Why you keep asking to update my account which I had paid already in advance the site is poor.been asking all household if pet friendly no respond or they are not updated there site

The site allows advertisers to read your messages, which alone is an absolutely despicable practice. I'm sure it's in their TOS, because that's just what greasy companies like this do. Low ratings absolutely deserved.

Don't waste your time like I did on this website.

I created a listing which went into pending which lasted for ages. Next my account has been banned for no reason!

I have been on flatmates.com.au now for months… And only have Found it to be absolutely useless… I haven’t successfully found a single tenant through this site and they continually send emails with profiles of people That do not suit at all… I stipulate no couples and all I get is profiles of couples… ABSOLUTE WASTE OF MONEY!!!!

Monopoly and corrupted company. Please dont even think about use it.

This website looks like FAKE ,
They used not real persons as renters to contact me one time after my paying $ 44.99 then disappear.
They may earn big sum money to treat people . It is shame of them .

This site practices moderating abuse.

Beware of how you interact with others. Completely innocent interactions can be reported and these soft co#k moderations are trigger happy and childish. Unable to do their jobs properly and investigate they just blanked block. and if called out on their behavior double down.

Banned perinatally because I replied to someone, they were a "massive b*t#h" upon receiving an unnecessarily cruel response to my enquiry about their advertised room. This ban has affected my business as I was doing outreach trying to find my clients suitable accommodation. Because it's so farking difficult to get room at the moment in Queensland. But these f*#kers at Flatmates.com are snowflakes, the monitors trip on power and make the lives of users very difficult. How about stay the f*#k out of peoples DM's and if a report is made and you have access to chat history view it in its entirety before banning the actual victim of verbal abuse. F*#king snowflake b*t#hes. I bet you all have blue hair and faggy voices too. loser site

I could not believe how FAKE this site can be. They inundate you with "potential" renters when they don't even meet the profile you want! Plus, after you pay to be able to contact potential renters, they use FAKE people that contact you but NEVER turn up!!!

Used the website to source a housemate, turns out the guy had numerous warrants out for his arrest, the same guy came back to my house after disappearing for 4 weeks running from the police to break & enter to my house.
After sending all this information through to flatmates.com.au to prevent this guy doing the same thing to someone else, they couldn’t have cared less. Also note everytime I remove my ad from their website I continue to get enquires for months after. They don’t remove your property once you think you have removed it making their available properties list seem larger. Disgusting company

Banned for no reason. Emailed support and they don't tell you why expect to read the T@C. It seems like FM is run by a pack of immature children that ban for no reason after reading the reviews here. It's best to AVOID websites that are run by snowflakes like this!

The best thing about flatmates is that people can provide all the information required, tick all the boxes , very well laid out , unfortunately most people do not , they then write a bad review saying they get no reply , my reply rate is about 20%, 80 % of people do not read the information provided , or provide relevant information, 100% of people say how lovely and clean they are , ha ha, basic information should be , length of stay , have a job ect , A good website , have used for many years , do not blame flatmates for issues if you do not understand what is relevant information , and how to read relevant information

I've tried posting a rent for house help ad. The process was pain. They accused me of exploitation because in their view the job did not pay as well as cleaning job. In my view, people can at their free will choose either the conditions I offer or a cleaning job. I am not exploiting anyone as long as I pay above minimum wage whether this is money or rent.
I have tried to explain to them why my job is more attractive than a cleaning job, but they just blocked me. Other people in other reviews also mentioned that they block everyone who politely disagrees with them.
Looking at the overall score of this company it seems like they are indeed hopeless.

FIFO need only apply
This site almost exclusively promotes early bird listings spammed continuously into my battered inbox. Early bird of course is the “paid” option of flatmates.
The advertisers here in Perth 9 times out of 10 want FIFO workers. In other words. Tenants who pay more and stay there less. Sure they all list as “anyone is welcome” but when you get on the phone with them it’s FIFO this and FIFO that, and they’d prefer FIFO etc.
I have impeccable references but in Perth the only reason there’s a housing shortage is because Real estate agents and greedy landlords can afford to wait for the juicy paycheck of a miner or a full time employed person. There’s a lot of reasons people don’t work full time but if their references are good and they have the money then what’s your problem? Don’t get me started on Centrelink receivers. They won’t get a sniff at all. I repeat, there’s no housing shortage, there’s a common sense shortage. 1 star, which is 1 star more than they deserve.

We have an accommodation shortage here, and I can't message people who have advertised, and really need somewhere asap, unless I pay a fee. So these people miss out when they have already paid for a service, What a Joke.... I'm going to the backpackers to put up a flyer and the locals miss out!

Very bad support, received a flood of sms from scammers after signing up to this website! Gumtree is a better platform with outstanding support compare to this Flatmates.

They blocked my account for no reason. After reading some of this reviews, this site should be avoided at all cost!

Totally Waste of time

Flatmates doesn't have an avenue to reviewing renters and tenants. I reported a listing and there's no follow up or action. I was scammed and there's no mechanism in flatmates that prohibit this from happening again and again. I'd rather stay in a hostel or an AirBnb where I'm safe and have the power to really take action when injustice is done.
