Very disappointed in the company

Very disappointed in the company. They now own Irwin Naturals. I bought their Irwin Naturals product called Healthy Brain ALA & Bacomind. I emailed them a simple question. What type of ALA is it? : R-ALA or S-ALA. They didn't understand my question initially then later said that's proprietary information. Meaning they don't know or they choose not to tell me what I am putting in my body. I'm going to return the product to Vitamin Shoppe. What a strange experience. Seems dishonest to me to hide that information. Better companies out that that tell you what's in the bottle.
