Avoid this gym at all costs

Absolutely filthy gym with equipment that has been broken for months. The staff are kind and do their best to accommodate you, however the company itself is super unprofessional and honestly predatory. Be very careful signing up for a yearly membership as even if you move away, it has to be 30km away from the nearest Fitness World for them to cancel it, which is insane.

This gym is always packed no matter what time of day, and cleanliness rules are definitely not enforced (there is an older gentleman that works out in underwear often, and more than half the users do not wipe down machines).

If you can, literally go to any other gym. Even at $15, or whatever they are charging now biweekly, it is not worth it at all.

Terrible Experience – Membership and Payment Issues

My experience with Fitness World South Surrey has been extremely disappointing. I canceled my membership on November 15, yet they continued to charge me 7 times, deducting a total of $419.71 CAD from my account. When I noticed this, I immediately emailed them. They admitted their mistake and apologized, promising to refund the amount by the end of February.

However, they refused to refund the charge from December 13, claiming that their policy requires a 30-day cancellation period—even though I had already informed them well in advance!

The worst part? On February 21, after all these issues, they charged my account again! When I contacted them again, they said it was a mistake and refunded the charge. But according to my bank’s policy, I was charged a $48 fee for the refund transaction. When I asked the gym to cover this fee—since it was their mistake, not my bank’s—they refused and told me I had to get it from my bank.

Additionally, when I first signed up, I purchased a 5-session personal training package. The trainer never reached out, scheduled a session, or even showed interest. When I asked for a refund, they said it was against their policy but offered to assign me another trainer. I was then paired with someone named Samsung (he was such a nice and polite), but after everything that happened, I completely lost interest and ended up with wasting my money. I couldn't make it my priority!

This gym is poorly managed, full of billing issues, and completely irresponsible when it comes to refunds. They keep making mistakes and refuse to take accountability.

They only send apology emails but take no real responsibility for their mistakes. So, I am under stress now for the next week. Let's see if they purchase again or not! Finger crossed!!
Think twice before signing up for a membership here! Or never do auto-payment! I shouldn't trust them!

I want my money back

I was a member of Steve Nash, I asked and they canceled my membership in JUNE.

Fitness World bought Steve Nash and in October I was charged on my credit card $84. Under Fitness World name.

I never authorized this charge. I want a refund.
