Why I'll never buy here again (part 2).
After receiving the not really free samples, Flapbanken asked why I hadn't purchased a flapbank yet. Having the previous experience freshly in my mind, I didn’t want to pay more than the price seen on their website. I was guaranteed that any additional costs (import, customs, delivery etc.) would not be anything I had to worry about, they would cover it all. So, I purchased. And here begins the misery.
Customs kept my package for over 2 months because I had to prove its worth. I had to sort this all out myself with import documents I did not have.
My experience with FedEx was also horrible. Called with them many times, they randomly deliver half of the packages, then the other half they lost for a few weeks and finally they deliver it in front of my building. Both packages came in damaged and with 2 of the 4 cushions never delivered. When I asked them how they were going to make up for this damaged, incomplete couch, I got replied with "it is still functional".
On top of that I received an invoice from FedEx, demanding me to pay €438 for the import and storage costs at customs for so long. I fastforwarded this invoice to Flapbanken, reminding them of their own promise that no additional costs would be mine to pay. They said they’d take care of it and then they didn't. I received two more urgent invoices of FedEx because the invoice was still not being paid for. Contacted Flapbanken for weeks on all their platforms - e-mail, whatsapp, social media. They read my messages but months later still not a word back from them.
Now, months later they did reach out. To bribe me so I would take this review offline.
Edit: I never ordered a LEGO bank (I order an open corner flapbank), nor do I have or ever had two units in my possession. Despite the initial delay, no proactive actions were undertaken at all.
I had to promise to take this review offline in order to get my FedEx costs back.
The sofa I did receive was damaged and incomplete - to which this team responded that it is still functional.
For this inconvenience I did pursue a partial refund, which I was promised to get once I took my reviews offline. In the end Flapbanken paid for the FedEx invoice, which was never mine to pay + a partial refund. Final settlement: I still paid 55% of the total price, not 20% like they claim. And no, I do not have a spare LEGO bank. Maybe confused me with other clients that are not happy with your services.
