Wood Wet and not as described

Crate arrived but all the wood was soaking wet and totally unusable.
Called and arranged for a replacement but nothing arrived. Over the weeks the wood has on the outside dried out but internally it’s still wet.
In addition I ordered Ash but the wood delivered is not Ash but some other ‘softer wood’.
Avoid purchasing from this company.

We got burned twice with…

We got burned twice with Firewoodcentre.co.uk.
Twice a very bad experience. We think they are crooks. First purchase in April 2022, instead of best quality oak, we received a mixture of Birch and Elm, in undersized diameter of soft logs.
We returned, and were refunded.

Second and last purchase in April 2023, instead of good quality hardwood Ash, we received a crate with mainly junkwood, in such a state of rot that it is soft, has zero density, hardly any weight, and is more compost than wood. And we paid a whopping £429 for that. They proposed a measly refund of 30%, for mostly unusable wood.

We came to the conclusion that this it is how Firewoodcentre operates: selling worthless junkwood portrayed as high quality hardwood. Never again.

Avoid this company at any cost!

Great service and customer relations…

After an initial problem with delivery I spoke with a gentleman called Daniel Maby, who instantly sorted out the issue whilst being understanding, helpful and very polite throughout.
Product is good and as described - hats off and well done to Daniel for an excellent service (Thank you)

Shambles

Ordered on 28/08 for delivery 09/09, emailed on 08/09 to say no stock available so I agreed delivery on 11/10. Follow up email from different staff member to confirm delivery 12/10, replied to say I would not be available on 12/10 but would be on 11/10 as previously agreed so they emailed to say it was definitely going to be delivered on 11/10….. no delivery on 11/10, called and emailed several times on 12/10 asking for an update, no response to emails and everyone I spoke to said they didn’t know anything and someone would call me back (which they did not). Only call I had was from the delivery driver sat outside my house at 5pm on 12/10 as he had my delivery….. agreed to leave on my drive in the rain and I had to I unstack and store it when I got home at 10pm. The order was not complete and £140 of stock was missing, when I call the next day I was told that someone should have let me know that the stock was not available until January (no surprise I was not told) and they offered a refund. Refund given at cost so they did not refund the VAT, another phone email to sort. In summary, price is pretty good but the operation is run by unorganised people with absolutely no regards for the customer. No apology offered for the multiple cock ups (I had 2 days off from work as the delivery window is 9-6:30). Would not recommend.

Purchased a bit of fire wood in…

Purchased a bit of fire wood in September for delivery in October. Took a day off just to clear the wood. No one turned up and after ringing the office I was told that the delivery is not going to happen on the day and that they couldn't tell when it will arrive. Disgusting and unreliable people!
