Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed strong dissatisfaction with the service, finding the staff rude and unprofessional. They also frequently complained about the pricing structure, noting that initial low fares often escalated significantly due to numerous additional fees for bags and other services, making the overall cost higher than expected. The customer service was consistently criticized for being unhelpful, difficult to reach, and often outsourced, leading to unresolved issues and frustration. The booking process also caused problems, with many experiencing unexpected cancellations and difficulties with rebooking or obtaining boarding passes. However, some people were satisfied with the actual flights, describing them as smooth and on time, with helpful and pleasant cabin crew. A few customers also appreciated the initial low prices, especially for short flights, and found the GoWild Pass beneficial.

Cheap tickets may cost you a lot

Terrible attitude to customers. If you bought flight and didn’t buy seat, big probability that there won’t be room for you on a flight; even if you have seat they might come up with some excuse not to put you on the plane, say they'll put you on the next flight, and then just run you out of the airport. Our family had such a terrible experience. They took our luggage, promised to put us on the next plane in few hours, and in few hours said there is no places left, though they knew beforehand that all spots sold out. Staff don’t have badges and brazenly ignoring you

Early door closure and poor customer support

Frontier has apparently changed their door closure time to be 20 minutes before departure time within the past year. This is earlier than the standard for other US carriers. Frontier does not clearly advertise this when tickets are purchased, and for our flight they did not make any announcements (at least none audible 50 meters away) prior to closing the doors. Despite multiple different groups of customers showing up less than one minute after the early door closing, the gate staff did not offer any help to any of the affected passengers and were notably impolite. Upon calling the airline, stranded passengers are (not empathetically) informed that Frontier does not provide refunds or new flights for the passengers affected by this new and non-standard policy, despite the company presumably being well aware at this point that many passengers have had travel upended. Flying with a company that operates this way is taking a gamble on travel plans and expenses.

Frontier Airlines charged me $25 to…

Frontier Airlines charged me $25 to check in! I had never flown it before, it never communicated any fee, or communicated any link to online check in, but when I got to the airport, on time, I was told to pay $25 for the privilege of checking in, at the airport, on time! $#$&&&%$*^&*@
I have complained to the airline repeatedly, which admitted its communications are at fault, but refuses to refund. A class action suit is warranted here for mis-selling. Please count me in. I have already complained to my State Attorney General

One of the worst airlines

One of the worst airlines I've flown with. Every time I book with them, the flight is delayed by at least 3 hours. They don’t let you know until about an hour before departure, even though they’re clearly aware of the delay much earlier. By then, you’re already at the airport with no other options. It feels like they do this on purpose to stop people from canceling or switching airlines. Avoid if you can.

Not over until the day by last

I originally booked through Expedia for flight and lodging together. Within 24 hours, I needed to change my arrival time. The cost to change the flight cost me more than the round trips original cost and I had to have a layover in Denver. I paid to update my seat. I had more leg room but the seat was extremely narrow. I'd chosen seats on the front row however, i was not told I would have to put everything/anything in the overhead bins because there was no under seat area and the middle seat, which was kept empty on purpose, couldn't be used for anything.
This things aren't as critical but they add up.
Flying home, I needed to check in my bag. Mind you, I bought this bag right before flying. Now frontier wants me to pick a replacement from their options but none of the options come close I to what I'd just purchased. It is ridiculous.

Literally never use this airline even…

Literally never use this airline even if your life depends on it. They cancelled my booking and never notified me. Customer service is pointless as the call wait time is never under an hour and sometimes even longer.

This wasFrontier: Humiliated Over Life-Saving Medication

This was my first — and absolutely my last — experience flying with Frontier. I was traveling with the exact baggage allowed: one backpack (smaller than the permitted dimensions), my laptop bag, and a small fabric pouch worn cross-body that contained essential medications — nitroglycerin, an asthma inhaler, and my pill case — plus a tiny wallet with my ID.
At the gate, an agent aggressively insisted that this small medical pouch counted as a “third bag.” I explained calmly what it was and why I needed it, but he gave me two choices: pay for it or throw it away. Those are not choices for a passenger carrying life-saving medication.
In the rush, I tried to stuff the pouch into my backpack. The zipper got caught on a piece of clothing and tore. Now the bag would not close properly. They then forced me to put it in the baggage sizer, and because it wasn’t closing, I had to literally force it down. When it didn’t slide in “easily,” they told me to go back, fix it, or pay. At this point my blood pressure was through the roof. I was humiliated, stressed, and nearly missed my flight. In fact, I was the last passenger to board.
No passenger should be treated this way, especially over a tiny pouch holding medication that clearly doesn’t fall under “excess luggage.” The staff was rude, inflexible, and showed zero compassion or common sense.
On my return trip, I flew with Spirit — and the difference was night and day. Friendly, reasonable, and professional. Spirit is now my go-to low-cost airline. Frontier will never see me again.

Frontier “Go Wild” Pass Review

Frontier “Go Wild” Pass Review

The Frontier “Go Wild” pass is one of the biggest travel mistakes I’ve ever made, and I want to warn others not to waste their money. My daughter and I both purchased the passes, and in an entire year we were never able to use them once.

The blackout dates are so extreme that it feels like the pass is designed to block you from traveling when it matters most. On top of that, you can only book flights the day before you travel, which is essentially the same as flying standby. That makes it impossible to plan ahead for family trips, work, or anything important.

Every time I looked for flights, either the dates were blacked out or nothing was available. Calling customer service was no help—they just point to the fine print on their website, which is buried and misleading.

This pass is not worth the paper it’s written on. Unless you want to give Frontier free money, don’t even consider it. I would rather donate the money to a real charity, because at least then it would go to a good cause. With the Go Wild pass, you’ll still end up booking with another airline.

Save yourself the stress and disappointment. Don’t buy !!!

Refused Refund Despite Death in Immediate Family!

I will NEVER fly Frontier again! I booked a trip for my girlfriend and I. We were super excited to relax and rejuvenate. Sadly, the Sunday before our flight, we received notice that her father had passed from a heart attack. So Monday morning my gf had to fly to NY to help the family with arrangements. I contacted Frontier, explained the circumstances and included a letterhead from the funeral home so that I could be refunded and book my flight to attend the funeral. Frontier responded back almost a week later stating, - that a death certificate would need to be submitted for a CREDIT (NOT A REFUND). I could not talk to a real person since there is no number to call. Instead, I went back and forth via email during an extremely challenging time. The way Frontier handled this situation was completely inhumane and unethical! I had to dispute the charges with my bank, and thankfully, I eventually got my money back. NEVER AGAIN!

Repair to plane while waiting on tarmac

Not sure what to think, when I took my recent flight to Vegas on frontier JFK to Las I boarded the plane where the pilot had the cockpit open and somebody else was in there to talk to him. That made me uncomfortable since 9:11 and also the pilot did come out and advise there was a hole in a plane and it was repaired and they're waiting for someone in Denver to approve this repair before our flight. That made me very nervous and there was an issue with a couple that they moved from the back to the front stating there's some legal issue. Well we don't put people with problems who are having legal issues or any kind of issue in the front of the plane closer to the cockpit you put them further in the back with a cop or something watching them I thought that was not handled the right way.

MASSIVE SAFETY CONCERNS WITH FRONTIER!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

I was on Frontier Flight F9 3646 (Las Vegas → Austin, 30 May 2025), which never departed after a sudden aborted take-off and eventual cancellation. Frontier has since provided three contradictory explanations — “maintenance issue,” “crew timeout,” and now “crew availability/delay” — despite refunding me in full and sending an official cancellation notice. They now even claim there are “no records” of the aborted take-off, which is deeply troubling from a safety standpoint. They even claim that the flight itself was not cancelled, just delayed and executed later, even though I provided them with their own cancellation email as proof! This is not just poor service — it looks like a deliberate attempt to obscure the truth. I have escalated this with the U.S. Department of Transportation and will continue pursuing it until Frontier is held accountable.

Thank you Frontier

It was an average flight experience overall, but I was satisfied. The seats weren’t the most comfortable and the cabin felt a bit tight, so it’s not ideal for very long trips. However, the crew really made a difference — they were friendly, cheerful, and had a positive attitude throughout the flight, which made the journey more pleasant. I felt safe the whole time, and the fact that the flight was on time for both departure and arrival was definitely a plus. If you’re not expecting luxury and just want an affordable, straightforward trip, Frontier is a good option.

One of the worst airline experiences I have ever had

One of the worst airline experiences I have ever had

Flying with Frontier was genuinely awful. The aircraft, an Airbus A320neo Leo, is incredibly uncomfortable. The seats have no recline, no padding, and barely any legroom. For a flight that is over five hours long, it is borderline inhumane. Sleeping was impossible.

To make matters worse, they only allow you two small cups of water. That is what the flight attendant told us. After that, they start charging. Not even basic hydration is included. It is shocking.

On top of this, the baggage fees are absurd. You end up paying a high price overall and get almost nothing in return. No comfort. No service. Definitely no value.

Never again. I will not fly Frontier again under any circumstances.

One of the worst airlines

One of the worst airlines. This will be my first and last booking through Frontier. I booked a flight from LAX to DFW on August 28th at 7 PM, and the flight number was 4964. I reached LAX airport at 5 PM PST. After the security check, there were delays due to airport services, and along with me, there were almost 25 people affected. The flight was supposed to depart at 7 PM, and we reached the gate at 6:45 PM.

Since the delay was caused by airport services and we were 25 people, the flight should have accommodated us—but it had already departed. When we asked, they said it was our mistake and told us to reach out to customer support. We were standing in the damn line for almost 3 hours, and the people at the counter were extremely slow in clearing the line.

Despite explaining my concern, instead of refunding the full amount, they refunded only half, and I had to pay additional charges for the same flight the very next day. I had to spend the whole night at the airport. They had no alternate solution.

The next day, I observed that people were still being allowed to board the flight until 6:55 PM. I believe this was completely unfair to us. Due to their negligence and poor service, everyone had to pay additional amounts in order to reach their destination. The staff was also very rude. Just like their cheap ticket prices, their services are also cheap and disappointing.

I would recommend people not to opt for their services just based on price.

Having an attitude must be a requirement to work the front check in desk

I don’t usually write reviews, but my in-person customer service experience with Frontier was so unpleasant that I feel compelled to. The entire front desk staff could benefit from basic customer service training—things as simple as greeting passengers politely and treating them with respect. When I approached the counter, the staff just stared at me. No greeting, no acknowledgement—just an attitude that seemed routine. When someone finally did speak, it was with a nasty tone.

I asked to speak with a manager, hoping for better, but she was no improvement. All I needed was a simple note confirming that I did not have a carry-on bag, as I had been instructed over the phone the previous day. Instead, I was met with resistance and more attitude.

Here’s the situation: a Frontier supervisor on the phone specifically told me that if I arrived at the airport without a carry-on, the staff there could confirm it and I would be eligible for a refund. I followed those instructions and did not bring a carry-on bag. But at the counter, that information was completely dismissed. Instead of honoring what I had been told, I was offered only a voucher that expires in 90 days. Had I known they would refuse to honor the refund, I would have simply brought my bag.

Between the misinformation, the lack of professionalism, and the consistently rude customer service, I will never fly Frontier again. I would rather pay more with another airline than deal with this kind of treatment. I would not recommend Frontier to anyone. It is clear that customer service is not a priority here. Frankly, I’m disgusted. The phone staff was at least present even though they did not uphold what I was told.

Frontier Airline …An airline with NO service

An airline with NO service. And a true Robber!!!! I paid 100 dollars for one overweighted luggage. In addition I paid 3 times 25 dollars to make a check-in for my family.
So the conclusion is if you look for cheaper flights … you pay more
The era of NO service and robberies should be abandoned. Please refuse it

Dishonest Baggage Fees

Frontier Airlines is greedy and negligent. On my recent trip, DC staff confirmed my bag was a personal item. In Las Vegas, gate agents suddenly decided it was “non-compliant” and charged me $99 — with no option to pay the lower pre-boarding fee. This wasn’t just inconsistent, it was predatory.

Their gate staff was unprofessional and dismissive, and customer service refused to refund or mitigate the charge. Frontier hides behind “policy” while profiting from confusion and inconsistency their own employees create. This airline thrives on nickel-and-diming customers instead of building loyalty. I’ll never fly Frontier again, and I encourage others to avoid this airline at all costs.
