Kate has restored two very old wooden chairs that were my grandmothers. She removed all the old dark stain and restored them back to a glowing natural wood. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her work.

Today we collected our table top that had been refurbished for us. It had a few children knocks and white stains. It’s a fairly old table we have had it for over 30 years but we cherish it. On collection we were amazed at the finish all marks gone shines as if it were new and we were extremely impressed. A great piece of work and thank you.

One large and extremly heavy dining room table and a matching smaller one in need of some love and restoration ! We finally decided that Kate was the right person to bring them back to life. There were concerns on both sides of how the heavy beast of a table would be transported to and from Kate’s workshop, With a little help everything went smoothly. The table well protected for transportation and the finish was exactly what we were looking for.

The due diligence we took leading us to Kate’s website paid off and she comes fully reccomended.

Kate restored 2 inherited pieces of furniture for us that were sentimental but really not our taste. She did a wonderful job replacing the paper and repairing defects in a glass fronted cabinet, but blew us away with the results on an old oriental carved cabinet. This was so darkly stained with ingrained debris after 100 years of use that we thought we may need to paint it to get it looking suitable for a modern home. But the results were outstanding, the cabinet has been stripped and restored to its former glory and we are so happy with the results. Kate is a true perfectionist.

Kate is a true craftsperson. She and Pete have finished renovating our old, wooden, water stained kitchen worktops and they are now unrecognisable. A treat to watch professionals at work, sanding the sycamore back to the original surface, applying 3 coats of oil and finishing as only perfectionists know how!. They were both great to be with, knowledgeable, sharing experiences and indulging Luna our lively labradoodle. Absolutely recommend their work. Liz and Clare

Kate did such a good job with my inherited oak day bed I asked her to take on these 2 ‘steamer’ chairs (I think they were from a steamship) that my late mother secured at an auction in the 1970s. I loved their style and comfort but they had been stained dark and Kate undertook a labour of love to transform them, I just need to find suitable cushions to do them justice…

Kate was great to work with from start to finish. She not only did a great job with the floors, but also sourced extra tradespeople for jobs that we discovered along the way.

I used Femme Fatale Finishes to restore a wooden trunk and a bookcase. They were items of great sentimental value to me. Kate listened to what I wanted and did a superb job. The trunk was in a poor state and she has turned into a beautiful and very useful piece of furniture.
Kate agreed a price before starting the work and there were no hidden extras. She went out of her way to help me collect the items at a time to suit me.

Kate replied promptly to our request and arrived on time and was efficient in doing the staircase. It was well done and she kindly took away the banister which was not attached and finished it at her workshop.
