Mail order comics have little to no quality control and high postage and already expensive items have had me cut back what I order by about 90% in the last 12 months. Practically everything is warped... See more

Good product and delivery was great and on time
Comics? More like comical!
Exceptionally slow processing and delivery times. Comics always have clear spin-wear and do not appear as new. Items listed as bagged and boarded are rarely boarded. When complaints are made to the company itself you get zero response.
The ONLY good thing about this company is the amount that they stock but I wouldn't recommend buying any collectible items from here as you will be disappointed.
Huge disappointment
Ordered £45 worth of comics, after waiting way past the delivery date I was told they were either lost or damaged. I asked for the books to be replaced and they couldn't so just refunded my order. Why I had to chase and they didn't offer that information.
Gutted.
Forbidden planet have no competitor, due to the fact that they have ties to the UK distributor. They really should be investigated for a monopoly. Awful service.
Great service!
Had an order query and the team got back to me so quickly! Really prompt and friendly service. Thank you :-)

I always order from Forbidden Planet
I always order from Forbidden Planet. Their books are always in perfect condition and well packaged.
Quick response to cancellation request
Ordered through their website, but then found the item I'd ordered in a physical store. Cancelled my order with a simple e-mail request, very happy with the service provided.
Postage too high, Quality Control too low
So I have been using Forbidden Planet for many years for all of my comic requirements. I have spent over £10,000 over the many years on their sites and in stores.
The last year however they have taken a down hill in my opinion. Firstly, they have adjusted their post and packaging to a point it's rather ridiculous.
Previously I would put in my monthly order and spend £150-£200 and pay £6 postage. The last two times however my postage is anything from £35-£50. The fact they will no longer bundle your comics together to ensure better postage means it's stupidly high costs.
My biggest concern however is the fact quality control has drastically dropped in the last year. As a comic collector, I expect the comics to arrive in good condition. They would usually send them in good condition, with a few issues now and then.
But now? Every comic I have comes with either dents, scratches on the surface, dirt on the surface or outright bent. Are they just throwing them into mailers now? None of my comics are arriving in what I would call a Near Mint condition anymore, and with the increase in costing, I feel I will need to find an alternative soon.

Just such good company love my comic you should waste all you money there or else you will not see tomorrow
Ordered comics, got nothing
Ordered comics. Shipped from the UK to US using DPD (didn't get a carrier choice). Package never made it out of the US delivery depot. Then they said they found it. Then called to ask if it was delivered?! Never came. Many emails went back and forth. DPD said they needed invoice info from FP. FP sent it but nothing happened. Then more emails. I did get refunded but really I just wanted the comics I ordered. Huge waste of time and a showcase of utter incompetence. FP cared more about closing the case than getting me what I ordered. Heed my warning and avoid this company at all costs. They do not deserve your business.
Update: I see FP replied. They could have requested a search to get things moving again after the invoice info and still could. I tried but DPD said only the shipper could request a search.

Postage Insanity
I started putting in my quarterly order and then went to checkout to see that the postage was now £35 almost £30 more than normal as there is a new postage policy. Would have been nice to know either clearly on the website or an email update explaining the change so I didn't have to waste my time today. The books often arrive warped/wavy and frequently have minor damage. This means it is no longer worthwhile to order from them and likely means evaluating whether or not I continue purchasing comics.

Forbidden Planet,No quality control
I've been ordering for years off them in the UK. They are very hit and miss quality wise and certainly don't have a problem sending you damaged books. On the plus side they have tended to be cheaper than the alternatives but with there latest postage hikes this is no longer the case. I may actually be done with them now. They also need to rethink there packaging. Twist mailers are not sealed and spending days in transit in a very wet climate tends to leave the books warped/wavy even if they started out OK.

Online orders arrived safely
Online orders arrived safely and when release dates were moved between items (previously the same dates), Forbidden Planet sent them on in parts.

Fantastic company
Just received my order of books. So well protected which you don't often get when ordering books. Absolutely will buy from you again as you are very reasonably priced, brilliant offers and obviously care about your customers experience. Just excellent guys 💯🤗
This bookstore's delivery is so fast
This bookstore's delivery is so fast, it's like they have book delivery ninjas. I barely had time to grab snacks before my new reads arrived. Impressive!
I placed an order for a Christmas…
I placed an order for a Christmas present in plenty of time for the big day. Unfortunately the order never arrived. I contacted Forbidden Planet customer service and they were very helpful and sent a replacement order for me. This arrived after Christmas but my daughter was able to give it to her brother before he went back to University.
Thank you for your help.
Books in perfect condition and arrived before Christmas
I was worried after reading some of the one star reviews here, but I'm very relieved to say that my order has arrived not only quickly (within a week) but also in perfect condition. I can tell these books were packaged with a lot of care.
I ordered 6 books in total. One oddity was that 2 of the books arrived in a different delivery to the other 4 despite being both delivered via DPD. Payment was also taken in two different batches.
However I can't argue with the results and I'm sure there was a reason for it. Thanks to all involved in my order.
Worst online experience available
So, after visiting there shops I decided to try online, a week later SOME of my comics have shipped, some haven't, they keep taking part payments when they want to, no tracking numbers so I've no idea where or when it's arriving (£6 postage too for royal mail 2nd class) what possibly takes a week to post half an order?? Plus will I ever get the rest of what I ordered? will you randomly take the rest of the money? If they're damaged or missing like a lot of others I will come to your store and replace them myself because your useless staff probably won't realise I've taken anything for a week or two.
