Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the service, including uncomfortable seats and a lack of in-flight amenities like meals or even water, despite the price paid. The customer service was frequently described as non-existent, with people struggling to reach live agents or receive responses to their inquiries and complaints. Reviewers also found the pricing to be high for the level of service received, often feeling that the service provided did not match the premium prices paid. The staff were often perceived as unprofessional, unhelpful, and even rude, particularly towards non-Spanish speaking passengers. The booking process also caused considerable frustration, with issues like double charges, unconfirmed bookings, and difficulties in making changes. However, some customers reported positive experiences, noting good prices, friendly staff, and comfortable seats, especially when flying in premium classes. These individuals also found the food to be good and appreciated the attentiveness of the crew when approached directly, despite issues with call buttons.

Not bad at all

I know a lot of airline reviews can be negative/bad, so I wanted to leave a review about my overall positive experience with LEVEL. All of the staff members from the check in desk to the flight attendants were lovely, patient, and responsive. The attendants in particular came around frequently with food & snacks, drinks, and items for purchase such as headphones. I ordered my meal ahead of time since I am a vegetarian, and they had both a dinner and breakfast option prepared and reserved for me. Both were tasty. I asked for a drink that was an extra charge and the attendant let me know before providing it in case I wanted to change my mind.

As far as the plane, nothing wrong with it, especially compared to other budget airlines Ive ridden with. Seats were fine, and they came around with blankets if you wanted. I was pleasantly surprised they had in flight entertainment, as most budget airlines I ride with these days do not. It wasn’t an extensive selection, but there we definitely some options and it was included in the ticket price.

Everyone seemed like they got their luggage as well. I almost didn’t book this flight because the reviews were so horrible, but I figured maybe that’s just common with airlines and I really preferred a direct flight barcelona to boston. Overall you can give a few gripes, (for example, our takeoff was delayed) but they are probably things you could experience on most airlines. And of course, summer is the busiest travel time and things are bound to happen. And again, it is budget, so I wasn’t expecting luxury. Basically, I say don’t let the negative opinions sway you. Our flight was perfectly good and I would fly LEVEL again.

I send a complain about my horrible…

I send a complain about my horrible fight with Level, about the terrible condition was the air craft, VY 8461 VY 9795.
It's a shame that Level has delegated the responsibility to Iberia. The company should be concerned about checking their business practices whenever a customer complains. It should be in their interest to confirm the truth behind these complaints, especially when there are many with similar information. Level is still ignoring this issue, but it is indeed about them! Don't worry, good publicity is beneficial for a company, but negative publicity, which seems to be more prevalent, can significantly damage a company's brand. Keep doing what you're doing, and Level will become a closed company.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience. We have paid extra for the meal, but by the time they were dividing the meal, everything was gone when they came to us. They apologized and gave Pringles and sandwich from the menu, which wasn't what I expected. And some of them were so rude and spelled water on me. I ask for the refund for our paid meal.

This low cost airline is a con job from beginning to end. From over sold flights, to taking money for seat upgrades that they never provide, and then looking to ping you for overweight fees. It's a poorly run Ryan air wanna be. Stay far far away. And do not let Iberia send you to this airline as a "comparable alternative", Its the worst.

Title: Extremely Disappointing Experience with Level Airlines

We booked our flight through Iberia, which was operated by Level Airlines, and it was by far the worst airline experience I've ever had. Iberia told us that our One World benefits applied with Level, but to our surprise, we had to pay for additional baggage and other costs. The airplane had no WiFi or entertainment options on an 11-hour flight from Barcelona to Miami.

The flight was delayed by 5 and a half hours, and they charged for water, soda, blankets, and even meals. The plane was old and smelled terrible. Drinks were served in cups that were no larger than urine sample containers. Overall, it was an incredibly unpleasant journey.

Purchases roundtrip airfare through…

Purchases roundtrip airfare through Expedia. Tickets listed on Expedia for Iberia airlines, but after confirming email arrived, tix purchased were for LEVEL- one of the worst airlines ever. Iberia is Level’s parent company (it turns out)- but Level ended up being, in my experience, a complete disaster as a co. and cancelled my return flight home with no warning or explanation-at the airport counter, 4 hours before my international flight was to depart. No refund was offered by Level and I asked Expedia to help with this as I would have never purchased this flight but for Expedia listing this flight on their platform. I tried contacting Level many times to get help with a refund, but they prefer chat and will disconnect you after leaving you on hold to wait for their response for assistance. Phone was no better. Expedia said they would try and contacted Level. After 4 days of no response from Expedia, I contacted Expedia again and they said they sided with Level because I was able to find 2 flights home on the same day through other carriers - even though I paid for a direct
Flight through Level that was cancelled without justification. Expedia offered me $100 credit toward a hotel stay- which I refused as they did not help at all with getting a refund from Level. Had to work it out with my credit card co and what a pain this has all become- all because Expedia will allow its customers to do business with a fraudster like Level!

They just left 2/3 of the plane luggage back in Barcelona. After a 13 hours flight to Santiago, they made us all que to fill a complain to get the luggage back. When asked why, they said it was because of "airplane balance", so they did know this was happening, and didn't let us know with anticipation nor offer an easier way to get the bags back, 3 extra hours at the airport just queing

We bought extra legroom with Liberia…

We bought extra legroom with Liberia from JFK to Barcelona. They at the last moment rebooked us on level.
It was the most uncomfortable ride I've ever experienced on any aircraft. No service of any kind, Wi-Fi down, screens were down. The staff said that level bought the aircraft used and it was not ready for service and they went ahead and put it into service.
The seats are so packed together that I had to sit at an angle. I talked with three other passengers seats would not even recline.
We are supposed to be booked with Liberia from Barcelona back to JFK and just found out they're putting us on the exact same flight.
They owe us a first class trip on Liberia back, it was that bad. No exaggerations.

I would never fly Level again

I would never fly Level again. I pre-purchased food but it was not put on the plane and now, 4 weeks later, having given Level the receipt, reservation number, date etc. they are still “researching” and I’m still waiting for my refund. 11 hour flight and no seat back entertainment and no wifi. Very small uncomfortable seats.

Most expensive baggage fees ever

Most expensive baggage fees ever! 30% of the total ticket value was from 1 checked-in baggage!
280 U$D for one 23 kg luggage on an intercontinental flight!
This is an abuse and it should be illegal. If I compare it against my weight and volume vs the amount paid, I paid proportionally more for the luggage than for my own ticket...
I never imagined that an airline would be allowed to charge that amount for checked-in baggage.
I clearly felt for a very dishonest marketing stunt of a lower ticket price that was compensated by the check-in baggage fee, won't make the same mistake again.

I had the most incredible flight From…

I had the most incredible flight From Barcelona to JFK New York on Jan, 26 2024
Despite initial setbacks, including a cancelled return flight and entertainment system issues, my experience transformed once aboard. The Economy+ seats provided unexpected comfort.

However, the true highlight of my journey was Sandra, one of the airline outstanding flight attendants. In all my years of flying, I've never encountered such genuine care and kindness. I confided in Sandra about my fear of flying, and her incredible support throughout every moment of turbulence was truly remarkable. Her warmth, support, and cheerfulness made a world of difference to me. Thanks to Sandra, I felt an incredible sense of trust in the airline and was able to overcome my fear during this flight.

Sandra's passion for her job and her enthusiasm for the airline were evident throughout the flight. My initial frustration with the airline transformed into amazement at the incredible person the airline has in the team, and I believe Sandra deserves recognition for her outstanding work.

Thanks to Sandra, my initial negative feelings toward the airline have completely shifted. I'll be choosing LEVEL for future flights and recommending it to everyone I know. Sandra's exceptional work has truly made a lasting impression.

Most confusing boarding time ever

Entertaining system was broken in both flights, which means it's the same aircraft that they didn't bother to fix

Most confusing flight schedule from Barcelona, all the emails I received stated it's a 210pm flight, then the airport screen stated 3pm when we arrived at the airport, delayed to 5pm after we went through the security

I paid for lounge for the long wait then around 245pm it was changed to 315pm, when we rushed to the gate, it's delayed to 4pm

Overbooking, extortion, everything. Worst airline experience in 30 years

Worst experience with an airline in over 30 years of flying. Absolutely the worst. Made our booking over 2 months ago for the 4th of April. 2 weeks before the flight, it was cancelled. I spent approx 3-4 hours online and on the phone trying to rebook a later flight, but Level had cancelled the same routes on subsequent days. After a week of trying, was able to book a flight leaving 3 days later than our original booking. Attempted to check-in online 24 hours prior and a weird glitch in the system made it impossible to complete the check-in without paying 70 euros extra to choose seats. Phoned and was told that American passport holders who did not wish to pay to reserve specific seats would need to check-in at the airport. Arrived at the airport, waited 45 minutes in line to check in to be told that the flight was overbooked and we were on a waitlist. Spent a total of 3.5 hours, waiting for all passengers to board before we were finally told that the flight was full and we needed to return to the check-in desk to be rerouted. Airline staff were rude and unhelpful throughout and did not provide any information about the situation. There were more than 25 people removed from that flight. it goes on...

We just flew from Miami to Barcelona…

We just flew from Miami to Barcelona direct. Very dissatisfied with the airline.
No WiFi, no television( although all the seats had them), no plug ins to recharge your own personal devices, warm beverages because they did not serve ice and our seats were very small with 6 inches of leg room. I will never fly the airline again. We couldn’t wait to deplane!! Flight 2630 from Miami to Barcelona.
None of this is exaggerated.
