We were looking to have pictures taken of our 3 year old earlier this year and found Formby Photography. We hadn't heard of Formby Photography before, but when we asked around we received some positive feedback and decided to book. John instantly made us and our daughter feel comfortable and at ease and the shoot was quite relaxed. This resulted in some fantastic pictures, when our son arrived in September it was a no brainer to return and get some pictures when he was 2 weeks old. Again a relaxed environment and what could have been a stressful experience elsewhere seemed effortless and calm, this again resulted in excellent pictures. We ordered some pictures from the online gallery and also from the signature selection with acrylic 8k. Everyone that comes around to the house compliments the pictures. I couldn't recommend highly enough and will be back.

Amazing photographer. I didn't think anybody could produce pictures as good a quality as John did, incredible attention to detail. Couldn't recommend him higher.

John captured some fantastic photographs of Harry, following his graduation and just prior to his starting employment: not the easiest age to put at ease before a camera....Perhaps the inclusion of the family dog broke the ice! John's easy manner during the shoot and painstaking attention to detail on the pictures themselves have given us some really special pictures of the pair of them. Many thanks, John.

With John, it isn't hyperbole to describe your experience as once in a life time. He made the whole shoot feel relaxed yet professional, he made my very nervous partner feel at ease and actually enjoy something she assumed she would hate (the shoot was a suprise Christmas present) with casual ease and subtle humour he controlled both camera and nerves without ever making it feel like "just a shoot or just another job"

Our family pet came along and even got involved in some of the action and I can only attest to how relaxing she (the tri colour dog on the website) found the whole experience as well.

John is a great photographer with a lot of experience. He was very organised before hand, knowing what looks he wanted to do and my shoot with him was such a laugh. He's a very nice guy and I loved the final images!

I had a fantastic day shooting with John, he's so helpful and patient. We achieved some amazing images and they were edited perfectly by John. I'm chuffed to bits with my pics and wouldn't hesitate to recommend John.

We went to see John last year to get some newborn portraits done and loved them so much we returned in March for a family portrait to celebrate his first birthday. We loved his use of props to keep our one year old son entertained through out. He was very accommodating in using our ideas plus putting a unique twist to each shot so they were truly unique. We only wanted three pictures but fell in love with five. The ease of the experience was so relaxed and a great fun for all was had. We had the finished portraits in the specified time and we couldn't be happier with the result. We would highly recommend John to anyone thinking of having any photography work undertaken. John's work is quite unbelievable.
