Be very cautious when using Jeff to book flights!
We recently worked with Jeff at flyclever.com to book flights for our wedding and honeymoon. We were connected with Jeff through out travel agent, and the experience left much to be desired.
Initially, Jeff was polite and open to speaking with us. We went over flight options, including our want of booking business class flights for the international travel- and these were done correctly. While it was not specified what class of ticket we would like for our connecting domestic flights, I was shocked to find we had been booked on the cheapest basic economy tickets possible without discussing this and the risks with us prior. This immediately meant we were paying to check bags, select seats, and gave us no flexibility if there were potential weather or scheduling changes.
We then ran into the next problem when we found out our original flight from Fiji to New Zealand was booked at a time that was impossible for us to make. The entire reason behind me wanting to work with a travel agent was to avoid missing a transfer- and Jeff did not do his due diligence to confirm with the travel agent or the resort on whether an early morning flight could be taken prior to offering this flight as an option for us. When met with questioning as to how this happened, he said that the "the resort did not advise them the earliest boat transfer was 9am" and that our only option was to abandon this leg of the flight (for no refund) and purchase a new flight with a different airline.
There was no apology. No accountability on his part as the booking expert. No offer to try and do anything at all to make this right.
As we got closer to our departure it became clear with the government shutdown and the TSA crisis that we may need to take an earlier flight to LAX in order to make our connection. Our original flight would have been fine, but the Airline cut down on their routes and we got moved to a later departure time. BUT- because we were booked on basic economy tickets, we could not change our flight. This left us booking a completely new ticket, out of pocket, because we were unable to change our original booking due to being placed in basic economy.
We also provided our KTN's for the bookings, and these were not added to either of our domestic bookings. Not the biggest problem in the world, as we were able to add them at the kiosk, but just one more thing in the overall scheme of things.
Two stars because our business class seats were lovely and we had the most amazing trip, so I am feeling generous. But I will not be paying for Jeff's services ever again.
