternative when XC conditions were mediocre. I decided to swap out the pedals for my summer pedals and rode it last summer, initially as a curiosity. I quickly figured out that it was the fastest bike I owned....faster than my Cannondale Scalpel or 29er. Only rarely does either bike top it on a split of the rides I do. I can't explain it but numbers don't lie.

aluminum wheelset ($300)

I bought a $300 aluminum wheelset, they turned out to be very weak and not great quality wheels, they became wobbly after every mountain trail ride. ok price but i wouldnt recommend it. also, both tuubes came with holes

High quality super light bike

High quality super light bike. Quick delivery. I've had the bike for 2 years now riding on the beach. I wash it with water after every ride. Only issue I had was the hydraulic brake cylinder which was a recall issue from the shimano company.

This fat bike is a very nice product…

This fat bike is a very nice product and has a lot of flexibility for different wheels and components. The front angle is a bit steeper than I thought but can be cured with a different stem.
Climbs like a goat and descending is sooo fun.

Garbage quality

Garbage quality. Topcoat bubbled up hubs cracked(my father and I both weight below 190) and they blamed it on being used by heavy riders

My best ever bike.

I've had a lot of bikes in my life, but my Borealis is my favorite. I live in a rural area and can ride it anywhere in any weather condition.
