Não utilize a FELIRENT na Italia (Do not use FELIRENT in ITALY)

A locadora Felirent, em Milão, é péssima. Evite, o máximo possível, alugar carro com a mesma. A retirada demorou mais de 3 horas. Chegamos à locadora as 20hs/local, saímos com o veiculo as 22:30 local. Uma única funcionaria estressada com excesso de trabalho para atender vários clientes. Cada cliente, havia 3 antes de mim, levou em média 1 hora p preencher os cadastros e solicitações da locadora. O local não tinha iluminação adequada. Não havia o carro reservado, tivemos de obrigatoriamente aceitar um similar inferior ou ficaríamos sem carro. Não houve vistoria formal para entrega do veiculo. Tentamos fazer vídeo, mas devido a baixa iluminação do local o vídeo ficou escuro. A entrega foi horrível. A atendente (diferente da que entregou o veiculo) foi extremamente grosseria. Acusou-me de ter avariado o veiculo em três oportunidades, as quais vídeo e fotos desmentiram todas, mesmo assim, me impôs uma cobrança de 260,00 Euros por um arranhão de menos de 2 cm que não cometi e que, também, estava no veiculo antes da entrega. Tentou, de todas as formas, me coagir ameaçando que não entregaria o documento de fechamento do contrato e que eu perderia o voo. Quando disse que iria chamar a policia, a mesma atendente, disse que a policia iria tomar “uns splits e drinks” por ela estar me ameaçando e chantageando. Só consegui sair da locadora uma hora e meia depois do horário de entrega sem aceitar pagar. Ainda enviam cobranças e ameaças por e-mail.

"The rental company Felirent in Milan is terrible. Avoid renting a car from them as much as possible. Picking up the car took over 3 hours. We arrived at the rental office at 8:00 PM (local time) and left with the vehicle at 10:30 PM (local time). There was only one overworked and stressed employee handling multiple customers. Each customer (there were 3 before me) took about an hour on average to complete the rental paperwork and requests. The place had poor lighting. The reserved car wasn’t available, so we were forced to accept a similar but inferior vehicle or go without a car. There was no formal inspection upon vehicle handover. We tried recording a video, but due to the low lighting, the footage came out too dark. The pickup experience was horrible. The attendant (different from the one who handed over the car) was extremely rude. She accused me of damaging the vehicle twice, but video and photo evidence disproved all claims. Still, she charged me 260.00 Euros for a scratch less than 2 cm long on the rear bumper, which I didn’t cause and was already there at pickup. She tried every way to intimidate me, threatening not to give me the contract closing document and saying I’d miss my flight. When I said I’d call the police, the same attendant claimed the police would have 'a few splits and drinks' for her while she was threatening and blackmailing me. I only managed to leave the rental office an hour and a half after the scheduled return time without agreeing to pay. They still send me payment demands and threats via email."

Paid, left stranded, no car, no refund — avoid this company

We booked and prepaid a rental car directly on Felirent.it, including airport pickup from Malpensa. They had our flight details, but no one showed up. No representative, no instructions, no contact point. After waiting, we found a Felirent shuttle by chance — the driver told us to wait 5 minutes and never came back.

We were left stranded at night for over 1.5 hours. No response from phone or email — apparently they close at 22:00, even though they know flights arrive later. We had to pay for our own transport to the hotel and were left without the car we paid for.

If you're wondering why this company has such poor ratings — this is exactly why. Unreliable, irresponsible, and unreachable. Avoid at all costs if you don’t want to risk losing both your money and your time.

We're requesting a full refund and will escalate this to our bank and European consumer authorities.

Crooks - Truffatori

Because I used a debit card, they forced me to buy "Gold protection" for an extra amount of 148 Euro. This insurance covers everything, according to their conditions. When I brought back the car, it had a scratch on the back bumper. Despite the fact that I was fully covered by the insurance I paid extra, they charged me another 61 Euro. I called back to ask about that, and the lady at the reception, told me she will check and come with an answer. That never happened. When I called again it didn't answer. They also modified the original contract in order to add the extra amount, and used my signature without my consent. This is forgery, a criminal action.
So stay away of these crooks. Rent from somebody else.

DON'T DEAL WITH FELIRENT

These people use every dirty trick in the book.
We arrived at 10.30am instead of 8.30am and they said they would charge 51 euros penalty. We were charged 10 euros for cleaning and 41 euros for recovery neither of which we wanted. I'm sure they got an upsell bonus for that!
They took ages to produce the documents on their ipad for signing and complain when you check the car. They then rush you through the signing process so that you miss the bits that you don't want or agree to but they add anyway.
On return we handed the keys to an employee on site 15 mins before the opening time and the office staff came in at the same time. They were going to charge 80 euros for us being early but "discovered" a missing ashtray later on. It wasn't there originally and probably multiple charges have been made for it to unfortunate renters.
They charged 80 euros for a missing ashtray and have challenged us to prove that it was not there to begin with.
There were no mats in the car.
They have clearly done this often because they have blank faces and obviously follow a script.
We will take this all the way legally but meanwhile, go and get car hire elsewhere, for your own sanity.

3 hour queue

We had booked a car rental through Stressfreecarrentals.com, with Felirent, from Olbia airport in Northern Sardinia. The signs from Olbia airport terminal are confusing because they direct customers to the car pick up area, which is a fair walk. We then had to walk all the way back to the terminal because it turned out that the Felirent desk was located inside the terminal building (we were not the only customers to have missed it). We then stood in the queue for 3 hours - there was no communication whatsoever from Felirent as to the reason for the delay. When we finally got to the front of the queue the customer service representative told us that her colleague was ill and that she was on her own hence the delay. We felt sorry for her but also concluded that if there had been 2 people assisting customers we still would have waited for 1,5 hours, which is completely unacceptable. I have complained to both Felirent and Stressfreecarrentals.com requesting compensation due to the delay, but so far have got nowhere. Both parties keep referring me to each other and refusing to accept responsibility - useless. I would not recommend using either Stressfreecarrentals.com or Felirent based on my experience.

Read this before you hire a car from Filirent!

Check your hire car before driving off with it! Very poor maintenance of our Peugeot 5008 (Milan Malpensa branch) - one of the rear pads failed (worn to metal) after 30 mins of driving. Reported it to Filirent - their response - no apology and a suggestion to try another Filirent location in Italy for an alternative! that would be fine if they existed in Bormio - they don’t! Ended up driving 3 hrs each way with a car with defective brakes. On return to the depot at Malpensa, the check-in operatives response to a request for compensation was no apology (again) and “you didn’t crash so the brakes have worked!”. Interesting way of looking at it - glad we didn’t have a crash!

There is a reason why they are cheap - poor customer service and poor maintenance.

Having booked a car on Milano airport

Having booked a car on Milano airport, we figured out the agency is not at the airport, and we had to wait 45 mins for a minibus to drive us outside the airport.
Once there, the agent ask for a credit card. I give my debit card, she starts to complain and want to force me paying additionnal 32 Euros/day for car insurance.
I refuse because I have car rental insurance with my bank card. Since extorting clients seems being the core of her business instead of maintaining the proper care of the cars which I see next the office, we don't make the deal.

Just pick any random traditionnal car rental that is even (a) pricey and (b) at the airport terminal. They'll still be cheaper at the end, and you'll have them right away after landing.

Hidden costs, poor experience

If you’re a tourist, don’t use this rental service. We hired through Auto Europe and were told the insurance we had already paid for wasn’t enough and were required to pay more (37£ per day). Additionally, because we used a debit card instead of a credit card, we were charged a 100£ deposit. They also miscalculated the charges when adding them up to pay through POS and had my partner not told them they would have overcharged us. On top of all of this, we were given a car with half a tank of petrol but were asked to return it with a full tank, another thing my partner had to notify them about so we didn’t get overcharged. We would have walked away and not hired the car after this poor experience, but were told we could not get a refund as we’d hired through Auto Europe. Worst car rental experience I’ve ever had, wouldn’t use this service again.

Felirent Naples airport

I was skeptical booking with them due to poor reviews but the price was significantly cheaper than other big car rental companies. Having said that even the big rental companies had poor reviews so decided to take the plunge. I was surprised that I had no issues at all while collecting or while returning the car. No forceful sales tactics to sell car excess insurance, just asked once and I denied as I had my own car excess insurance. I only paid €10 for car cleaning and €10 for removing the breakdown cover call out charges. €900 euros was blocked as a deposit on my credit card but was returned to me after 4 days after the end of rental period. The car was in good shape apart from some external damage. Make sure to take a video and photos before renting so you have proof if things go wrong. Only thing to be prepared is their collection point is around 350m from the main terminal so be prepared to walk with your luggage! There are reviews here where people apparently have been charged after few weeks or months. It this happens I will update this review.

Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.

Do yourself a favour and pay a little more for a reputable company. Nothing with this company was good. We waited in a queue for over 2 hours to get our car, and had to wait an additional 20 minutes in the car park as they didn’t have enough cars and hadn’t washed the previous car. Upon return we got slapped with €25 for car washing which I never had to pay in my entire life after renting a car. Companies like these should not be allowed to operate in this day and age.

Not at the airport

We made reservations for a car that we could pick up at the airport. NOT to be picked up the airport and then transported to the rental place at some shady industrialized zone outside of the airport.

Never rent a car fromHere

First off the place is a half hour from Palermo Airport. The people are criminals. Do not rent here. They have no amenities and the customer service stinks. Our car came so dirty and they charged a cleaning service before we rented. The windows had disgusting writing. Be very careful when renting from the US and make sure to never rent from this place!

We had great service from Felirent

We had great service from Felirent. Staff were helpful, and spoke great English, which was important as we speak no Italian! We were picked up from the airport, and dropped at the correct location. Returning the car was quick and painless and we were dropped back at the airport promptly. They even sorted the car as we had been unable to sort fueling it before it's return.

Great service would recommend.

Chose for price and got what we paid for…

Chose for price and got what we paid for. They really stretched the ‘or similar’ definition to its absolute maximum - we booked a Jeep, got a tired MG mini SUV with a boot big enough for only 1 suitcase and zero power (apparently they don’t actually own any Jeeps…). It was also pretty badly damaged, and they scrutinised every pre-existing scrape on return so please make sure you take good pictures on pick up. Advertised as ‘in airport’ but on arrival found this was not the case and required a 10 minute walk to a collection point for a further 10 minute shuttle. Would be a 1 star or lower had it not been so cheap - as I say we got what we paid for… if you are flexible on time and relaxed what car you get then probably a great option for value.

DO NOT BOOK FELIRENT!!!!!!!!!!

DO NOT BOOK FELIRENT!!!!!!!!!!! We were told they were on airport site. We had to walk pulling our cases and wait at a busy roundabout to be picked up and driven to the back of beyond to get the hire car. When we tried to return the car we couldn’t find the location. Took us 45 minutes to locate the drop off. Again when we were driven back to the airport we were just abandoned by the side of the road. The staff were not at all helpful and the driver was rude. We were also told we had to return the car back having been cleaned both inside and outside but we could pay them €10 so we didn’t have to worry about it. Never ever had that before. The WORST car hire experience we have ever had and we’ve travelled all over the world!! I’ve never written on trust pilot before but I’m soooooo angry that I had to warn others about this company. DO NOT BOOK.
