## Review for FinTutors

After completing my Management Case Study exams in 2018, I became busy with family commitments and full-time work. As a result, I struggled to return to my studies and complete the final stage of my CIMA qualification.

I eventually discovered CIMA’s FLP route and decided to pursue it because it offered greater flexibility around my available time. I completed all three Strategic Level subjects through FLP, but when it came to preparing for the Strategic Case Study exam, I found the process challenging. I had a significant gap since my previous CIMA exam, and I felt that I needed thorough revision, structured guidance, and personal support before attempting the case study.

While searching online for tuition providers, I came across several options. However, many providers had higher fees, did not offer a pass guarantee, or were unable to clearly explain what their revision support and materials would include. I then contacted Dev at FinTutors through WhatsApp. He was extremely helpful and took the time to explain the study structure, available packages, revision approach, and the personal support he would provide.

Because I was returning to exams after such a long break, I wanted more than online study materials. I was particularly looking for one-to-one support and classes where I could ask questions, understand the case study format, and receive guidance on how to approach the exam effectively. FinTutors provided everything I was looking for, and the fees were also very competitive compared with other providers.

The online platform was well organised, with study notes, revision notes, and revision videos clearly laid out. I initially started by watching the videos, but I soon realised that some of the content was already familiar to me. I therefore focused mainly on the revision notes for E3, P3, and F3, using the videos whenever I needed further clarification.

The weekly classes with Dev were particularly valuable. They provided the one-to-one support I needed and covered every important aspect of the Strategic Case Study exam, including:

- What to expect in the exam.
- The areas that could be tested.
- How to structure a strong answer.
- How to break down the question and each requirement.
- How much to write and how much time to spend.
- How to approach a requirement when I was unsure what to say.
- How to develop relevant and well-supported answers.

This guidance significantly improved my exam technique and gave me the confidence I needed to sit the exam after an eight-year gap.

The Fin AI chatbot on the platform was also very useful whenever I needed to clarify a topic or question. I am especially grateful to Dev for the mock exams and detailed feedback. The mocks began with shorter assessments before progressing to full three-hour exams. The marking was challenging, and at first I was disappointed with some of my results. However, the feedback helped me improve gradually and develop stronger answers.

When I sat the actual exam, I realised that it felt easier than the mock exams. I understood the purpose of the demanding mock assessments: they pushed me to improve my writing, analysis, and exam technique so that I was better prepared for the real exam.

I cannot thank Dev and FinTutors enough for the support, guidance, and confidence they provided. After not sitting a CIMA exam for approximately eight years, I am delighted to have passed the Strategic Case Study exam on my first attempt and completed my CIMA qualification.

The mocks are twice as hard as the actual exams, and the marking is also very strict. I actually see this as a huge advantage because, when you eventually encounter a difficult variant in the real exam, you are already mentally prepared for it because you have experienced something similar during your preparation.

I signed up for the 1-1 package after I failed my first attempt of the SCS exams and wish I had done so prior to my first attempt. It would have saved me a lot of time, money and energy.
