Back in November we flew with Lynx on our way back from Los Angeles.
It was a NIGHTMARE.
Somehow, they got a computer issue at the airport, and they were unable to check us in.
They informed us that we would not be able to fly, and we had to come back to the airport the following day.

Interestingly, there is no Lynx personal or HQ in the LAX airport. We had to rely on their online chat to get the issue sorted, and it was a mess.
The customer service representative kept telling us that they could not give us any accomodation for the night because our problem was an « Uncontrollable delay »
Which is crazy, because it was a computer issue, and the company next to us had the same issue, which they managed to fix.

Lynx Air policy is only there to protect their buisiness, and they don’t care about the customer’s well being.
They didn’t provide us with an accomodation, they didn’t reimburse nor compensate us, they didn’t even provide us with a taxi to go to our hotel (that we had to pay for).
Nothing.

At the end we were stranded in a foreign country to no fault of our own, and we had to find a solution ourselves.

We will NOT be flying with that company again.

Worst Airline Ever... Make's flying with RyanAir feel like flying 1st class with Etihad...

Avoid like the plague...!

Lynx canceled both our outbound and return flights between Toronto and Calgary due to their own staffing issues. They put us on different flights on different days, which led to us having to book and pay for unplanned extra hotel stays on both sides...
Lynx refused to compensate us in any way as the say they canceled the flights with one months notice... So tough luck basically...

On the day of the flight they charged us over $400 for 4 carry-on bags...! (1 small carry-on bag each).

Everyone in the queue was charged in some fashion for excess baggage, even for small backpacks, and you could hear all the arguments as each passenger reached the top of the line. The staff's attitude was absolutely shocking, and they treated the passengers like absolute dirt.

One passenger beside us in the check-in queue was told his Lynx flight was overbooked so he had no seat...!

When we got to our gate our flight was delayed by about two hours as they had more "staffing Issues".

When we boarded the plane we sat on the plane for a further hour or more as they informed us that "they had no pilot available to fly the plane". We were told "they had called in another pilot on his day off, but we'd have to wait for the pilot to get to the airport...".

On our rescheduled return flight we attempted to check-in online to avoid paying the ridiculous prices at their check-in desk. However their on-line check-in would not work and their system had a "sync" error.

So we had to queue once again at their check-in desk to try check-in. The queue was massive as nobody had been able to check-in online.

Staff on the desk said that they could not check anyone in as their Lynx check-in system was completely down. After about 40 mins they decided the would make a manual passenger list, but told everyone that if they had pre-booked and paid for seats together they would not be able to honor those seat selections.

Once checked in we were once again delayed at our gate for almost two hours

When onboard we were sat in the front row and spent the next 4 hours onboard listening to the cabin staff at the front moaning and giving out among themselves about how bad the company was and how messed up all the staff schedules were.

Overall it's been the worst company I have ever flown with in my life... A complete rip off! Avoid at all costs.

I had a terrible experience with Lynx…

I had a terrible experience with Lynx Airlines. They refused to allow us with a small carry-on suitcase Rimowa for our flight, even though we were allowed to bring it from Toronto to Calgary. Instead, they demanded an extra $180. This is not in line with their own rules, and the staff was extremely rude.

Canadian Airline Lynx Shifts Flight by Weeks

A few days before my flight I get an email - "We’re sorry to inform you that your upcoming flight X from X - Y has been affected by a schedule change due to crew resources."

They booked me for a flight 11 days later.

They provide you the option to re-book on their website, but it only allows you to see flights +/-7 days from the NEW date. At best I was going to lose 4 days in my destination, which was already unacceptable. Also, the flight booked up almost instantly because obviously all of the people from my original flight are panic-switching.

On top of this, I tried calling their phone line. It told me to hold "because all of their agents are busy" and then it hung up on me. This happened twice.

Go with Westjet or Air Canada. The other budget airlines reschedule you 50% of the time and do not have the capacity to re-book you into something same/next day.

Three stars because while it is annoying, it was not at the level of a scam.
