Avoid at all costs

Avoid at all costs. We ordered an electric stove from By The Fire south coast in May 2023 at the price of £1395.00. We paid our money but never received the fire. We are not the only ones that this has happened to. They take your money but never deliver the goods. My wife and I are in our 80s and feel we have been duped out of our money. This has caused undue stress for us both. Recently we have bought an electric stove from a much more trusted company. Which has cost us more money. This company also operates under different company names. So again be careful.

This man took my money and disappeared. He hides behind a made up call centre, never returns calls or emails and then blocked me.On the couple of times I did manage to speak to him he simply fobbed me off with one excuse after another.This man seems to be leaving a trail of dissatisfied people being owed thousands. I am nearly a year from purchasing and parting with my money to this man and his company. He appears to walk through life spending customers money on holidays abroad without actually sending them their purchases. After parting with my money I am still without part of my order and an installed log burner. I have had to re order all the missing parts from elsewhere.Do your homework and don’t deal with this man or his company.I have since opened a case with my bank in an attempt to recover my money.

Scam

Scam, £1600 paid for and since then no updates or replies. Phones go to a call Center, don’t believe positive reviews as they’re a lie. How’s he still aloud to trade !! This company will go belly up soon with everyone’s money.
Now they’re trying to block this review!! Trading standards have been made aware

Months and months and still no refund…

Months and months and still no refund or any contact from Danny.

Avoid at all costs.

Danny has now “flagged” this review as containing illegal claims.

Just look at all the other reviews.

He doesn’t give you what you pay for. I’m apparently not allowed to use a particular word in this review for people who deliberately deceive people, but that’s what he does.
He has evidently deliberately misled people.

We did eventually buy a log burner from another provider (Fires2Go), who were AMAZING.

I’m not sure how Danny has managed to evade criminal prosecution for so long.

Do not under any circumstances buy from this person or company. Unless you like to lose money and never hear from him again, which seems to be Danny’s primary modus operandi.

If you leave a negative review, he will flag it with Trust Pilot.

Buyers Beware!

Unfortunately this has been a very stressful and costly experience; just like other recent reviewers have said, this company took my money (£5k) and never supplied the goods. I ordered a Stuv fire in October, due for delivery by end February. The owner ignored numerous phone calls and emails and cancelled any appointments we tried to make to see him. In the end I contacted Stuv directly who told me my order had never been placed, and that they had closed BTF’s account with them. I’m shocked to see he is still in business and even advertising on Facebook. Buyer beware!!

Avoid, order at your peril

Avoid, terrible customer service. Ordered an electric fire and surround 8th November 2022, four weeks or so later arrived damaged. Got hold of bythefiresouth whose first words were, it left us fine and they would contact the courier for pictures. I asked how he knew it was ok when it left them because the straps were still in place around the box it was unopened and it was strapped to the pallet. Didn’t really answer, so I sent them pictures of the undamaged box and the damaged fireplace in the box. Eventually they agreed to get it picked up and order a replacement, this was over the Xmas period. Tried to contact them multiple times after the new year to try and get a delivery time frame, eventually got hold of them to which they replied they weren’t dealing with that fireplace anymore as they had had a few damaged. They offered a refund, I asked them when they were going to let me know this and how long did they know they weren’t going to deal with this fireplace. No real answer, some 2 weeks after, and after trying multiple times to get hold of them I managed to speak to them and got my refund after some strong words. I don’t think these people know anything about customer service because once you’ve paid you don’t hear a thing unless you contact them yourself.

AVOID-DON"T DELIVER-POOR COMMUNICATION

In common with many other customers we ordered a stove online, paid for, heard nothing for weeks, weeks of chasing, then told stove not available, offered alternative which we declined, weeks of chasing to get a refund, if we got a reply we were told it was being processed, got nothing back, had to pursue through our credit card company. I notice that they have removed the business from google as they were getting many negative google reviews-AVOID

Never sent stove or replied to any of my messages

I ordered a Quaruba stove on line from their website and paid in full.
They never sent the order or replied to any of my messages. They completely ignored me for 3 months.
It took over 4 months for me to get a refund using my bank. I have notified trading standards about this terrible organization.
