Sent my car to Fix Auto
Sent my car to Fix Auto, via my insurance to have a broken headlight replaced. After a week of them having the car, a technician called to ask what the car was in for? Surely between my insurance and me having a conversation with one of their CS operatives explaining what was wrong, they would know?
They eventually fix the headlight, 3 weeks after receiving the car, only for it to start to be driven back to me… when I get a call to say the headlight is showing a fault. So they turn around and take it back. They managed to recalibrate the light and fix the issue and drive it back to. Again, this has been 3 weeks since taking the car.
I get the car back and the Air conditioning isn’t working. Have a number of calls to say it was working before it was taken by you. In fact, the day the car was taken it was during the excessive heat (36° or more) and I remember sitting in the car showing the collection chap the headlight faults on the dash and then saying “I’ve chucked the air-con for you mate, so the car is nice and cold for the drive back” (which he later denied having the conversation when they came to collect the car again at a later date… I’ll come to that).
After spending £150 for a gas recharge, the garage that did the recharge plugged in their ODB reader to find an Air Con pressure sensor fault. After a few calls and firm words they agreed to take the car back to assess the fault. They admitted the fault was not there when the car initially came in (as they perform an ODB read upon arrival). Yet they still tried to absolve themselves of any responsibility.
Anyway… after many conversations they agreed to fix the fault. Ordered the part, only for it to be the wrong one. Correct part will be 10 days for delivery. So the car is back with me, still with no air con while I wait for the part.
Whole experience was an absolute shambles.
Only shining light was a chap called Donovan, who has actually tried to get this sorted for me. He agreed to getting the air condition sorted, after being fobbed-off by one of their previous CS operatives.
